A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum Part 12 of 14

I just completed the role of Hysterium..I had a ball with it and I hamed it up and the audiences loved it. I stole the sceond Act. I flirted with Psueduols and then dance around and even played with memeber sof the audience sitting in the crowd. This was the first time I had ever performed in and arena theater so it was a wonderful experience. I would say to any guy who gets the part of Hysterium, DO IT!!!. This has been the best show I have had the pleasure of performing in.

I think it's also too common for high-school productions of this show to try to make the show less suggestive. I saw a terrible version of "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid" on YouTube in which Senex replaces "leaning down" with "I like cake!" : < What I love about this version is that it adds stuff (like the suggestion that the footsoldier is gay) rather than taking stuff out. Of course our production had a naked Venus statue that Pseudolus rips the toga off of in the opening numger : )

I got the part of Hysterium for this musical at our school. This scene will be very embarassing for me lol.

this is the best part of the show. You will be the toast of your audience for playing Hysterium. The great thing about acting is getting to dress up like a girl, but you'll still be a man, becsue the girls will know you did if for the part. You'll have a ton of girlfriends after this. They love to see a guys vulnerable side. :) Break a leg.

Thank you! I really wanted the part of Pseudoleus, but it went to a girl instead. I was really disappointed, but now I'm happy about being Hysterium. It's a very fun character to play. You get to shout and freak out all the time! Dressing up as a girl will be kind of embarassing, but it will be really hilarious for the audience. I doubt I will get any girlfriends from playing the role, but that would be cool if that did happen lol.
