Is there some sort of a translation as to what they're chanting??

  • @demenka Google: Nichiren Gongyo. Pretty sure this is the Gongyo. If I'm incorrect, I'd recommend visting the posted link (in the description).

  • May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness. May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.

May all sentient beings have joy and the causes of joy. May all sentient beings remain in great equanimity, free from attachment and aversion!

  • This is awesome. Where can I find more music like this? I prefer pure chanting.

    Thanks

  • @osmosys808 lol.

  • @kongsavl Yeah yeah yeah I get it dumb sentence...

  • wow

  • My rule of thumb is not to follow any religion that cannot occassionally make fun of itself. I love the fact that these highly spiritual chants can bring smiles and even laughter. The jewel is, indeed, in the lotus!

  • Going once!

  • They sound like they would make some awesome auctioneers. Honestly though, that must be HARD to remember and do like that. Very well done.

  • Wow, I don't envy the monks that have to memorize something like this.

  • @scratchyflame hopefully theres a chorus that repeats somewhere in there ;)

  • i am very hapy for i can see.. that evrybody here is expert obout chanting.... i am not good neither to write englease....... sorry for my ignorance all......

    you experts.................

  • This reminds me of the chanting dome by some Hindu priests. Very fast. Personally, I do not not like fast chanting. Chanting should be done at normal or slow speed and with devotion and with a soft, sweet voice and melody.. Not like this. It sounds almost gibberish this way. Not very nice.

  • @skanthavelu oh really? who asked for your opinion on chanting speed. I feel like we both have wasted our time posting.

  • @Slaprox Hey! People are entitled to their oppinions, ok?

  • O.O Too fast gahhh actually for second thought it seems like a catchy folklore tune. lol I love chants but this one sounds like its singing folklore o_O without the banjo and fiddlin' o.o

  • @phanggrl Hahahahahahaha! ROTFL

  • budddhist monks chanting morning gongyo (assiduous practice) ie portions of the Hoben & Juryo chapters of the Lotus Sutra. Alive & well throughout the world practised by Nichiren Buddhists. Want to know more? look up SGI- USA, Uk or include your country. Transform your life.

  • Why is there anger in this bage? Shidharta would laugh at your arguments. Om namah Shivaya

  • Way too fast. Slow down. Respect the Lotus Sutra.

  • @stritly

    I second you.

  • I think you are all missing the point.....

  • all of iu guys are so domies

  • hello. i was searching for buddhist chanting and came across this video. i am familiar with tibetan buddhism but that is the extent of my buddhist knowledge. could someone be so kind as to help me Identify the language here? also which buddhist lineage is this from?

    much thanks!

  • Nichiren sect, Japanese chanting

  • wow.....

  • 6:55-7:10 sounds incredible. Btw is there any Christian chanting resembling something like this in any way or just a chant that sounds incredible thats Christian?

  • Nothing like this, I've ever heard, but you might wanna try Dies Irae or other early Christian songs. They're usually in Latin, and some in Greek.

I'm pretty sure there's a Dies Irae here on YouTube, I watched it before :)

  • most likely, but was probably lost over the years. From what I've heard, these chants were passed on the years by chanting. Remembered and recited every day until written language came around.

  • Now chanting that fast - that's just showing off!

  • This sounds like a parody

  • Ha! :D

  • It almost hums to you,,, kewl, how is it that fast? kewl
