Proud owner of a Honda RC51 SP2, it may be less powerfull than todays bikes and less agile, but face it, it has a true racing pedigree in her, i like the sound, the crude V-Twin power and the fact YOU tame the beast not some fancy electronics!
Brought a mint RC51 SP1 about a month ago and love it, just look at the forks and brake calipers, you can see its designed around race heritage, sounds awesome with race system....... v twin fun and jap build quality what more can i want....i'll be hanging onto this one for a while
I regret selling my 954 couple of years ago, and if i could find another in decent condition i'd probably buy it, but the SP1/SP2 is just an mazing piece of kit, you realise jusy how special it is every time you ride it,
Whether it becomes a classic like the RC30/45 remains to be seen but the values are increasig weekly I'm "never" selling my SP1 while i have a breathe in my body.

I had an SP-1 till recently! Got rear-ended at a red light light...God I miss her! Took me almost a year to find a set of Moris for her. Now saving up for an SP-2 with some Sato's! Can't wait...

@dryan26 - Ride one and you'll know why, if you saw them race, you would know why. I'm a Yamaha guy but the Honda RC51-SP2 is pure classic gold! It's a run away freight train, a bike made for a real man and not to be used to putt around town like a poser, for it's a true race bike. Everyone doesn't have one because they were rare and expensive. But all in all, different technology than inline 4's - V-twin bigger moving parts = less RPM's -> Less Power and top speed, why pay top dollar for Less?

vid reminds me of how proud i am to be an 2002 RC owner. I love this bike even after 25k miles. I've never considered selling this for anything else. if anything, i may get my RC another roommate in the garage. Every time i get done with a good hard ride i've got a smile from ear to ear.
