On 5th leg of Vertigo tour his voice was very strong, many people say that best since Zoo TV Tour. And he has proved it, have you ever heard him holding some note for 8 seconds like he did on 5th leg of Vertigo tour in Beautiful Day?, also his falsetto was very good, check out vertigo with snippet Highway To Hell, or Mysterious Ways..
Was just a wee little boy while i was at this show! On our way to the show we were turning into the main road leading to Football Park (now AAMI Stadium) and we got cut off by the band. They were being escourted by Police to the show! Anyway, I never thought i would be seeing videos of this concert so cheers Oskikalicante!!!
"Dirty Day" is the standout track from the Sydney DVD and is itself the needle in the Zooropa record.
Vertigo/Elevation reconnected U2 with its audience, while not doing away with all effects. I'm happy with this more organic approach. But for its time, ZOO-TV was the perfect medium. It was in fact visionary!
U2 has always had bad nights. The Vertigo DVD was shot on an exceptionally bad night. It was around the time they stank on the grammy's and even almost canceled the tour. The problem? I think bono through out the back and voice.
Certainly in terms of crowd , And all , And there are different epic shows on Vertigo Tour , but still , The Band was on fire on Chicago . In Fact I don't recall any bad night on Vertigo , I remember the non perfect , but Bad ??? No way
The days run away like horses over the Hill. this is a sentence from Bukowski.

Yes he stopped for a while after Sarajevo show, but then he began to smoke again, he just smokes less than in 90's and only in private.
frankdefoot 4 years ago
ahh i see. well thats pretty dumb, considering his voice IS turning bad. Hopefully it'll be better next tour!
