Australia groups many non violent offences into the cattegory such as threats,intent, and even car accidents. Hard to compare the countries when they all don't consider violent offences the same thing.

1) Self Defense
2) Home Defense

The reason for individual ownership:
1. Deterrence to enemies, foreign and domestic.
2. Deterrence to government from becoming tyrannical.
The interpretation of the 2nd Amendment must be individual for it to be consistent with the other Amendments.
Otherwise, why would the people have a right to free speech when the government can use their "right to guns" to silence that speech?

And if you were wondering, the kind of restrictions I think are silly are magazine capacity limitations (a trained shooter can reload in a little over ONE SECOND, so whether a magazine holds 10 or 30 is no object to a killer), and limitations on features a gun can have, i.e. a bayonet lug (when have you ever heard of anyone being killed by a FUCKING BAYONET?!) and a silencer-threaded barrel (when is the last time a criminal used a silenced gun?) Those laws are LUNACY!

The laws I do support are the sensible ones: No guns in bars or schools, no sawed off shotguns, no pistols may be purchased by felons, etc.

gun control applies to citizens not security guards and police. plus, the very fact that this fictional character in his mugging scenario had a gun in the first place doesnt justify the fictional old lady almost killing him. its not like she wouldnt be able to fend off a mugger with a taser or pepper spray or anything like that. those situations were retarded.
