I think this is a great video response to the Dr Phil-mania that hit our fair town with the force of an F-5 tornado back in 2004, and I think it captures the essence of what is wrong with America. We all preach to our kids that if "something seems too good to be true ... it probably is", yet we failed to listen to our own mantra! Our era is so stricken with STAR and CELEBRITY worship that we often lose sight of what is "real" - even in Elgin. I think this was a lesson learned for everyone!
I just graduated from elgin high school in 2007 and still live here. Dr phil just abruptly ended his segment on elgin because someone he was "helping" tried to kill themselves. He didnt help a single person here in elgin and just used our simple town as a place that he could call trash and pretend that HE fixes everything and makes more millions cause people are ignorant enough to belive that crap. There isnt one person in elgin that dr phil ever helped. This town is amazing..Don't forget it!

Well other than misspelling principal, this is a fine production and gives a much better overview of life in Elgin than any tabloid television show will ever do. I have a daughter in Elgin High School and her rendition of life at school is that portrayed by the teachers. It's not perfect but it's a good atmosphere and a good school.
