  • My brother is trying to buy a hofner bass which looks exactly like the one you are playing here. It is a 69' Vintage and it has the same staple pickups, and i was wondering if you could make a video on the =is bass in more detail like the appearance etc. Thanks!

  • You should post a video of the bass if your brother gets it. Oh,but those are the blade type pick ups, not the staples.

  • Ah, blade type. I got conused, sorry. Thanks! I sure wil post a video when he gets it!

  • i love trying to make these videos where the wife walks in or the kids and they say mammy daddy is at again in the garage...ha ha and you are there trying to pretend you are on stage with ringo and j lennon and george...then you here from the kitchen stop playing with yourself and come in the cabbage is done you gobshite

  • Good job, but i think you started the bass to early. Wait a little bit.

  • You are correct! But I didn't try to play it exactly like the song...I played it Like I wanted to...I like to add that at the beginning just to do a little something more... And the riff at the beginning and after John sings his part...Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Check out my "Dig A Pony" video...It's exact...well close :-)

  • hey there mr hofnerbass63 i like the bass sound and the fact you removed the pickguard to make it more like sir pauls and your beatles guitar strap are you using the flatwounds i have them on my hofner copy and they really give you that paul bass sound great playing my friend ...do you play in a band.. any way just wanted to say great stuff cheers

  • Thanks for the comment! :-) I removed the pickguard because it was vibrating on certain notes and you could hear it through the amp. Yes I use flatwounds! That is a Hofner strap, And currently I'm not in a band but putting something together....Cheers back at'cha!

  • great job mate!..=o]

  • Thanks a bunch! I REALLY do appreciate the nice comment!

  • Great Pepsi machine!

  • Thanks! 1978-ish.. Hope you like the bass playing too LOL!!

  • Nice job. I've got a '67 501 - original owner, with the blade pickups. I lust for the staples, but I'm not about to sell my "Mac" to buy a newer model (what I'd be able to afford). BTW, nice Pepsi machine in the back. One last point, grow a beard and you'll even look like Paul! Keep rockin'!

  • Hey thanks for the nice comment! :-) I really do appreciate it. I use to have a beard BTW lol. The pepsi machine is circa 1978 and works GREAT! Thanks again for the comment

    JPMac

  • Thanks again for the comment....I think between the blade and Staple I like the warm sound of the Blades better, I have never played one with the diamond style pickups...

    JPMac

  • great cover and btw which hofner pickups sound the warmest in your opinion, the staple pickups, the blade pickups, or the diamond ones?

  • /me claps :-)
