Great! But only one bass? I am a bassist myself so I advocate more basses in an orchestra. I'm not complaining but why only one?

@samdajellybeenie14 It's likely there are many more than what is simply in the frame. However, for Mozart it's not unique to only have 2 or 3 basses because the sound requires a light texture, and a bass is anything but (in an orchestra). Regardless, just because you can't see the other bass(es) doesn't mean they aren't there. I could look at this and say, "why are there only 8 violinist?" I can tell just by the sound that there are more.

This performance is great-- strong and up-beat, as I like to hear this Haffner Symphony. This one was a real stroke of genius on Mozart's part, yes? So bright and festive and lively. Oh, that second movement! That is stunningly gorgeous. If I had to complain (and I don't), it would be about the weak sound quality of this video. Also, unfortunately, many of the attendees seem to have had colds. If I didn't know better I'd say some of them were even being a bit rude. But the tympanist rocks.
