  • i took the test (several versions) and i recurringly turned out to be an INTJ. but from you description of the difference between n & s, i find characteristics in both. is that possible or is the axis defined on an either/ or basis

  • @harlinskee *your

do you also think it is possible to be religious and intuitive? and if yes how so? because thats basically what the result says i am

  • Hi, great video but just a quick question. P isn't a function is it? It is sort related to having a dominant or auxiliary Extraverted Thinking or Feeling?

  • Heroes was just craptacular...

  • Hi, I loved your intelligent descriptions. Can you say that intuitives ask 'What could it be?' and sensors ask 'What is it like?'

  • I saw another site where they said based on a survey that enfjs and infjs were the most likely they be religious. Now of course they could be wrong, but I dunno if what you say about sensors essentially being more likely to be religious or show religious type tendencies is accurate. I'm no expert though I'm really just pointing out what other sources have claimed.

  • Do you think Hitler, with his "thousand year riech" vs Roosevelt's "new deal" might be a good example of the differences?

  • Flame away flame away... I live in a concrete building (Effect Pause). Hahaha Love the understated humour you sarcastic bitch....

  • Just so that you won't have to indulge in guesswork, I'm actually complimenting your dry wit ;)

  • I am confused as to how sensory types have an easier time taking to religion, which is about stuff that you can't see, touch, hear, smell or taste

as for startcraft, details details details, the pros at least seem to treat the game like it's mundane life, probably because it is if you're playing 10+ hours everyday as a job

  • Claude Rains wasn't on Heroes long enough for me to pay much attention to him, but the same actor, Christopher Eccleston, played the 9th Doctor on Doctor Who, and he was perhaps my favorite of the Doctors. Have you seen Doctor Who? If so, does the 9th Doctor strike you as an INTP?

  • I like your explanation on how intuitive feel the need to create or influence what their working on. I've really experienced that as an INTP.

  • your hilarious...

    flame awayyyyy!!

    XD

  • awesome to be sharing this planet/dimension with people who make great videos like yourself. I happen to be an INFP myself.

  • keep these videos coming. this is so damn interesting. Little did I know that Myers Briggs could answer so many situations on how people interact. this is going to help in my career and within my personal life. So far I am so E,,,,, an out of a balance E! Any suggestions on bringing my E level down, and add some traits from I?

  • ooo..flame away! Interesting the S's can believe in something without having sensing proof.

  • "I live in a concrete building." ... laughed out loud... appreciate your wit and piercing courage in voicing that one. I enjoy your series very much Barcode. Thanks for doing this.

  • I'm an INTJ with mostly S friends and I can tell you that the differences are very apparent. When I begin talking about my projects or my ideas they suddently become more sarcastic and try to change the topic because they're uncomfortable. Ss tend to use facts as a foundation and use logic (STs) to build upon it to reach the ideas of N types.

I've also noticed that there are some similarites with ISTPs and INTJs and ISTJs and INTPs and that many Ss are wrongly typing themselves as Ns

    Nice work

  • Your delivery is magnificently done! I'm looking forward to the rest in the series, and have only praise for your diligent efforts. Thank you for doing this, Incidentally, I am an INFJ

  • Claude is actually an ENTJ :) That's why he's so cute, doncha know.

  • I have watched all of your videos so far and I find them really insightful and accurate. I'm an INFJ, although I have a really low judging score usually. However, while I do not like to judge others harshly, I don't like keeping my options open enough to be perceiving, I think. Anyway, nice videos, I'll see if you have more. I love MBTI.

  • - Cause im not up for a discussion right now. If someone would be as kind as to contact me, I'd be very thankful and answer once I can find the energy;)

  • I am loosing my sleep over this question.. Am I an INTJ or an ISTJ? I would really appreciate some help on the topic, cause I score differently on different tests. What I know for certain is that I am always living in the future, and I always have a plan B. On the other hand I do not believe I am very creative, as I see creativity as a rather random process. My innovation is based on facts.. where does that leave me? Im really exhausted these days: exams and worries:/ I'd appreciate a pm/msn

  • Do facts: (A) Speak for themselvs (B) Illustate a concept - Are you inclined to take what is said: (A) More literally (B) More figuratively Alternatively, when you speak, do you tend to be more lteral or figurative - Do you prize in yourself: (A) a strong hold on reality (B) a vivid imagination The more A's you answer means the more S you have in your personality. The more B's, the more N you have.
  • i'm in between ISTP and INTP I scored only 1 extra on the myers brigg test as an INTP

  • ya def i wanna hear about feeling and thinking reallyyy badly

  • when will you make more vibeos

  • I like your weird sense of humour. You are intelligent & funny. But I would enjoy your talk more if they are not too "spicy" (words that shock & awe).

  • Nice video as always. Very articulate and informative.

  • I have a question.

What Myers-Briggs type are you attracted to?

  • I can geek out more than heroes.

Qui-Gon Jinn with his views on the living force point more toward sensing, whereas Yoda is more intuitive with the unifying force.

Star Wars trumps Heroes on the geekometer any day am I right?

  • Yeah, Heroes isn't geeky enough, but it's popular. I used it as an example because it's currently all the rage. I've typed a few Star Wars characters, though. And you're right, Heroes' got nothing on SW.

  • Starcraft ftw.

  • You're hilarious! Nice videos! I'm an iNFp, but I've spent the last decade working on strengthening my T component...I'm working on my PhD in physics.

  • well, where are the remaining descriptions. Especially about feeling and thinking. As I have a lot of difficulty to figure that out. One way I do that is that thinking people are thin skinned and feeling are thick skinned. But still feelers can forgive easily. :P Another distinctive trait is thinkers have a higher IQ than feelers in general. But, I am not sure about this. If it is generally true.

I would love to see your next videos and maybe discuss about these things in more detail. :)

  • You quote was "One way I do that is that thinking people are thin skinned and feeling are thick skinned. " End quote I think this is backwards, why would a thinking logical person be thin skinned?Feelers are the ones more likely to get their feeling hurt.

  • Hey...

It was nice to see your videos and your descriptions are pretty good. I am most probably an ENTP. However I could be an ENFP or INFP as well. It would be great if you could help solving it. :P You are definitely an INTP. I recognize INTPs instantly from their eyes. INTPs are usually my best friends. We can talk, discuss and argue for hours.

  • I find intuitives more intrigued with the myer briggs concept than sensors. Intuitives seem to grasp the personality type ideas much better when I explain it to them.

Sometimes I wish I had more of a sensing trait because I'm too much of an idealist, which makes it hard for me to accept things as they are.

  • im an intj that loves heroes! I never thought to compare their myer briggs types. thats a weird thing to do with fictional characters. i wonder if the writers take that into account...

  • I'm ENTJ AND I LOVE HEROES! Thank god someone else loves this show!

  • oh okay. I was beginning to wonder what "heroes" are these people talking about? No, I don't watch that show, nor do I watch that one called "24" or "Lost". I don't think it has to do with me being an ESTJ. I'm just not into reality tv. It's silly to me and I dig music much much more.

  • "Flame away!"

    "I'm in a concrete building"

    *long pause*

    =]

  • You sound like an ISTP :)

  • "wasting time" is quite subjective. No one wants to hear the promotion/advertisement of your beliefs.

If you believe the internet has no place for recreational use, act like your fellow monkey "sensors", and log the eff off.

  • I'm an INTJ but I prefer the Total War series to games like Starcraft.

  • woo starcraft!

  • Im an INTJ and I love starcraft too. Hey your videos are great by the way. I really love how you articulate your ideas.

  • i love starcraft

    but hate heroes

still like u tho... unless u stop making these videos

  • I'm an INTJ and i'm obsessed with starcraft, currently on 128 wins in a row.

  • ENTJ female!! be you guys thought I was a boy huh!!

  • ENTJ female? Hmm..very rare :) I'm an ENTJ male, slightly more common (still ~1% of the population). Ah well, nice to see some friends :)

  • you should dress more trampy

  • I can get annoyed with SJ's sometimes. I'm in high school and I sit with jocks (all SJ's) and all they care about is fitting in and wanting to keep up with the times. they just sit there gossiping while I'm quietly fantasizing, or thinking about how to get rich or improve myself in some way. I'm not trying to discriminate, but some of them just get annoying.

  • Difference between S and N.

Sensors think in a linear format. Sensors can go from point A to B to C to D...

iNtuitives think in a non linear format. N's can go from Point A to Point F without any problems.

  • Ha ha ha. I'm so much an S. I'm thinking, "you can't just skip steps in this process!"

  • @sandbar3000 Thats more of you Te-- (extraverted Thinking)--wanted to have a step process in your way of thinking, and that it needs to be done this way in order for this to happen

  • i love you...

    good vid btw.

  • Sensing people are better at Starcraft. Intuitive people never spend enough time to master a game with as little stimuli as Starcraft (perhaps UMS maps they are good for ENFJs because it is so full of variety where intuitive dominates).

I do however play a strategy/FPS called Empires, a mod for Half-Life 2. I am often the commander (there can be only one on each team) who leads others. Sensers are better at getting the job that is required done, while Intuitives seem to be better leaders.

  • i'm an enfp!

  • I'm an enfp!!

  • thanks for the videos. very interesting

i've researched myers briggs quite a bit and i am definitely an INFP.

    In my family we have:

    INFP - me

    ISFP - my dad

    ENTP - my mom

ENFP - my oldest sister whos very outgoing

INTP - my older sister.. definitely the descriptions fit her

and I love HEROES also. and that's so weird because I have also tried to analyze their myers briggs type

  • thanks for these videos, they're very informative. I know some things about MBTI but this is really helping me understand the differences between N and S... oh and by the way, Claude Rain is my favorite, too. :]

  • I do appreciate you undertaking this psychologically stimulating topic but let's face it us INTPs have bigger fish to fry !

  • the reason there's such an overlap with SJ and NP is because... there is!

MBPT modified making JP a function unto itself. where as socionics might have more clearity to you because JP is based off functions and subtypes. take a look and make some comparisons.

  • So could this be a confounding variable for the test scores?

P.S. Sorry for the chaotic rambling

  • Well, I must say that your humorous take on the flamage is truly something to be admired.

Sensors are taking in more continual/meticulous input of data. Could this detract from (not raw cognitive capacity) but rather cognitive performance because there is less undivided attention that's devoted to abstract thinking and theorization...

And also they're taking in large amounts of data while an intuitive can be more selective and retain only that which is sufficient for deeper abstract thinking.

  • ESFPs usually don't tolerate abstract ideas and often become frustrated when having to deal with them. They can be inpersonal, speaking very bluntly and matter of fact. "Dont like it? deal with it" is a very ESFP attitude to have.

ENFPs live in a world of abstract ideas and theories. They usually thrive on them. When an enfp is speaking, they usually use very floaty and enthusiastic language. An ENFP would be more likely to compromise than walk away from an argument.

  • Hi there... thanks for your videos, they are just great. I am either an ENFP or ESFP. I keep getting different results for the Myer Briggs and its really quite frustrating. Is it possible to be borderline in a quality? Sometimes i am very much into the big picture, but then i get moments where i can only live in the hear and now. Any clues?

  • 1) Are you taking the MBTI, or some online copycat?

2)Preferences don't switch, but people can and do use all 8 of the jungian cognitive processes. The test is wrong one, or possibly all of the types you took it (for all we know you could be niether of those types)

The whole 'big picture' thing doesn't really end up being useful.

By the way, ESFPs mis-typing as ENFPs is extremely common.

  • Thanks... yeah i took the online quiz humanmetrics? if you google myer briggs its the first one that comes up. Perhaps not the most reliable way to determine my type.. Anyway... thanks for feedback will keep researching :)

  • I agree. I know by now that people take offense to having thier own type questioned.

Hopefully you can get beyond that and actually consider my criticisms. I can't post links with these posts, but there is a lot of material that you could be reading that you pretty clearly have not read. So you got to some point in learning about type and don't realize how much there is left to learn for you to truly understand it. That's OK, that happens to almost everybody.

  • By the way, when you get your type wrong, you create not one but two false impressions about type. That's why I'm being such a bother.

Clearly you don't believe people who criticize your videoes. Do you want me to explain everything that was innacurate? (truly, the video about sensing-intuition was much more accurate than the one about introversion-extraversion)

  • ..but the process that you (barcode) 'greet the world' with is an extraverted JUDGING: process (extraverted thinking). Hence, the last letter in your type code is a J: INTJ.

  • I have looked into this for almost a year. I have conducted my own research into determining whether I am INTJ or INTP. This is a topic that I have quite fervently pursued. I trust this research and will continue to trust it over the analysis of an individual who has never known me in real life, and whose analysis is based upon a few minutes of YouTube video.

  • Sorry meant....

1)I am in my mid 30's and have just now gotten into personality types and I took a test.

    2)She is definately more grounded.

Sorry been looking at this computer too long.

  • I really enjoyed your videos. I hope you continue. I am in my mid 30's and have just now gotten into personality types and a took a test. I am an ENFP an get along with almost everyone. I am having communication trouble with an ISTJ. As I understand it since I am the more adaptable one should I be the one conforming to her standards of communication. She cant help it right? She definately more grounded.

  • keep it up, for a while I wasn't entirely sure if I was a sensor or intuitive. This vid definitely cleared it up (an N). What I'm looking forward to most is Thinking vs Feeling. I know in my heart that another soft hearted feeler but I've got some cold hard logic in my head.

  • Why is the clock upside down?

  • its not. she looks at it from the other way when she gets up.

  • What about NJ and SP correlations?

  • You seemed to be quite nervous on your last two vids. Nevertheless, I enjoy watching them for informational purposes. Good job. I hope you continue.

  • lol, yeah i was pretty tired when i made this.

  • Keep up the good work...I like your style of explaining all this :)

  • I lol'ed. Good video. I'm looking forward to the next one.

  • yay! no mid-term = more videos!!!

  • you are one of the only other people that have derived the correlation between N and P

    S and J

well, that i have come into contact with

    " concrete building " LMAO

  • I just got that, lol.

  • First to watch and post!?!?!
