I became a fan of your work not so long ago after stumbling on your "how to make a stop motion set" video, and I really hope that you become able to tell many tales with your movies in a not so distant future!
I do a little bit of stop motion and I'd just like to say that this video is very inspiring to me. Excellent job with the sets, puppets and overall "feel" of the film. I loved it.
Really enjoyed that! Although the brown guy scared me (I have a weird phobia of giant hands). Really loved the quick fly by of the pictures - nice touch! Great job!
This is great John. After seeing seperate shots of this film in development and now altogether has filled me with awe. It all knits together so well. I love the flying ship shots and the landscape beneath and I love all the references to fellow animators work. I have a broad smile now thanks.
Great job/effort! Also, I always 'dig' Jules Verne-like flying crafts & ships. Many ways, to tell a story such as the ALL visual style (no dialog) and many times, easier to follow for wider international audience. Nick Hilligoss is very good at that, using minimal conversation. I also noticed inside the ship, a pic on wall of a mysterious shaved head dude wearing shades :)
Wow, really a fun film - I guess the captain likes to have all the fun lol. Thanks also for the shout out to Zombie Pirates - captain Quill would be proud to be on your ship!
Whoo hoo!!! Fabulous job on this video! After watching so many hours of creative hardships on this one...it's really paid off. You're shining bright on this one! 143
Oh, I just saw it! This is fun - you should have everyone try to count the references! Not that it needs more incentive to keep watching tho - I really enjoy this one.
Fantastic work John - the sets are amazing and the animation is really smooth!
It's also tons of fun trying to spot all the references to other animators - thanks for putting a woolly monster sticker on that crate, it made my day!
This film brings to mind the episode of Davey and Goliath with Mekano, the mechanical man. Really cool!

That's awesome - love all the little details like the crates - and that little green robot was amazingly animated!
emmyymme82 2 years ago 2
one of the crates under the stairs has a Judder photo on it as a reference to your films. It just doesn't show up very well in the film.

wow about how long did it take you to make the sets they always look so detailed.
lizardguy9 2 years ago
about a month to make the interior sets, and about a month or so combined making the exterior landscape.

That was very well done. Your animation was very smooth and professional.

Great job! Did set/puppet building take more effort and time than animation?
CrittermationsPictrs 2 years ago 2
the set making and puppet making took almost half the time of the total production.

Nicely done. I enjoyed watching that. The deckhand would have driven me mad.
