  • what the fuck am I going to do when I run out of QI videos?

  • How did they not go for the easy 'tit' joke?

  • "A female's orifice" is somewhat of a mystery to Stephen.

  • this is what have cats got to do with violins again >I WHAT HAS HAPPENED BBC?

  • I find that woman fucking irritating.

  • whats the idea when someone says a particular word or phrase, it begins to flash nad a siren goes off? im not understanding it

  • @VioIentGoIdFish Some answers are considered obvious and wrong by the show - these are the ones that make the siren go off.

If you're wrong and interesting, you get to talk.

If you're right, you aren't Alan Davies.

  • @Telamnar ahh ok lol, cheers

  • I watched the actual episodes and it turns out in Italy barbers carried out the castrations.

  • someone mistitled the vid.

  • Is this like a Stephen Fry version of a rick roll?

  • Isn't this the Cat/Violin clip that I just watched . . ?

  • That woman was very funny. In the middle of the most sensitive topic of discussion she said, "Cats can choke on small bones."

  • womens? it's quite an annoyance to see a word like that

  • @chrisyang05 It's quite an annoyance to see punctuation like that.

  • The womens kinda annoying

  • @samsung54369

I think you mean "The woman is kind of annoying."

If you're going to use English, learn how to use it properly for god sake.

  • thats the guy from V for vendetta right?!!

  • @sjpc33 if you only know stephen fry from that... i'm sorry for you

  • @sjpc33 It is

  • @sjpc33 yes and in fable 2 and 3:)

  • My cats cry when my dad plays his violin.

  • Would seem this is a double from the cat/violin one.

  • why are they talking about cats and violins?

  • I've always wondered why there was no tittering over the comments on tits....sorry for the pun. And yes, I know a tit is a bird.

  • @SamDLite Maybe it's because Stephen didn't make a boob of himself. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT!

  • @grey7690 Good for you!

  • actually only one factor relates to height, and thats protein, the ability to get sources of protein far more easily these days leads to the increase of height, theres a reason asain people are smaller, they eat mainly carbohydrates.

  • @AnonymousNI that's not entirely true... The Japanese, for instance, live mostly off of soy and fish, both of which are high in protein, in addition to rice, and they're the shortest people on Earth. No, it's animal protein, the kind found in red meat, and milk protein that makes people taller. The milk especially is important; that's why northern Europeans are generally quite tall, while southern Europeans are shorter. And in Japan they don't drink milk at all.

  • @MaiaMadness They do drink milk in Japan but a lot of Asian adults can't digest lactose. Europe's population has the smallest percentage of lactose intolerant adults and Japan the highest. Lactose intolerance is also high amongst African adults. A political group of Afro-Americans tried to have milk removed for workplace coffee rooms claiming it was racially prejudice for employers to provide something solely for whites. Common sense won out and it was forgotten about

  • @binaway Well, yes, I know all that. I'm lactose intolerant myself. And you just sort of confirmed my point. I suppose I should have said that they TRADITIONALLY don't drink milk at all. The fact that younger people are getting taller is very telling, as they now ingest more mammalian protein than before. Honestly, though, they use very little milk in Japan. I looked for it in a shop when I was there, all I found was strawberry flavoured hyper-pasturised crap.

  • @binaway Africans being taller, while not being able to drink milk can be explained by them eating quite a lot of mammalian protein in the form of meat, being their primary source of nutrition. (There are exceptions; the Masai traditionally use milk and are NOT lactose intolerant.) In many parts of Africa, they eat the whole animal, including the bones.

  • Eating healthier food doesn't make you a foot taller than a kid who drinks coke.

    That just doesn't work.

You don't wanna get into a debate so I won't provide evidence, but if you ask I will.

  • Cats are not, well, used, in making violins. But they are used for making the shamisen. If I'm not wrong, it's the skin that's used.

  • i think this is the wrong clip

  • So what does this have to do with barbers or castrati?

  • @CrnchyBnn

I think the BBC have fucked up.....AGAIN!

  • There were also some sheep in Australia which were climbing on top of each other to get over fences.

  • isn't the word "creationist science" an oxymoron.

  • @freekicking85 That's two words??

  • @freekicking85 it's also two words.

  • @freekicking85 ur a auximoron

  • @ozipk it's spelled oxymoron, you moron!

  • @supremeoverlord132 Yeah it's also "you're" and "an" but I guess you didn't detect the irony. American are you?

  • @ozipk wow, way to take a joke... and I am actually an Australian but I like that sounding stupid automatically makes you and American :P

  • @supremeoverlord132 Haha :P

  • @freekicking85 depends how you look at it. You could say that we are only able to perceive things within our own scale ie, smallest being a sub atomic particle and largest being the universe as a whole. "the creator" could have been doing his own CERN/LHC equivalent experiment on his own scale and accidentally created the universe. His mini big bang was our own. Theres another theory in this too but I can't be bothered lol

  • @freekicking85 That's two words.

    Someone already say that?

  • @freekicking85

It isn't only an oxymoron it is also a pathetic attempt by creationists to lend credibility to their arguments. Kind of like calling creationism "Intelligent Design" or trying to pass of ridiculous ideas to justify the existence of God as theories.

  • @freekicking85 So is 'Christian Atheist' but they exist too.

  • also, when played by beginners, violins sound like dying cats

  • I was able to make it through most of this vid without laughing until she said "cats can choke on small bones."

  • Just because an animal learns something new, it doesn't mean it's changing into something else.

  • Part of what their talking about here is the 100th monkey syndrome, its that if around 10% of the population of a species learn a trait that helps them it will then become inherent in all of them, benefiting animal instinct, I guess maybe proving creationists wrong.

  • It doesn't prove creationist science wrong. The species doesn't have to physically evolve to aquire these traits, eg. grow a second thumb, so it doesn't compliment evolutionary science any more than it disproves creationist science.

  • I did make that comment a while ago, my comment is about what their discussing 0:56 - 1:16 and the oneness of conciousness inherent in species.

  • Nor does that prove creationist science wrong. Basic survival tools, fire, clothing, shelter etc.,came to all mankind at approximately the same time despite geographical separation. It isn't evolution, it's progression.

  • creationist science. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Doesn't need to be disproved, its more a comedy anyway.

  • Idiot.

You should try actually knowing what the fuck you're talking about before you argue with people who do. IT's a refreshing experience.

Lucy is very different from a monkey, fuck even gorillas and chimps are very different from monkeys.

100% of evidence backs up evolution as being the method through which we adapt and change to better survive in our environment.

Your sky daddy has not 1 iota of proof or evidence supporting its existence.

  • umm actually your the one whos wrong all austropithacines are the basic forms of apes ,, you have no idea what your talking about when i worked with don he him self said he didnt know what he had the 47 bone fragments just are nt conclusive ,,, and they had to re cut her hips to turn them ,,, sorry your a joke ,,, al2881 it nothing more than a ape like all Australopithecus ,,, now go and learn what your talking about ! you dont understand funding ,,,, do you ?

  • FUcking moron.

We are nothing more than basic forms of apes. You're correct, the one specimen doesn't make a conclusive argument. Put all of the evidence together and it's self fucking evident.

You're not talking about evolution, you're talking about the missing link of human evolution.

  • nice ,,, 8 ]

  • @lesterclaypool1 Guess what.

Im tall. My brother is also tall.

My mother and father are both tall.

My girlfriend is short. Her sister is also short.

Her mother and father are both short.

See a pattern there? If your parents have a certain physical trait, it will USUALLY be passed down to you, and if you have a child with somebody who has this same trait, and that child does the same, and so forth, you will end up with something completely different.

    Evolution dipfuck.

  • yes we all know that ,,, and indeed what does that have to do with what i said ? yes fish swim and birds fly ,,, but as i said al 2881 was a ape and we have nt found one like it any where let alone put one together like it ,,, and heres the facts never has so much been made out of so little ,,, and im sure you know what Don said about her right ? and we have not found one like it or know any thing about her ,,, thanks dipshit 8 \

  • No, you were trying to disprove evolution, and all I was stating is that if you look, and you don't need to look hard, is that you can watch evolution yourself.

a hundred years ago people were on average a foot shorter than today. (I am aware that is an exxageration but that isn't the point) So do you think that six thousand years ago we looked exactly the same, except we were on average 7 inches tall?

    No, we were different creatures.

  • Yeah, genetic disposition.

And given time, genetic disposition turns into evolution.

    It's that simple.

  • Evolution is the result of many genetic alterations.

  • or all of em?

  • very true and i dont kno why this i marked so low, this is perfectly rational

  • "It started with tits" XD lovely name for birds

  • wtf is with these ads!

  • what adverts?

  • Unfortunately BBC Worldwide is allowed to have advertisments, no form of the BBC Media in the UK is allowed to make money from advertisments however outside the UK, they go blooming mental.

  • ah, so people outside the uk only get adverts? clever, and im glad im immune

  • Before the video loaded, I got an advert and I live in the UK.

  • So did I and I'm also from the UK, dunno it could just be that its the general wordwide YouTube site and not the national one...? Don't know why. However most of the time I don't have to sit through an advertisment.

  • I don't know why Google seems to be sticking ads on the BBCWorldwide channel.

Press F5 as soon as the video starts to load and it will miss out the advert.

  • im glad i have no ads :D

  • This ad things sounds horrible, I'm so glad I don't have it. :)

  • sod the adverts i got a bloody error

  • refresh the page to avoid the ad'

  • Not moonpig! NO!!!

  • I don't see these adverts that everyone is talking about.

  • I'm not watching the ad and thus not watching the video, well done youtube, you succeed in nothing!

And off I go to steal said programs.

  • what adverts?

  • fucking adverts

  • By Dogs.

  • And what exactly, Mr. BBC does any of this have to do with barbers and castrati???

Honesty in advertising. Much needed here.

  • When Fry mentioned that one of the earliest examples of morphic resonance was in tits, my silly American mind suddenly sprang on the image of womens breasts communicating themselves to mens minds morphically. (!)

  • Now I cant get that image out of my head...cant stop laughing at that =)

  • I think they probably do, it'd explain why we cant stop looking at the lady bumps

  • It never ceases to amaze me at the wealth of knowledge that is Stephen Fry. Why can't BBC Canada show repeats of this instead of 'What not to wear'.

  • I acnt understand him - What did sheep get over by lying on heir backs?

  • a cattle grid

  • Love QI XD jeez people I know it's a bit random sometimes, but people go off on tangents, that's where half the humor comes from, it's the idea of the show! Brits have the best humour!!!

  • yeah, belfast was hilarious

  • im gonna have to assume it was a blowjob joke.

  • AdiG1 she got on Q.I. by being a well loved comedian. She was known for a regular panelist on various radio 4 programs like the news quiz and was voted "Wittiest Living Person" by listeners in 2002.

  • That's not a nice thing to say when she's dead.

  • Did not know that. Sad she's dead, still not funny.

  • An irrelevant argument there. She's dead so she must have been lovely and likeable? Just because she's dead doesn't mean that people who hated her (like n0nvocatus) now must love her. Saddam Hussein has been executed. God, hated that bastard. Ooh, that's not nice! He's dead now. So? Be he dead or alive he was still a bastard. And yes, she annoyed me too.

  • What does that matter? She's dead so she must have been lovely and likeable? Just because she's dead doesn't mean that people who hated her (like n0nvocatus) now must love her. Saddam Hussein has been executed. God, hated that bastard. Ooh, that's not nice! He's dead now. So? I still thought he was a bastard. See?

  • Comment removed

  • she probably wasn't quite as bad a person as Saddam Hussein. Thanks for the 'explanatory' analogical paragraph nonetheless...

  • No, no! I wasn't saying that she was anywhere near as bad! I was just using it as a hyperbole to show that just because someone's dead doesn't mean that everyone should love them all of a sudden. Look at Jade Goody for a better example. (And then read her entry on uncyclopedia.) Thanks for the reply anywho.

  • Agreed, since she died, Jade has been compared to Princess Di... im sorry but I dont see it myself. Parkinson has been slated for speaking out about this & I agree with him, Jade was not a saint so why has she been almost idolised

  • simply because she has died. it is often the case that just because someone has died, they could never have done a ting wrong. that is a total myth. in my eyes, she was and still leaves a legacy of racism and a cheap mercenary career

  • She has toured since 1983 and has actually raised LOTS of money for anti-racism campaigns, u didnt know her !! Respect the dead. Your comment show no compassion for the friends and families !! That in itself is a form of abuse ! If you answer back you obviously love bitching about dead ppl without them being able to defend themselves ! Nobody is perfect and we all break the law, which I agree with you..... Smith wasnt racist and lived in a multicultural society !!

  • I have no idea who you are talking about. I was discussing Jade Goody..

  • LMAO sorry m8 I thought u chatted about Linda, my deepest apologies.

  • Not at all, I am myself a great supporter of Linda Smith. Sorry if I caused ambiguity.

  • this had nothing to do with barbers and castrati

  • Sheep are tasty little buggers.

  • lol :D

  • That's what I love about QI. You laugh your ass off, and you learn useless knowledge at the same time.

  • this is either the wrong video or the wrong title.

  • i luv this show!
