@NaturesFairy I'm thrilled that you both watched it and liked this Hawk. I was thrilled myself following him for a couple of hours in a snow up to a waist sometimes, but it was worth it. The Hawk was watching me all this time, but seam accepted me for a time being...:) I liked, when he stepped on a top of a bird house and kicked it with his legs. He felt squirrels were there. Fantastic photography of a ~ yes ~ very contented bird. He seems almost vane,doesn't he (especially at the beginning of the film ;o)

And yes ~ the heart-shaped markings are very distinct ... very beautiful!

Hello my35xvision, Your video of the Red-tailed Hawk is excellent! The hawk is gorgeous and did beautiful movements for you. They can be very shy, so you must have made this hawk feel very comfortable. I had a similar encounter with a Barred Owl and caught a video and photos of it. It left me with a very spiritual feeling. Yes, it was absolutely wonderful feeling with the Hawk, who was watching me all the way, I was following him regardless of cold and a lot of snow on my way. Congratulations for your excellent video. You really are very lucky in this encounter with this magnificent bird, look clearly all the details! It's something magical about being so close to an animal like that. A few months ago on an osprey flew me and I know that is a very special feeling. A fraternal greeting.

I've never seen a bird of prey so close in its underwear. What a great close-up!

@mbhsug That was once in a lifetime experience. I followed this bird for more than an hour around the area. I liked when the bird got on a top of the bird house and started kicking it with the legs - that was funny. I also was excited to watch bird flying toward me - it almost touched my head. It was difficult to keep it in focus - but I managed it. So the video came out very good. Thank you for watching and commenting. :)

Once again; amazing, breathtaking, footage of a bird I've been trying for years to film! Everyday this week I've attempted a shot yet they are too high up or are off before I could focus! Hawks in a way are a lot like deer...very aware and elusive...flying deer that eat meat... You've got to be wearing some sort of invisibility cloak!!!... Do you know who lives in the birdhouse?

@seahue Thank you very much for nice comment. I've been very lucky this year to get close to many birds I did not able to do in the past. Actually, he was aware I was near him all the time but did not mind at all and no - I do not know who lives in this birdhouse, which is pretty huge. I do not know who they meant this house for to be occupied and if it is occupied at all. But the scene was hilarious, especially, when he started kicking this house with feet... :)

It must have been thrilling to have him fly right over your head. He coould easily have chosen to fly away from you and the fact that you were able not only to film but to keep him in focus...wow. I could even hear the wings! Again congratulations.

I feel it myself that this video is probably one of the best from all I've done so far and yes when he took off toward me (and he was very close) all I've tried was to keep him in focus - that was thrilling experience for 3 seconds and then the bird house - that was funny the way he tried to get the bird out.
