  • that poor turbo is cooking now.

  • Wow that bitch sounds bad dude.. I'd be in heaven if my truck sounded like that!

  • damn love the whinin noise of the turbo

  • Love yo truck bro. Can't wait for her to be up and going. =]

  • Does your truck spool when its cold? Did you gut the pedestal?

  • Yes my truck will spool up cold, I didnt gut the pedastall.

  • is the stright pipe louder then the stock muffler

  • a lot louder

  • sounds nice dude ive got a 1997 powerstroke with a 7.3 and it sounds exactly the same when i unhook the cat. fuckin awesome you should post more videos on this truck

  • i have the same thing 4 inch strate pipe and it sons the same

  • How high were your EGT's when you shut her down like that????

  • Right now I dont have gauges but if I had to guess maybe 400- 500 all I did was start it up and rev it a bit I didnt go over 2300 rpms. Currently Im putting on a new performance turbo, 140v IDM, Banks intercooler, & 3" plenums. Future upgrades are stage one injectors, Tony Wildman chip and methanol injection.

  • Is that truck even driveable. Maybe its just the camera angle, but damn your suspension looks tweaked.

  • The whole truck is perfectly straight and drivable. She sure does fly. The only thing that is messed up is the skid plate that covers the transfer case, I was parking it during a storm on the edge of road and it slid hitting rock denting it.

  • do you get the whistle from straight piping it?

  • Yes, But if you have a straight through muffler that isnt too big it will still whistle but not as much. Taking off the cat makes it whistle soo mcuh more alone.

  • is that 4inch turbo back?

  • Its the closest thing to a 4" from the turbo possible. These trucks exhaust was made for fitment the stock pipe was an ovaled 3" by 2.5" which was snaked all over leaving barely room for abigger one. It is 3" off the turbo and 3.5" when it passes the firewall and is 4" from the transmission back. In order to fit this downpipe in I had to bash in the the firewall. It sure is a tight fit.

  • that was so beautiful why couldnt it have been longer?

  • yo dude what pipe are you running. sounds almost like mine. im running magaflow but my cuz has mbrp im thinking of switching to those in duals they sound so bad ass???

  • Im running a ceramic coated down pipe from TymarPerformance dot com, they have the largest down pipe possible for these old trucks 3-4". The rest is a diamond eye 4" exhaust, now I have a mbrp muffler on it though, still sounds good! just different tone.

  • best wach out on using a straight pipe cuz thats a good way to tear up the turbo and also give u bad mpg but still a good sound. great vid

  • how do you manage damaging the turbo by straight pipe... by the way my gas mileage hasnt changed

  • You can't tear up the turbo with a stright pipe. The reduction in backpressure might raise the turbo rpms slightly, but certainly not enough to "tear it up"...

  • nice, i did the same to my truck, got a vid of the exhaust, yours sounds like mine a bit.

  • never rev a turbo engine before shutdown, the oil pressure drops as it is engine oil pump fed, the turbo is still spinning real fast, it fuks them.

  • Nice truck, I got a 96 7.3 too, damn good trucks. Gotta love the old body style.

  • i know man i have the same truck and love it too. very niiiice!!!
