  • If this ain't Hendrix, then whoever it is ought to get out here, show himself and make a million pal...

  • Not sure if I buy it, that doesn't sound like a recording from the period, or for that matter Hendrixs'. It has a few "trademark" licks, but that's about it. Listen to "Red House" for his blues style.

  • It's Hendrix, dah.

  • this is jimi, and who said it wasnt him you can hear him like "yea" and at one point "yeaaaaaaaa"

  • Of course it's Hendrix. Who's doubting it. All you need do is listen. His tone and style is unmistakable.

  • Let's heare it for Pat Travers excellent version!!!

  • 5 people lent Jimi guitars and still hold a grudge

  • Jimi makes the guitar talk in a special way

  • I think the 5 dislikes came from people who "slipped" when trying to thumb up.

  • Live fast and die fast

  • @buzztopburnett live fast and die young is the phrase my friend. And he sure did.

  • music is music. sound is sound. both will always exist. true musicians see no point in listing who the fucks better. just listen and learn and maybe the blues will one day flow through your own fingers and you'll see what i mean. music is expression not competition.

  • @g3rbl Well said my friend, I was around when Jimi got started.

  • Like this comment if you know the blues legend who originally recorded this song...WITHOUT going to Wikipedia

  • @PopShuvIt247 Without going to Wikipedia... Well, Justin Beiber perhaps? Seriously, I hate JB referenses but I thought it was a bit funny. Sorry, bad joke.

  • Where did that imagination come from (rhetorical question)? This is the kind of performance that makes us think that Hendrix belongs in the same general area as Bird and Pres. So much more than a pop star!!!!! Thank you for posting this wonderful performance!

  • I die when I hear this tune

  • I know its sacrilage to say so but bits of this sound horrible. Its obviously been released after his death and I think he would have cringed if he had known that it got out! Its just a loose jam where he is experimenting with a very weedy recording of his guitar.

Just because hes acknowledged as the greatest ever guitarist it doesnt mean everything he did was great. OK, open fire!

  • @franklinrwful You´re absolutely right. Some of it is good though.

  • @franklinrwful I wouldnt argue with that my friend. That goes for every musician.

  • who can dislike this???? this is great....

  • All this debate is for nothing! Three notes in and you know it's Hendrix, and it's awesome.

  • I have studied Jimi Hendrix for 40years & I know this is true Hendrix @ his best ......so listen & enjoy!

  • I don't need to google shit. nobody can play like Jimi.

  • This is Jimi. I have it on a CD somewhere. I'm not going to dig it out to prove anything because those of us how know Jimi know it is his playing and his voice.

  • I played with Buddy Guy in Chicago. I was on tour with Albert King and Buddy and Junior Wells when they performed with us thru out Europe. I am on the "In Session Album" with Stevie Ray Vaughn. I have never heard Buddy play anything near this. Buddy is a great guitarist but never played octaves like the ones at 4:40. Jimi did this song in honor of Albert King. Albert released it in '67.

  • It is Jimi. This version is on "Hendrix: Blues"

  • It MUST be Jimi, it's not good enough for Rory Gallagher or Paul Kossoff, and it's way better than all the rest out there! These aren't notes being played, it's the sound of a soul that you can hear. The only three people on the Earth that the electric guitar was invented for have died, so the rest can go burn theirs, yup, including you! :-)

  • Jimi's playing is great here, but the bass needs a different tone and some sustain.

  • @SACKONUTS2112 .....It is Jimi! Why would someone give a great performance like this and get zero credit for it? I mean if someone could play as good as Jimi, wouldn't they want to make a name for themselves and make some money?

  • @SuperWigglyWorm ....I love Buddy Guy! Buddy Guy is still alive. I think he would have said something already if one of his performances was on a successful Jimi Hendrix cd.

  • I know you say it's Jimi but certainly does sound like Buddy Guy

  • Only the none believers of the master will hit the dislikes.

  • Who care if it's Jimi or not?! If someone wants to throw down some badass blues licks and let someone else have the credit? Their prerogative.......

    .

  • Dont know for sure if that's Jimi... BUT... its got his phrasing, his transitions, his use of the effects available then (wah pedal, guitar switches, and some serious Marshalls), his slightly off-key notes that get bent into something out of this world, and ok so basically there wasn't ANYBODY else playing like this at that time. Check out 2:07-4:00, that is sooo Jimi. Be completely shocked if it wasn't.

  • @ghosted760 It IS Jimi.If you believe otherwise, then you have more listening to do.

  • Who can believe it's not Jimi ?!!!

Just hear a little of the 69-70' years with the Gipsy band, it's Jimi of course... One who doesn't think it's Jimi doesn't know Jimi's playing... (sorry my poor english)

  • Alright if google isn't good enough for you dumbasses who don't belive it, go buy the CDs like any real Hendrix fan would. The internet is great for free music but if you love an artist. BUY THE CD, not only do you support them but you will be correct when trying to argue music on the internet.

  • Definitely IS James Marshall Hendrix. . .

It's from one of the studio tapes released after his death . . .

  • It's Jimi alright, no question. This takes me to places I enjoy deeply :)

  • if you can't tell that's jimi, there ain't no help for you.

  • ...them days them days them rockin old days born under a bad sing in a daze!

  • 5 were born under a stupid sign

  • Jimi YOU are the King of Guitar& Kuul bless you for all your music man!!

  • what a great sound!

  • can tell it's jimi hendrix by the fact he makes your body drip

  • ps bell and jones wrote the song, they didn't play it on tthe blues album

  • I have this recording on my jimi hendrix "blues" album also

  • This only has one name: JIMI HENDRIX

  • Who cares if it's Jimi or not? Blues is blues. If you like it, you just sit back and enjoy it. I saw a retired sheriff's deputy (white country boy) get up with our band at a wedding one time and sang and played stormy Monday on our singer's guitar (a real piece of crap!). It was amazing. I think it may still be the best blues performance I've ever witnessed! But, Jimi is still the best blues player ever.

  • its 2;30 a.m here in tulsa,ok & i am most definately fuckd up !!!! this shit rocks !!! thank u jimi !! 1 more toke 1 more beer never fear im outta here !!! tranquilitty base !!! over & out

  • THESE COMMENTS MAKE ME PUKE.

  • hendrix is god, clapton sucks, he aint got no groove like jimi

  • @TheWhiteboxx Listen to Crossroads by Cream, it might change your mind.

  • @franklinrwful Eric Clapton did the solo in the Movie at the crossroads when the devil appeared.

  • @JOHNDEEBANK I thought Ry Cooder and Steve Vai played the guitar parts in that film.

  • @TheWhiteboxx jimi was a clapton fan so shut up kid :)

  • @kemotox yes but clapton was not to fond of jimmi expecially after he up staged him in england cheak out the vid its so sick clapton walks off, not say anything bad cause clapton is number two for sure in my book

  • GOD

  • its funny that people would even think a situation like this would be plausible. In all logic the theory suggested is ridiculous. Hendrix was a very good guitarist who liked to do his own thing, his own style. In what logic would he need to have someone play for him, while he takes the credit for playing?

  • its me, i recorded this way back.

  • whoever says this isnt jimi is a dipshit.

  • @firelement jimi would never call anyone a dipshit.

  • Actually, on the jimi Blues Album, born under a bad sign is done by Booker T. Jones and William Bell. infact im looking at it right now :D

  • @whatsupdoc11092 they were the composers of the original piece. Jimi was the guitarist on the blues album.

  • pass the mushrooms please !

  • Superb footage thanks for posting !!

  • Saw Jimi live in 1968 and again in 69, seen Randy Hansen too-and he is very good impersonator, but he is in no way an original artist. So you little guys (I am sure you are all guys, women wouldn't bother) are just silly. It is either Jimi or it is a big plot where Randy Hansen imitates everything original that Hendrix created on his own. So in the end, you are hearing Hendrix, either way. Long live the music of Jimi Hendrix. By the way, in August 1968, Jimi was absolutely mind-blowing live.

  • This isn't Hendrix. He was much more fluid than this. Very good reproduction, but he did it effortlessly. I know, I watched him play it!

  • @prdood01 hey fooker , this is on the blues cd of jimi hendrix , don't guess its jimi , just check your sources before you form your opinion, you fail!

  • Another example how you couldn't keep the great H in the "blues" box. Always experimenting and constantly looking for new sounds and music. On electric lady land, the live version of the two voodo child's on the album: in the live version Hendrix gives the keyboardist free reign at one point. the guy goes off into this sorta half scottish bagpipes/Indian raga, and Hendrix just slips in perfectly with no blues sound. If H lived, he'd be composing symphonies. blues are great, H greater.

  • the moon landings were fake, 911 was an inside job and this is not jimi....it's all one big conspiracy.....TWATS!

  • @stardust260872 911 was an inside job. Please look into it. And please overlook the nut jobs who claim all sorts of strange things. Treat it as a genuinely questionable piece of of very relevant recent history. Obviously draw your own conclusions but don't just accept what the telebox tells you. Read what the experts say. Accessible history has rarely been written by the people who came out second best. The one good thing mass communication has afforded us: a glimpse of undoctored open debate.

  • All you people saying this is not Hendrix give me ONE example of someone else who can play like this... And don't give me that randy hansen bullshit

  • @barkeepted1 ....Alright, I'm sick of all you doubters who claim that this isn't Jimi. I say, without a doubt that this is indeed Jimi Hendrix playing. I've already Googled the information that say's it is Jimi. So instead of guesses and opinions, you need to prove to me that this isn't Jimi. Provide a link where I can go that proves this performance isn't Jimi Hendrix. You have to prove your claim.

  • @SCWoodbury2009 not saying this is or isn't a negative, but the burden of proof lies on those claiming it IS hendrix. You can't ask someone to prove a negative. You prove to me there isn't a teapot at the centre of the universe.

  • @SCWoodbury2009 okay, okay, of course you're right; I take it back. It's Jimi. Even wiki says so. I was in a funny mood that day and missin' J more than usual. Apologies all round. Soz J, not that you'd really mind. Much love to all. x

  • @SCWoodbury2009 IM WITH YOU , THIS IS DEF. HENDRIX

  • @SCWoodbury2009 no doubt..... that is Jimi.

  • because google is always right, guys! they "googled it"!!

  • @JennibalLecter Google is the God's word it can't be wrong.

  • @suheyl13 LOL! That is funny, thanks for the laugh.

  • @JennibalLecter ..... Alright then, find me some information that's not searched on Google and prove to me that this isn't Jimi Hendrix. What do you have for me?

  • @barkeepted1 Anyone who say's it isn't Jimi believes in Bigfoot and 9/11 was an inside job.

  • @barkeepted1 I hate to inform you, Mate.....It definitely is Jimi! I was in the audience when he played it!!!

  • @arizonan4u That auta shut um up. Wish I was there w/you!

  • @barkeepted1 it's jimi. this recording is off the jimi hendrix "blues" album.

  • @barkeepted1 are you an idiot i have this album of jimi, of course its jimi hendrix please tell who it would be if it wasnt him, so im sorry your wrong, ok

  • @barkeepted1 lmfao.... this is JIMI...... i have this exact song on my album... you can even hear him grinning while hes playing.... open you ears. =D

  • @barkeepted1 You are sadly mistaken friend, this is Jimi, and it is Jimi fucking smokin....

  • @barkeepted1 <<<just shut the fuck up and listen...fucking you almost made me click to the next thing on my list...

  • LOL, I Cannot Tell You If Hendrix Played This,However My Grandffather Was an Advertising Executive In the 50s,60s,70sNewyork and Worked For Various Company's Such as Columbia Pictures Even Earler Than That,He was Not into the Music Scene Like I Am But He Knew Them All!Owned Parrish Press in NYC,etc, anyways I never Got a Chance To meet Him But i Found a List in his old Suitcase in My Attic with a List Of Some material,Songs, autographs,Pics,It also Included old albums with this Song,Its real!

  • This is a fucking masterpiece!!! PLAYED BY HENDRIX!!!

  • ...this is undeniably Hendrix. It's as Hendrix as it gets even though it was produced by Alan Douglas and EK wasn't involved.

  • Pretty clueless of anyone here to say his manager was killed in a car crash when it was a mid-air plane collision.

  • Sup? I know he can sing

  • Pretty clueless here of anyone to refer to any "manager" of Jimi's, when it was one such manager who killed him for 2 mill of insurance money (and shortly after died in a car crash, making it all a waste of time and effort, anyway). What you are probably trying to grasp at is Jimi's original producer Eddie Kramer, and yes, he is authorized by the Hendrix estate, and yes, this is the real Jimi playing on this recording.

  • Who ever says this is not Hendrix is a dumb mother fucker

  • Who ever this is, he's a great guitar player. Jimmies guitar is spiritual, it speaks to your soul, this guy is just a good guitar player. Jimmy page speaks to your soul, the guy from deep purple, the same thing, it's like they made that pack.

  • I played Jimi on broadway in 1978 when I was kid, I know Jimi very well and yes this is Jimi. And yes Randy Hanson is the best Jimi tribute guy alive "God Bless him.

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • what a MASTERPIECE...

  • What can truly be said that hasn't already been said by so many others ? I do not idolize nor do I envy him or his gift. I have my own gift as all do. I can only say that this is one of the very few who have this gift of speaking in tounges through the guitar. Thank You Lord for allowing it to enter my ears. I am truly humbled. Amen

  • If it ain't Jimi .....we need to find who it is....cause he's got all the Hendrix....cues....

  • @kingobarstow

it is hendrix,go hear some from electric church album

  • A bootleg without a visual is just a bootleg.Jimi is the greatest ever, how can you guys accept a bootleg without a visual on anyone, let alone Jimi. There is supposed to be a whole catalog of unreleased Hendrix. When I want a Hendrix fix,I listen to the first 3 and the live concerts. When I want to see the greatest Hendrix clone in person,I see Randy Hansen, nobody plays Jimi better.

  • @1512735 Where is your proof that this track isn't Jimi himself playing? This track comes from the 'Blues' album that his estate authorize themselves. Why would his estate take a chance on releasing something and claiming that it's Jimi only to have people find out it isn't? You know what I think you're doing? I think you're trying to cause a stir for the purpose of selling this Randy Hansen person? You want tell people about Randy Henson by claiming something that isn't true.

  • @SCWoodbury2009

I believe this is Jimi. But FYI this Randy Hansen person as you call him is also blessed by the Hendrix family. Google him and check out his website

  • @twodux77 ...So are you then suggesting that the Hendrix family hires Randy Hansen to play, then they reocrd him and release cd's under the name of Jimi Hendrix? Is this what you are claiming to me?

  • @SCWoodbury2009 Not at all. I am telling you that Randy is the only JImi Hendrix tribute artist who has the blessing of the Hendrix family. Randy is all over youtube. You ought to check him out. Personally I think he's better live that Jimi was. I know that's going to sound crazy, but every live performance I've seen of Jimi were nowhere near his studio stuff. Jimi was great innovating and in the studio. Randy is great live.

  • @twodux77

Search Randy Hansen, Manic Depression on Youtube and go to about the 2;00 mark and check out the lead. Or, I Don't Live Today" performed by Randy Hansen & Buddy Miles

  • @twodux77 ....I guess you never listened to Jimi playing at Woodstock. Try listening to "Woodstock Improvisation" and "Villanova Junction". Then again, you'll probably listen to it and claim that's not really Jimi playing at Woodstock, because behind the stage was this white guy name Randy Hansen who was actually playing the guitar. Jimi Hendrix was one of a kind. Your Randy guy is just an imitator.

  • @SCWoodbury2009 yea, im pretty sure u just nailed it bro.

    1512735, ur a douschbag

mr. wood thx for posting, i just wish he wuda sang it too.

hendrix has an awsome voice. i almost wanna call it a careless voice. like man, i'm playin a mean blues song- do i even have to sing? NO! lol thx

  • @1512735 What's your point? something wrong with this song?

  • Comment removed

  • Peace brother. I have my own visual in my head and Wow, anyway I love the music !!!

  • I'm glad you guys love Jimi as I do,but the fact is Al hendrix,Jimi's father didn't get the rights back till"95".He has passed and now Leon and Janie are at each other.Alan Douglas controlled the rights after Jimi passed and got rich on every post Jimi's album afterwards.I was born in 1953,I remember this shit going down and I remember Jimi's sound. Most musicians from my day don't accept bootlegs or any music without a visual. The Hendrix family is now about money.Unfinished music after death"No"

  • thanks to Paul Allen they own all the rights. this is Jimi cuz it's from a bootleg. learn your self

  • I'm sorry but this is NOT JIMI,this is that music supposely unfinished in the studio. We know his old manager did this for financial gain. The hendrix family owns all the rights to all of Jimi's music and this song is not in their catalog.

  • @1512735 This is too Jimi. It's from the 'Blues' album that his family later authorized and re-released. If it wasn't Jimi, why would his family re-release it and claim that it is? Besides, who else plays like this?

  • @SCWoodbury2009 I don't know, I think God tried playing this once

  • @1512735 your a fucking dumb ass understand what greatness is when you hear it mate.

  • @1512735 its his style. we know its jimi so stop it. all you have to do is listen to know its him.

  • @NANDO218 yep...

  • @1512735 Sorry, but you are SO WRONG... this is clearly Hendrix... Listen to it, it's Hendrix. This "manager" thing you talk about is BS. it was actually some of the acts he toured with before he got big that released material suposedly "with Hendrix" that didn't have him on it (lonnie youngblood)... THIS is Hendrix.

  • Only a fool would hear this and suggest he was not a blues Guitarist... Listen to that juicy craft very carefully..

  • It was 1971, I was 5 years old when I heard JIMI play. From that point on I've been guided by the force that JIMI is. Fly on brother JIMI on through the sky.

  • Heaven Yeah!!! :)

  • this is music from heaven

  • I am "THE JOHNNY WALKER EXPERIENCE"

  • Who plays bass on this song? It's not Noel Redding is it?

  • @irishbug14 uhh no.

  • @irishbug14 most probably Hendrix himself cuz this is a studio jam.

Redding was already 86'd from the band at this time.

  • WTF!? I didnt even know this existed! Thanks for the upload!

  • I beat off to this

  • Comment removed

  • Don't start me off.... oh you've done it now, I can recomend JMH tracks to you ALL day. Jimi.... if there's any way you can read this flying through the ether.... I love you mate.

Get a listen to 'Nine to the Universe. Track 1-5... mesmerising...

  • three people like dubstep and disliked this. they should de :)

  • Everyone needs to listen to the Live at the Fillmore East and Band of Gypsy's album if they enjoyed this.

  • I love how you can hear him push his amp and she finely gives up...

  • @hollandampsguy will do!

  • Please correct the description: it's out-fucking-standing not outstanding!

  • i love that everyone gangs up on the people who push dislike just to piss people off. the people who don't listen to our music don't even know what blues is so they cant hate what they dont know

  • 3 people are a waste of existence

  • YESSS! The best version of Albert King's "Born under a bad sign".

    Jimi Hendrix for ever!

    Rest in peace Jimi!

  • Jimi got kicked out of a lotta great bands they did him a favor when a light burns that bright ya gotta let it shine.

  • I always wanted to see Jimi Hendrix in concert... LIVE! Unfortunetly... I was born in the wrong decade... WHY!?!?!

Nowadays, its the fucktard bieber and friends... No freaking talent! Just BS.
