There are some moments when his voice sounds quite weird, like at 2:17... The song could be absolutely beautiful if only he made an effort to sing in tune... He's got a nice voice and a lovely accent, though. He deserves to be better-known.

The Kooks have made a career out of a fake South London/ Jamaican mix. The American accent is also heavily effected by Celtic Irish/Scots vocal stylings which is the forerunner of Rock/Popular music. That doesn't mean I disagree with you, but American is the accent of Rock 'n' Roll and English is the language of Rock 'n' Roll, German & Italian suit Opera etc.

I don't mean to sound like a 'know it all' but the fact is the mid-atlantic accent is the most fluid and easiest for vocalists who sing Rock/Pop etc. Hence bands that sing in foreign accents or regional accents ( Buzzcocks & Artic Monkeys ) sound a little awkward and slightly comical.

I understand what you're saying about all the Twilighters, but if he hadn't been involved in NM (or HP) then I would never have known about him at all. So if you want him to be as successful in his music as he will undoubtedly be in his acting, then you kind of have to be glad that Twilight fans are paying attention to him as they will probably tell their (non Twilight-fan) friends about the band, and remember there is no such thing as bad publicity!
