  • His lower back is flat throughout so not that bad, the upper back is obiously very exagerated, not as big of a deal than lower back rounding. I get that the guy is pulling a piss, but the lift itself is not that bad for the back as it might look

  • I'm fairly certain that because of the way he intentionally arches his back before lifting, that he is doing rounded back deadlifts. These are done at a very low weight, and are used to strengthen the spinal erectors and upper back muscles that pull the back into extension.

  • rounding your upper back is fine, it is natural to have kyphotic flexibility. in fact, you need to do this to pull SUPER HEAVY weights. notice his lower back is not rounded at all

  • @bl00oom it's not "fine", the thoraic spine is strong, but not invincible. avoid it as much as you can. theres a difference between PR's and training. Training should ALWAYS be excellent (no rounding, not even thorax/upper back), but PR's sometimes gets uglier
