  • The most beautiful "musical chaos"! Wonderful stuff.

  • nice part of this opera except voice of marilyn horn

  • I love this. Horne is truly one of the greats.

  • Myra Merritt is a boss.

  • I am playing Mustafa in this scene in 5 weeks!!!

  • i think there were 3 people who were listening to something else at the same time?

  • whats the actual song called?

  • @shamitri it's not a song, you idiot

  • ¡Gracias por compartir este video!

  • I love it thank you ^_^. Do you also have to "or che musso" (bad spelling i know) the comes before?

  • Thanks you very much for this video !!!

  • Certified Intergalactic! Montarsolo is the best Mustafa! Very realistic! Great choral delivery at 5:28! Hail to humanity!

  • Wow! Absolute perfection!

  • I love this opera and I Love this production! But hate the dress Ms. Horne is wearing I liked the original from the earlier production, It just looks like she is going horse back riding with Elizabeth I.

  • Hilarious!

  • How adorable Miss Horne is. From my point of view, the best Rossinian mezzosoprano.

  • I must admit they are spectacular. This is absolutely wonderful!

  • Oddio, Montarsolo è irriconoscibile!^^

  • che brava elvira

  • Ms Merritt!! That's my voice teacher!!

  • Excelente! genial!

  • ammm soprano... no.

  • This is my favorite opera song! Amazing energy and blending of vocals!

  • I don't know this version but I know the opera -L'italian in Algeri- and I think this is the craziest musical scene in the history of opera, operetta and musicals. Am I wrong?

  • I love Professor Merritt. She is seriously one of the nicest people I have ever met, and she even accepted me into BG after my audition.

  • Elvira aka Myra Merritt is a professor at my college!!!..I love her such a sweet lady with a beautiful voice

  • Precious video worth remembering.

  • Fantastica la Horne! Brava attrice, oltre che magnifica cantante!

  • Hi, i like very much Montarsolo, can you upload when he sing "gia d'insolito ardore nel petto" please? I'd like to hear sing it, thanks.

  • Thank you sue ann, this is wonderful ... a delight to see and hear.

  • Aqui falta R. BLAKE para Lindoro. Y S. Ramey

  • nowadays, in Athens there is a production of L'italiana with Agnes Baltsa as Isabella

i sing in the chorus and i will download a video from the rehearsals.

it will be great. Baltsa is a Godess!

  • Doug Ahlstedt teaches at my school!

  • Doug Ahlstedt is my teacher! :)

  • This is the Jean Pierre Ponelle production. I saw this on TV from the Met and later saw it live in San Francisco. Funny throughout, and Horne was nothing short of fabulous. She was a truly great singer. And now we must suffer the likes of Anna Netrebko.

  • Cannot imagine how you can compare a mezzo with a soprano - and "suffering" Netrebko must be a pleasure to many. Please RVP57!!

  • Mea culpa, Missy. I heard Neterbko recently and have changed my tune. She was naught short of fabulous on the last night of the BBC Proms.

  • Horne used to sing soprano roles in her prime. She was initially sheduled for that famous Lucrezia that brought fame to Caballe!

  • who is the soprano

  • Myra Merrit as Elvira, and Diane Kesling as Zulma

  • Isn't she great?!?! She teaches at Bowling Green State University. She's really is a great lady! I love Ms. Merritt. It's a shame she doesn't sing anymore :(

  • Love this scene! Fun opera at its best! Thanks a lot...

  • Grazie infinite per questo video divertentissimo!!!

  • Sure to bring a sunshine to a cloudy day!

  • Thank you!!!
