  • Just picked mine up today at Cabelas!!!!!!!!!! A year long wait and I can't wait to go shoot it.

  • Thanks man..was thinking about getting one for my wife...

  • Seems like a good short range firearm,it's never going to be an M-14 but that's to be expected, this gun is today's Tommy gun basically and those old Tommy guns did a lot of damage with those tumbling .45 rounds.

  • Nice gun, may have to invest in one

  • I just purchased this because of your awesome review of it. My first firearm and I couldn't be happier with it!

  • attributes? As in bump-firing?

  • I have the laser sight. For indoor home defense, I don't know what the prob would be. The laser dot is readily visible, & w/ a laser, you don't have to raise the gun & sight it in -- just put the dot on the target, from hip or any position.

As to the gun itself (no ref to laser now), I found the sight mechanism set-screws (allen wrench) of poor quality, easily stripped on the heads. Now my screws are stuck in on the top. I can't unscrew them becs the sockets for the allen wrench are stripped.

  • Great video. I was looking for some good info on this gun. It is on my "wish list" Thanks Paul !!!

  • ok so now here is the million dollar question, iam up for a new addition to my gun safe, and its a toss up between the KEL-TEC foldable carbine chambered in 40cal, or the hi-point in .45ACP like yours, both are in the same price range, and we allready have the dyes for reloading .45ACP i have shot the hi-point in 9mm and it was a little rough and the trigger was less than desireable, but main question would be have you had any issues with the 45 since you did this video, any input is appreciated

  • @1gamoguy

OK, I have a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm. If you put any sight on it you ruin the compactness. It is a sweet gun but the factory sights are hard to use especially with earmuffs. It is a great camping/backpacking protection rifle. Charles Manson would love it for doing bank jobs and other bad things. The High Point is a little rough and more of a piece of machinery. I still love it with the red dot scope and tactical light for night use.

  • I have had no problems with either rifle but they are both limited use rifles?? For crazy Charles Manson cool,,,, the Kel-Tec. For more fun to shoot and have others shoot the High Point with a cheap red dot sight. Also the High Point seems super quiet? pistol ammo in a rifle barrel ?

  • @PaulsWackyWorld i think we both know the answer then lol, i will have to get the hi-point in the 45ACP and then just buy the kel-tec in .40 cal later :o) orr since i allready have the 45ACP i might get the kel-tec in 9mm, either way a man can never have to many guns, thanks for the input

  • @PaulsWackyWorld Red Lion Precision sells a fore-end that spins so you can several accessories on it without compromising its folding action.

  • effective range?

  • @andrewgpayne3

    tree rats= 25 yards, coyote=50yards, man=100yards

  • Nice video! i was wondering have you ever had a hard time locking the bolt back with an empty mag in or when you release the mag the bolt slams shut??

  • @Rob919Gore Sounds like your thing-a-ma-bob on your magazine needs adjusted,,, maybe ?

  • @Rob919Gore I found out what it is The bolt on the charging handle got loose! lol

  • What ammunition were you shooting at the range? I assume FMJ. Will it feed hollow points or defensive rounds?

  • @rawnukowski 230 FMJ and 185 HP all jacketed. I never tried wad cutters or any wacky stuff

  • I like this guy's review. It's to the point, good tips, good video and he has a step by step approach and is fair in his review (versus biased and emotional). I'd like to have a guy like this in my neighborhood when the riots start.

  • Thanks for the review how does it do at 75 or 100 yards? I have a 357 lever action and 100 yards is about the limit for open sights.

  • I wish My dad was as cool as you. lol @ "social work"

  • @TheKeykoder Your Dad is as cool as me . He is just staying under the radar till the cool is really needed.

  • @PaulsWackyWorld lol! hilarious. Thanks again for this post. Because of this Video, I decided to buy this gun from a friend. It will be my Very first Gun purchase so im a bit nervous. But it looks like a great first gun to take to the range on the weekend. I'm ashamed to say im a native Texan and have a general fear of guns. So maybe this will help.

  • I have the 995 old plain style and have hit 300yrds with a witness. Love these guns!

  • hi paul have you ever shot the 40 cal highpoint rifle i just got my 45 carbine nice gun for the price

  • Nice little workshop you've got there. Thanks for the great review sir.

  • Pretty good @ 50 yds. I wanna put a Weaver 1-3x20 scope on mine, that should cover the cababilties of the round. BTW,good review.

  • @pveg65 Did you ever get a scope for your 4595? I am thinking you are right that a 1-3 should cover about the range of the gun.

  • @rodbaker I put a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot for now. Trying to save some money to get the Weaver.

  • * * * The more I see and hear, the more I like! Anyone in the group have one of these? Are higher cap mags available yet? Please send me a msg if you know of a Magazine source for the the .45 Carbine. Thanks! **

  • @Premiumdogg

I just bought one today and am planning on going to the range tomorrow when I bring it home. the guy at the gun shop told me they dont sell a larger magazine for it but it may be worth the try to look if an aftermarket company makes any.

  • @iepa90 Okay thanks for the info. Please send me a link or company name if you find a good OEM mag for the 9mm or the 45 carbine. Thanks!

  • idk about the bolt being on the left of the gun, when I got mine you had to screw it in yourself. You can put it on either side I believe.

  • Is that the stock red dot that came with the gun? If so, how is the performance of it....easy to sight?

  • It's a piece of crap but it works for it's intended purpose,,, dot on target ,pull trigger and no more target. Not ment to shoot rabbits at 200 yards.

  • Great and enjoyable review.

    -Cheers

  • very good review.

  • BB GUN

  • @MultiAngryRussian Gun snob. Have fun with an overpriced kriss that jams like mad :D

  • where can i get extra mags for this gun?

  • I am thinking of getting one. What ammo do you recomend for this gun? and just wondering whats the diffrence between .45ACP and .45S&W?

  • ive got the same gun and i love it. going to get a red dot holographic scope and a few more accessories for it this week..

  • muzzle velocity is 1279 fps

  • You must have your shit filter on.,,,,,,, LOL

Yes I know the volume came out on the low side

  • @PaulsWackyWorld i love your sense of humor toward negativity

  • to bad they weigh 7lbs....... =(

  • Thats what you get for the low price.

  • @PaulsWackyWorld

Seems to me Hi Point might just be onto a winner with this one! Lots of people say it looks awful, but I disagree. Besides, who cares? The thing is there to do a job, and from what we've seen, it does it very well. Best of luck with it.

  • @MSM4U2POM Personally, I love ugly. I loved the M16 way back when everybody called it an ugly duckling. Now they sell the damn AR's for over $1000.00. Go figure.

  • @ViralZombieHunter Dude I deer hunt with an 11 1/2 pound Mosin Nagant with no scope, I carry that thing for miles on end without a sling, I don't even have a scope on it. I do have plenty of other scoped guns, but nothing is as rewarding as taking down a huge buck with a huge gun. :)

  • @BoggleDongMongerFlog thats cool but this isnt a hunting rifle. its a home defense/plinking rifle. i do not want to carry around a 7+lb gun that only shoots a 9mm round when i could get a keltec sub2k that only weighs 4lbs. carry a heavy rifle if that's what floats your boat. id rather have an extra 4 lbs in ammo than in gun.

  • @ViralZombieHunter I'm just sayin, there are much worse weight guns out there.

  • @BoggleDongMongerFlog I guess 7 lbs lbs is a bit heavy for the little girls.

  • You people are idiots of pu think a gun company can stay in business with faulty guns. How about you buy one and put your money where your mouth is. I have 2 hipoint carbines 4095 a glock 17 and many more and to me they all are just as reliable

  • I LIKE THAT OSAMA TARGET BUT THAT IDK ABOUT THAT HIPOINT , I WOULDNT TRUST THAT THING WITH MY LIFE

  • @singlespeedyoda A few years ago I would have said that about HIPOINT but nowadays they have improved their manufacturing processes and the guns are as reliable as any more expensive models out. Dont let the low price fool you. Its a very reliable weapon.

  • AWESOME REVIEW, I LOVE THE GUN. DO THIS GUN COME WITH BLACK STRAP?? OR DID YOU GET IT SOMEWHERE ELSE?

  • I thought he was going to talk for a long time. But no " Im sure you dont want to hear me talk lets go to the range" Yes yes very truth.

  • Nice review! I just picked one of these up over the weekend, can't wait to try it out.

  • by likeable activities, do you mean bump firing?

  • I wish they would make this in a 44 magnum platform. I'd be all over in if that were the case.

  • personally i dont think any gun is junk. theyre all deadly. if some one thinks a gun is junk, go get someone to shoot you with it. if you survive you might change your mind. thats my opinion

  • The begining is a false statement. Hi-Point firearms have a very good supply of the carbine rifle in all 3 rounds.

  • Maybe this week, maybe where you live ? ,,,,,,, so excuse me !

  • @PaulsWackyWorld your exceused

  • @XxAnythingRandomXx how would u order one

  • @XxAnythingRandomXx It is false at this time, but when it was first released there was a very limited number released. Since them, the supply has increased due to the demand.

  • @XxAnythingRandomXx It is false at this time, but when it was first released there was a very limited number released. Since them, the supply has increased due to the demand.

  • People dog Hi Points. I had a Hi Point C9. I put 250 rounds through it and then kept it near my bed. It was all I could afford at the time. These guns are not made to go to Iraq but keep them clean/oiled and you will have a reliable shooter when someone decides they want to encroach on your territory. Just with they would make them Glock or Beretta mag compatible.

  • only reason i dont have one is the dealers in my area are having trouble getting them everyone is waiting on them

  • I really wish someone would make a quality metal and wood .45 acp carbine of some kind the thompson weighs and cost a ton and the high point is plastic... marlins camp .45 was a good idea if they would loose the potmetal and plastic ..a .45 acp version of Rugers 44 auto carbine would be cool or the IMI timberwolf and i really dont know why a lever action 92 style cant be produced we need a long gun mate to our 1911s damnit

  • Good review! I think since they made it a single stack , they should of designed it to use1911 magazines. Lots of choices for mags out there including drums.

  • the only reason I wont buy one is limited round capacity ... that and thompsons and macs just look so much more intimidating

  • Why oh why do they not make their guns able to use existing hi cap magazines? Like the design and love the price but 9 rounds in a long gun when you could have a 20 shot mag is silly to me.Some states only allow 10 and 9 would be fine,in .45 acp im sure it would easily put home intruders down but 20 shots would be twice as good for social unrest and the like.Good review.

  • It will happen soon.

  • @PaulsWackyWorld great review paul ive been thinking about getting one for sometime just couldnt decide which one so i think the pondering time is over thanks

  • @PaulsWackyWorld yeah a 20-30 round capacity clip would be a huge plus,, but im thinking of buying one in 45 acp to go with my 1911, runing same ammo would be nice. i usually carry a ar-15 and my my"

  • @friedfish1982 it isnt a damn clip. it is a magazine.

  • @tactical2bagpipes go stick it in in your ass, its force of habit and nobody cares except you, I have more invested in my weapons then you make in a year.

  • @friedfish1982 I will bet you money that I own more firearms than you have ever handled. I spent over ten years in the army on multiple combat deployments, and own and operate a combatives school. If you are so damn sloppy that you "force of habit" is to use incorrect terminology because you don't know any better then telling someone to "stick it in their ass" is also probably indicitive of your ignorance. Amateur.

  • @ITSMETHEFLASH I think it's because these guns were developed during Clinton and the "assault weapons van". I wish they could use Glock mags. 1911 mags would be cool as well. (carry a 1911 and a carbin using same ammo and mags).

  • too me its junk i am more of a glock fan and smith and wesson rifles

  • I don't know of a comparable Glock ? I know Glock makes junk but I am not aware of them in this market

  • @lionidascs5 spoken like a true NOOB

  • Is there any way you would do a video showing how to disassemble this carbine.

  • Is there any way you would do a video showing how to disassemble this carbine.

  • im definitely getting one.the hipoint compact 9mm ilove, but which one is better the .45 or 9mm carbine,or the .40 carbine?

  • @jbsoriginality dude go with glock i know people are out their tthat hate glock but compare the 2 then pick

  • @lionidascs5 they both shoot so why not just spend $200 instead of twice or three times that.i buy american anyways

  • @jbsoriginality i agree they both shoot and i agree 200 is cheap but i wouldnt want a fukn plastic gun thats saving my life especially when its like 3 pounds unloaded

  • @lionidascs5 well on my 9 the grip is the only thing that is polymer, and it seems to be pretty durable even after thousands of rounds at the range.

  • thats gonna be on next years christmas list 4 sure lol.

  • I've got one and I love it.

  • good review. try going back to the iron sights.

  • And on a budget, so the 995TS will be it for me. But it all started with a 4 and a 5!

  • The Kel Tec looks neat. And the SU16 too. Check out the carbines by Thureon Defense. I've been admiring them and the gems by Masterpiece Arms. So much to look at (but I am in CA, so bullet buttons and 10 rounds max is mandatory). I think I like carbines. Lol.

  • Wow. hP's and handloads. It's not a fussy eater. That is good news, and consistent with the 995TS version.

  • Had a hard time 9mm or 45?,,,, 9 mm or 45 ? but I have a KelTec Sub 2000 in 9mm so I went with the 45 on this one.

  • I have heard that the 9mm gets a larger advantage from a longer barrel.

The 45 ACP has the extra weight for "knock down power" and is extra controllable/easy handling in the carbine design. So all styles have their share of advantages.

It was easy to see that in your video. So smooth and quiet. Very stealthy. I am a huge fan of these carbines. Have fun shooting. And please follow up after 1,000 rounds to report on reliability/functioning.

  • Nice video. What brands of ammunition did you use for the groupings? Or, what brands work well for you? Thanks!

  • I shot some HP magtechs , Walmart Winchesters RN, but mostly 230 RN handloads and 185 HP handloads

  • I'm interested in what the chronograph would show. Pls post if u get that data.

  • With Bullseye powder (Fast burn for short barrels) 230gr RN out of a 1911= 840, carbine=915 and 185HP out of the 1911=960, carbine= 1085. This is not a very big increase . I think the spread would be greater with a slower powder.

  • Excellent video. I just picked up this same carbine. I'm very impressed with accuracy reliability. I have several hundred rounds through it without a hitch. I'm using a Tru-Glo red dot, Hornady 230gr HAP bullet over 4.9grof Titegroup. One thing I noticed when I first shot the carbine...it was packed full of grease and was very smokey. A good scrubbing took care of this very slight problem. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

  • Also I have removed the bottom of the front sight. 2 allen screws and it taps off the barrel.

  • Love hearing the sound of brass landing on concrete.

  • The rifle seems extra extra quiet ??? could be an illusion. I need someone else to shoot it while I stand back and listen. Most rifles slam the audio on the camera and you can't hear the brass.

  • @PaulsWackyWorld Have you confirmed this quietness? From the video, sounded like a 22lr. Is it much more than that or ...?

  • @JonALewis It's not like silencer or that quiet but it is surprisingly quiet. I think it's the handgun powder all burned up before the bullet get to the end of the barrel

  • @PaulsWackyWorld I'd be interested to see a vid on how the sound compares to a 22lr. Is it about the same or still a lot louder than that?

  • Yeah...that looks like a lot of fun! Heck man that will work with Coyotes too at maybe closer ranges with ease! I bet you could even hit squirrels with that bad boy!

So...those .45 carbines are hard to come by?

  • Very interesting presentation.
