  • I'm a Dj and there good. Just not great for big venues

  • Just a note mate, the 400 Watts is at PEAK, not RMS which is only about half of this. I have made this mistake myself. Nice bit of kit though.

  • good review... only thing missing is them being cranked up

  • @binnothe1 Whats the point in doing that in the video when the mic I used to record this video was rubbish.

  • Do you recommend those speakers?!

  • @msfilms123 I would for the money.

  • @msfilms123 do u recommend them for DJ ing

  • @kipperfeever Yes, thats what I use them for...

  • Do you recommend those speakers?!

  • Hey, im a bit of a noob when it comes to PA systems, but just to clarify, if i wanted to use this as a PA for a band, i could run mics from the guitars drums and vocals into a channel mixer/EQ ( say, a TAPCO 12 channel or something) and run the output into two of these bad boys and have a pretty good sound?

  • @ohjames88 Yeah that are good I think, you maybe want to put some subs with it depending on how loud you want the music but I would just say they are very nice and clear sounding speakers.

  • @XiV3NGANC3iX Yes it is has it's own amp in

  • Hey m8, It came to me yesterday that I had forgot that I had my latency set to medium on my soundcard, so I switchd it from 3.5 ms to 5.5ms and it sounds significantly better. Not perfect audio, but its good

Now my only problem is the Overload light. I have my main volume on my DJ program to -2.1db, the volume at 1/2 on the speaker + Ultramize ON. The overload light turns on if I raise the Main Output on my speaker past -3db and the gain for the channels past -5db. Its 2 low to use for a party

  • I just bought one today and for some reason the sound doesn't sound clear. I've set everything up correctly and got the gain + main output set to 0 DB and doesn't hit red, but I can't even turn up my speaker to 1/2 volume without the overload light turning on. I've tried several different songs and it only sounds clear during the intro and once the beat kicks in its distorted/muffled.

Should i return it for a new one?

  • @ipfreely23 Hm, that sounds weird. Give them people a phone who you bought it of and see what they say about it. It could be your putting to much bass through because that happens to me alot then it goes on red so I have to turn it down.

  • A really nice reviev ...Good work mate

  • @djsoundse Thank you.

  • what you said about the subwoofer on the back fo the subs there 2 inputs and 4 outputs - 2 outs for the fullrange and 2 outs for a filter so that you can feed the thumps high/mid eqs.

  • @tksoundandlight Ok, thanks. Well I really need to buy two more of the newer ones which would mean 1.6K watt max and then put two of them in the centre on the floor to use as bass speakers which should work until I get more money for bass speakers.

  • thanks dude, that was helpful. i'd like to get mackie srm450s but i think our bands budget will have us getting a pair of thumps....

  • @thebluedoughboy my mate who plays in a band - i'm a mobile dj - he was tellin me that he tested a pair of srm450v2's against the thumps and there was now real resona to justify the extra cost for a pair of srm450v2's.

I used his setup of 2 x thumps and 2 x sw1501 subs at a wedding last week. The sound was just unbelievable, Even at very high volumes, the clarity of the sound was second to none.

  • BEST MACKIE TAPCO TH-15A VERY SOUND
