NASA didn't use this suit concept on the moon, I wonder why? PlayTex Corporation manufactured the actual "moon suits" (not the backpack, just the suits). This one is very similar.
@IRMacGuyver No, the space suits are rubber underneath. They are nicknamed "hardsuits" and the Apollo guys couldn't even bend over to pick up rocks. They had to use hand tools with claws and shovels to get at the dirt.
also... real suits have around 12 or so layers to pressurize the suit and to protect against harsh temperatures as well as micro asteroids which are like unpredictable bullets in space...
A real suit would weigh around 280 lbs on Earth...
is any of this technology used in deep sea exploration? The video very clearly demonstrates the flexibility. I found this while I was looking for astronaut costumes. the video is older but the quality is good. thank you very much
look its buzz lightyear!

I wonder if getting into it in microgravity was the big issue. Looks like it is amazingly flexable!

isn't this basically what's under all the insulation on the current space suit? It's just all that fabric that weighs it down.????

Great video! We're thinking about using the clip in a traveling exhibition about spacesuits.

So basically, if you want to do sit ups on the moon, you need a coloured gentleman to hold your feet for you?

The flexibility is there, but is it pressurized?

Grandwaterfrount, if you can cover an 8 figure check, I'll bet they'd sell it to you.
I'm guessing the "5 PSI" means 5 psi overpressure.
AirResarch builds some of the best centrifigal superchargers and turbochargers out there. No suprise they can make a pressurized hard suit.

Where could i get one?

I don't think nasa suits even come close to this one.

@morestuff75 Actually yes, deep sea suits are usually hardsuits but with claws for hands.
