  • i have the same amp, where do you have your gain set to?? you are in the o/d channel 1 setting?

  • @Budafinga Hi ! Yes I was using the OD "classic" (gain knob around 10 / 11 o'clock). The ISF was on the British side.

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • NICE Makes me want to trade my Palomino V16

  • the vid says no fx..but at the very end there is definitely a slap back from some delay..?

  • @johncartelli Hi, yes, there're no fx between guitar and amp !

I've added a bit of reverb and delay on the lead track using VST plugins. (it's written on the video :)) )

    Thanks for watching !!

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • ciao volevo chiederti e il super 60 che fine ha fatto??...

  • Hi Marco, great track. any chance you could play it with the camera on you. would love to learn a few of those licks

  • hi did ur vintage 30 make a big difference from the original tone?

  • @brsurferbrasil Hi, to be honest..no, not too much. ;)

I was searching for a more smoother sound but at the end I've reinstalled the stock speaker...slightly better to my ears !

The V30 is a great speaker, but I was not happy using it in this amp.

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • I just can't get enough of this track.

    Sweet licks Marco.

    Bill

  • @Carroll49 Thanks !! ;-))

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Do you think this amp could get louder than a drum set in a blues and or rock setting?

  • @TheMercuryMusic YES ! :-)

I've used it live without mic'in it !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 Thanks! Amazing playing! Hopefully I when I get this or maybe the HT Stage one I can record better stuff like this! If you dont mind me askin, how long have you been playing?

  • I love your youtube channel Marco . Great ! - Jerry -- AKA -- HUTCHfromBA

  • Great Job with this song ! ! !

  • Oh ! Just so you know , I have a Epiphone Les Paul Standard with Gibson 490's , T & R pickups with a jimmy page wiring . Thanks , HUTCHfromBA -- AKA -- Jerry

  • I try to play Blues , I have a question . First of all , I have a Boss cs3 , bd2 , ce5 , tu3 and a mxr carbon copy at the moment . Then it goes to a small tube preamp (Grant Fidelity B-283) before the Amplifier . I do Not play professionally . I play for myself & friends and once in a while for small groups for free . In a big empty hall though . I am very interested in that new Blackstar HT-5R . From your knowlage , will the HT-5R be able to handle the pedals well ?

  • Nice stuff

  • @hutchfromba Thanks ! :-)

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Marco, I love the sound you're getting and I admire your playing. I'm interested in

getting a Blackstar and have looked at the 40 here and the 60 soloist. Do you think

you could get the same tone on this same song with the 60 soloist? Thanks.

  • How different the amp sound with the V30? Nice tone btw

  • the guy at my local guitar shop recommended me one of these

i just played the "rock" out of it to be honest, but it sounds great with some more of the classic blues tones, brilliant

  • A nice sound and playing

  • i hear some slowhand in the outro.

anyway you nailed some good tone.

for anything else, i would find the v30 to harsh with its mid spike but its beautiful in this setup

  • I suppose its not just a metal chugger but is voiced well for the the inbetween OD tones you'd hear on black crows, zztop albums etc. I bet it could get a great funk tone judging by what I heard. I had the TIny Terror but this Blackstar seems to have more useable tones.

  • lovely!

  • GREAT TONE. THE ONE I LOVE

  • @SuperB00gs Thanks ! :-))

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Wanna sell me the Seventy 80 you took out of the amp? I have an ISO cab I want to put a matching speaker in so my sound is the same. Shoot me a PM

  • @bigtiii Hi, sorry... I've already sold it !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 are the seventy 80s sound not good? they are in the uk made laney lc30, us made tech 21 trademark 60 and this korean made ht club 40!

  • I need this amp !

I'll swap the speaker for a V30 as you did

  • Do you have anything of the sound pre-mods as to compare the tone differences? Thanks!

  • @bresan79 Hi, my first two Blackstar videos were recorded using stock tubes & speaker !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Good sound and nice feeling ! gonna bye a Backstar amp too !!!

  • thanks very much for the info on recording, I really apreciate it. Im digging this amp and love the tones you are getting with your mods, and recordings. Im gonna get a copy of Reaper and try a few plugins and see what I can achieve. Thanks for the insperation.

  • @fodder687769 You're welcome ! Hope that help !

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Hey man, can you give me some info on how you hook this all up. I have the HT40 and have downloaded the plugins. Now how do I use them? what software do you use and how do you hook up the amp? is it direct into pc using line? sorry for all the questions.

  • @fodder687769 Hi no problems ! ;:-))

You shuld download a SW for recording your guitar and then you can apply the plugins. A GOOD (and cheap) software for home recording (both mac and Pc ) is Reaper. Check it out at reaper.fm !!

I like to use a mic in front of the amp and then I plug it mic to the sound card (Line6 UX1) but the blackstar has it's own cab emulated out so you can hook it in that way to your sound card.

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • I see you have a VOX and a Blackstar ! For the moment I have a AC30 CC1 and I did fall in love with the Blackstar HT Club ! Which one do you prefer ?

  • @arioz1 Hi thanks ! Sorry for the delay..

I like both for different reasons... Anyway the VOX has something special that the Blackstar hasn't... .For the music I play, the VOX is THE amp ! ;-))

    Ciao !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • How does the amp compare to the others in your collection like the hot rod deluxe please respond!!

  • @fairfaxsurfshoprider Hi, actually I prefer the HT-40.

The Blackstar is more versatile and the OD channel is very very good. I don't like the OD channel, on the HRD.

IMHO, cleans are more dynamic on the HRD. Anyway on the Blackstar you can get extremely good sounds that are really Fender-ish.

    Hope that helps !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Clean and sweet.

    Bill

  • Sounds good, but right after saying you weren't using any pedals or effects, you mention that you used VST plugins. I don't think it's totally fair to imply that it's only the amp we are hearing. ; )

  • @theshyguitarist Thanks ! :-))

The plugins I've used are only reverb and delay just to give a touch of depth to the guitars...I use these plugins because they are very transparent and they don't tend to "colour" my sounds... ;-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • sounds amazing! :) im saving up for this amp, seem like a great amp. Is there a EQ for the clean channel? Hows the sound in lower volume, bedroom use scenarios?

  • @Junqing Thanks ! :-))

Yes, there's an EQ on the clean channel..There's one tone control knob but it's very useful ! At low volume it sounds good..but you know...kranked is better ! :-))

Anyway in this video it's not that loud..

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 ahhh great! just got the amp today, absolutly love it! :D

  • @Junqing Glad you like it !! It's a great amp !! :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • great sound Marco

since two weeks I have the HT-20 Studio, and i'm very happy with him

  • @goingdown3121 Thanks a lot !! :-))

These Blackstar are really versatile amps !

    Ciao!
