  • thank you. God has truly touched me through you in ways you cannot even fathom. God bless YOU richly. All Glory be to God!!

  • @Nikkiblessed89 I am honored the the Lord God has touched you through my teachings. Praise His holy name! God bless you richly!

  • Would not the teaching about the necessity of water baptism for salvation be a teaching that salvation depends on other people? Is it not a catholic thinking, namely that one must go through priesthood in order to be saved? The only thing that saves is to be in Christ: to have a personal fellowship with Christ, having a living faith in Him. He is the Way, the Truth and Life. Salvation is only through Christ and no other people. There is no CLEAR passage teaching that one must be baptized.

  • brotherryanhicks. "Saved through water", is one of the many passages that alot of people misunderstand. As you explained, and it makes sense, those on the ark were not literally in the water, they were on the Ark saved while going through the water. The Ark is a picture of Jesus saving us. Catholic church believes that the Ark is a picture of Mary, since she gave birth to Jesus they believe the Ark is Mary herself. They give her all the credit instead of putting our trust & faith in Jesus. THX

  • IF Acts 2:38 teaches that one must be baptized to be saved then it contradicts other verses in the Bible such as John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31. Does the Bible contradict itself---NO!! The word “for” in Greek can mean “because of”. It must mean “because of” or Acts 16:31 is not true! Salvation is the same for every man! “Believe (put trust, faith, confidence in) on the Lord Jesus Christ!!

  • @jbenso7417 "For" does mean "because of" in that context and numerous others. It is sad that so many miss that. The only thing you left out in your definition of "believe" is the faithfulness part. True belief includes obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Mere mental assent can include only putting trust, faith, and confidence in, but true salvation is one step further and includes obedience to the Lord as seen in Ephesians 2:8-10. God bless you richly.

  • @AccordingToScripture I have already explained all this. Please watch the video again. May the Lord bless you.

  • @AccordingToScripture Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

  • @RefutingSkellyism May the Lord bless you and enlighten the eyes of your understanding.

  • "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him Whom God has sent."

"This is Eternal life, that they may know You, the Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom You Have sent." If water baptism was what Jesus supposedly said in Mark 16 then we have contradiction.

  • @MyHunnyBunnyNora Taking a few choice verses, out of context, does not undo what Jesus said in Mark 16. It is very dangerous to take away from God's word because you do not understand the text. You need to pray about this, because you are in error about the authenticity of the text. A very basic study would show you the overwhelming evidence proving without a doubt the authenticity of Mark 16:9-20. Do not let unsaved scholars rob you of God's word and then turn you against it. Pray about this.

  • @MyHunnyBunnyNora I would also add that you have taken "believe" to mean mental assent. Belief actually means faithfulness and obedience to. If you truly believe on the Lord Jesus you obey Him (John 14:15). "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Hebrews 5:9). Those that refuse to be baptized do not believe in Jesus, plain and simple. The water baptism is not saving, but true faith is and true faith produces good works (Ephesians 2:10).

  • Hi brother. If you will look at most translations of Mark CH. 16: 9-20 it says, "older manuscripts omit verses 9-20"

Reason is that they are not original.

This would be the only place in the Gospels where Jesus ADDS something to believing in Him!

"He who believes AND IS BAPTIZED will be saved." are not Jesus' original words. They were added later by some "translator" who became an "interpolator."

  • @MyHunnyBunnyNora Those translations have followed the path of modern textual criticism AGAINST the Spirit of the Lord. My friend, I encourage you to research this issue thoroughly. Numerous early church teachers (before the earliest extant texts) quote parts of these verses. Many Greek lectionaries quote them. Early translations and numerous Greek texts also do. There is a wealth of evidence for these verses, and only questionable sources against them. We must be very careful about this issue.

  • @MyHunnyBunnyNora look up some of the early church fathers writings, they quoted from Mark 9-20 before it "supposedly" was added later. they actually quoted from this before the New Testament was compiled together

  • @bullawaya Amen.

    Matthew 10:22

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

  • Men are so scripture oriented, but still they cannot understand that baptism is from above, No amount of water can a sinful man. nor was it created to save men.Jesus was created for that pupose "the savior of the world" Yet we look to men to be baptized in water(earthly) which does not save. When Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus he was in awe that he didn't understand the saying of born again of water and spirit and both of these refer to him,he was speaking of himself and his baptism.

  • Baptism is one application to the Gospel...Without the proper application there is no salvation...A person must obey the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus....Death being repentance, burial being baptism, and resurrection being the Baptism of the Holy Ghost...You must apply these commandments of Christ...2 Thessalonians 1:8 - He will punish those who do not know God and do not OBEY THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus. Salvation is obedience to the gospel and continued faith in the Jesus...

  • I'm just wondering because most people that disagree with the scriptures on Baptism being neccasary for salvation usually say it's just an outward sign of an inward change...I think you're video was a great attempt but it's hard to say something the scripture doesn't say...Example, you're saying this about Mark 16:16 - He that believes and is saves shall be baptized...But the scripture doesn't say that...The scripture is clear that baptism is for the remission of sins...That's absolute truth...

  • very good point man, the water does not save you, faith in Christ does.

  • Thank you for sharing the light of Christ with your fellow brethren. You are such a blessing to the Saints. May His grace abound more and more as you are transformed into the image of Christ, amen.

  • @TheLordsWillBeDone May the Lord bless and keep you my sister!

  • What's the point of getting baptized if you don't believe...according Mark 16:16

  • @VesselsofTruth Very good point. It would be just dunking a filthy sinner and having them rise out of the water the same filthy sinner. If they have not repented and believed, thus putting away the filth of the flesh, baptism is a pointless ritual for them.

  • @BrotherRyanHicks, Does water baptism have any spiritual connotation or is it just a symbol of identification?

  • @VesselsofTruth Well it is a symbol, but there are ALWAYS spiritual aspects to obedience to God. In baptizing people and seeing people baptized I have seen people receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit when they came up out of the water. I have baptized people in ponds, bathtubs, and churches. I have not seen any true convert not want to be baptized in water in obedience to their Lord.

  • brother Hicks, a well put together teaching.

  • no! having a water baptism is to show the world that you are a new man in Christ, plus the man on the cross with Jesus was a criminal but was saved on the cross and was told he was going to Heaven did not have a water baptism. A new Christian will have a desire to have one ,but not b/c if they don't they wont be saved.

  • Amen. This is what I had been led to believe as truth, but you said it much clearer. Thank you brother.

  • @Formertelecomguy God bless you my brother!

  • Great Message! Thanks for sharing Brother Hicks! :)

  • Oops...my 's' was left off of commandment...should be: If you love me obey my commandments.

At any rate water baptism is the final step we take in our salvation. We must embrace the Book of Acts. =)

  • Part 2, If one doesn't become baptized, then one is not fully persuaded. Perhaps this is why after the ';' symbol we do not see the repeated word of 'baptize'. The fact of the matter is Baptism is a command, and Jesus said, "If you love me, obey my commandment."

1 John 5 clearly states There are 3 that testify, Spirit, the water and the blood, and these 3 are in agreement.

Blood atones, Water cleanses, and we are alive via the Spirit. This is clearly what Jesus meant by being born again.

  • We must look at what the water was doing in the time of the flood. It was cleansing the earth of sin. Peter said in Acts 2:38- "Repent and be baptized FOR THE REMISSION OF SIN...." Jesus said He who believes and is baptized shall be saved the that is followed by the ';' in grammer this means what follows is a continuation on the thought. The word in the Greek for believe there means to be FULLY PERSUADED BY, so if Jesus states to he who believes and is baptized, one would just do it. Part 1

  • Interesting, this is the belief that I've always held... but I have a controversial thing to bring up...

I've only read into it a little bit--but from what I read in the first 300 years of the church, they taught that baptism was the actual re-birth, and the remission of sins. And I find this as the overall unifying belief from what I've read also.

I don't hold to that.. but it's something to take in consideration.

  • @droptozro There were varying views in the early church, but I think we are also forgetting how they did things. They would generally baptize people immediately if they claimed faith in Christ (Acts 2:38; 8:36-38). It was not some drawn out process. It was one act and the baptism was the evidence of one's faith in Jesus Christ. If baptism was saving & a part of the gospel then Paul did not know that when he said, "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel" (1 Corinthians 1:17)
