I liked his live version of this song on American Idol much better.

Don't get me wrong,I love this studio version too,but Danny sang this song better live the first time on Idol. His voice sounded harder,cooler and more real then. The live version was more toned down,more back to basic and at the same the highs had that cool whiskey tone to his voice, you know like in

"Joe Cocker-up where we belong" ,that sort of tone.This studio version sounds studio!,it sounds more plain and edited&mixed.
