  • Amazin Rock Roll 80' & 90' - Iam fan since 80 - Brazil.

  • Comment removed

  • thats how to open a concert, the best cult line up ever, astbury, duffy, stewart, n warner = legends!!

  • saw then live in Seattle way back best concert ever those guys could fucking rock it......though they've had their differences Astbury and Duffy are the best combination ever........on the rare compilation the intro to electric ocean by Duffy is imo by far the best intro ever.....

  • This is fucking rock'n'roll.

  • I was there at this gig. we were just in front of duffy, but got split up from my mates as you can imagine from the vid! I was 19 and it was my second time That i had seen the Cult, the first time was at NEC supporting Big Country in 1984. This vid brought the whole day flooding back. priceless, Thanx.

  • Pixes and The Cult , biggest innovators of 80s, early 90s.

  • @mantarayification the Cult, innovators? well i guess if you consider regurgitating every tired old rock cliche to be innovation...Pixies on the other hand dont deserve to me mentioned on the same planet as these guys, they were truly original and had a huge and lasting impact...sort it out mate

  • What a mutha freaking party...wish i could heve been there...Love the Cult

  • Every Day Nirvama!!!.... And Pearl Jam, And Soundgarden, And Alice In Chains =P Amazing Song! WE LOVE THE CULT!!!

  • PROPER ENGLISH MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used to live opposite the Brixton Academy. Brilliant venue.

  • Duffy and his Gretsch... like Thor and his hammer. Unbeatable. I love Ian's kicking while he sings on stage, great moves. 'Love' album arguably among the top 10 hard rock of all time.

  • Kind of funny how The Cult introduced Nirvana> Beautiful huh?

  • fuck me , its a wonder kid chaos didnt get blown off stage by his own amps!!

wonderful performance from the lads though and still as good on tour today

  • Hey! I've been listening to The Cult for the last 13 years (and now I'm almost 25) :) I really love this live performance of them, but can anybody tell me how that hat is called? I mean, I would like to know it because I find it so cool XD I can't see any hat like that around here for I'm not a native american guy (I'm from Peru). If someone told me the name of that hat, it would be so nice :) See you and LONG LIVE THE CULT! :D

    Alberto.

  • i want his hat

  • @AphrodisiacJacket I think the hat is a germann ss-hat, worn by troops in russia. I love the cult, but i'm afraid you have to check ww2 memorabilia...try to avoid a nazi image...

  • @tigerini Before you post......THINK!!

  • @cookamidgera Think-think-think: Can't help the hat looks like that! But I don't mind, still love the Cult! All great artists now and then wear stuff on the egde of good taste..

  • @tigerini I like the fur hat. It's the tussels on Ian and Jamie's leather jackets that I don't like.

  • Genialne...

Fantastyczne miejsce, miałem przyjemność zobaczyć tam NIN w 2005, chciałbym więcej...

  • Kid Kaos was out of Zodiac Mindwarp

  • Everyday uh nirvana

    fuk yes

    sik ass solo

anyone who doesnt know the Cult does not know music

  • It is Billy Duffy (with big hair).. I was at this gig :)

  • Saw them on the same tour a couple of weeks earlier in march "87 at the dome in Brighton. I remember being blown away and feeling high for weeks after. They are still the best rock band and I'm still in awe. Long live The Cult.

  • Britain's version of Jim Morrison , no wonder the Door's asked Ian to front for them in the mid-90s when they reunited.

  • I just gotta say; Billy's hair looks just amazing! So big, so blonde, wow.

  • Kid Chaos is on bass

  • Jamie Stewart played rhythm guitar on the electric tour. They brought on someone else to play bass. I think his name was kid kaos or something like that.

  • Is Jamie Stewart on 2nd Guitar?

  • Brilliant band with a great sound, this vid just makes me laugh in a Spinal Tap kind of way, or thinking of Reeves and Mortimer's "Wensleydale Cheese", band.

  • impressive... ian voice begun to have défaillances

jamie steward from bass to guitar I didn't know that

  • Yes it is ... This is Billy Duffy on the guitar and Ian Astbury singer... They are so sweet...HUMMMMMMMMMM!

  • I highly recommend the re-master box set of Love, it's fantastic.

Comes with the a repro gatefold sleeve as well as a disc of singles, all b sides etc, a 3rd disc of unissued Demo's, and then the BBC Live in concert Disc from 1985.

Search Amazon for: Love (Omnibus Edition)

  • yo tuve la suerte de conocer a Ian tengo una linda foto con el es una pena como esta hoy en dia, que buenos tiempos estos

  • Think I went to this gig.

Met Les playing in my local pub after he was sacked by the band!

  • love LOVE album...it is their best stuff.....just masterpiece....

  • I don't give a shit what rolling stone mag says, I think this album is in the top 20.

  • how do you hate Electric?

    ?

    I just dont get it.

It's kick ass raw kick ass rock n roll pure Cult

  • @hatethatsmirk making a comparison between the two albums,,didnt like the transition from love to the new metal usa style rock,,never played electric,,so i put it in a skip last year,

  • @fabios66 I don't think it was a U.S.A. style. It sounded more like AC/DC. Love is still my favorite album. Bought it brand new on cassette when it first came out. Saw them in concert when they came out with Fire woman in 89 or 90 can't remember exact year. They still played Love songs.

  • The Cult Heavy Metal? Is ridiculous... they never had forgotten the heavy death cult.

  • i was there too, think Zodiac Mindward were one first,,best concert ever seen,,but hated Electric album,,

  • Oh, my Aphrodites! This song kills!

  • Saw this tour in '87 when they opened for Billy Idol. Met evryone except Ian in Denny's the next morning during breakfast. Very cool guys.

  • Why don't bands KICK it like this anymore!?!

  • because today's audiences are retarded

  • Well said

  • Billy Duffy is the dogs mother fuckin bollocks!!! \m/

  • Great song, great performance. The Cult is the best.

  • who's the guitarist who's not Billy Duffy?

  • Jamie Stewart

  • @jim90290 the guitarist is Billy Duffy, the bassist is Jamie Stewart, drummer Les Green, vocals Ian Astbury!

  • Jamie is usually thge bassist. This twin guitar attack however makes you wonder why they didn't keep this setup.

  • @Dagate123 Jamie Stewart, is the Bass player

  • @Dagate123 oh no sorry, jamie Stewart in this track played the guitar

  • @Dagate123 I think is Duffy, I recognized the hairs

  • I fuckin love that Gretsch White Falcon sound!:) unfortunately i could only afford the Ibanez artcore copy... still sounds great though:)

  • Ian's voice here is so much more powerful than the LP track.

shit the whole song for that matter

  • ian reminds me a bit of michael hutchence his stage persona is similar

  • saw the Love tour in nyc this past weekend and it was INCREDIBLE!

  • The Cult rules the earth. That`s the Electric Ian singing the Love Ian - brilliant! Every day nirvana!

  • My dad got me a ticket for the love tour. Edinburgh on the 7th of October, gonna be awesome!

  • This is a real male...Ho! my God thank you for this creation...Nobody can be like him...He is so cute with his hat...Besides I'm sure he didn't know that he was so beautiful...and it's the raison why he is so good!!! He didn't know he was so exiting...

  • I got my tickets for the Love Tour in Austin. It's going to be sweet!

  • Billy really gives that Gretsch guitar a spanking!

  • God, I've still got this concert on video somewhere!

  • yeah, and have you heard of Plant and Page? seems as though things changed a few times since then, VH was pretty cool though, and commercially bigger, but arguably not as important as the Cult

  • Looking forward to their "Love Tour" :-)

  • as per sakeys comment...The Cult have always been ahead of the curve, the grew their hair out in late 85/86, before the Hair bands got started, they never conformed to anything, they had a big influence on the look of alot of those bands, although the subsequent bands were much cheesier, with maybe the exception of AXL.where do you think he got the BANDANA from?? IAN..and where do you think all the Seattle bands got their inspiration...Look no further!!

  • Speaking of "hair bands"...ever heard of van halen? "Jump", 1983.. years after their debut

  • @thepackage11 Agree with everything except the bandana issue.I put it to you that axl and ian got the idea, from steven tyler of aerosmith. Sorry for nit picking but couldn't help myself.

  • @thepackage11 Not trying to bash them -- but don't you think by Electris and Sonic Temple, they started sounding more like other hard rock/metal bands out there?

I've heard some people blame Rick Rubin for ruining them. I wouldn't got that far ...but I still say Love sounds totally unique -- unlike anything they, or pretty much anyone else, did.

  • @thepackage11 Joe Dallessandro

  • @thepackage11 still sexy, though

  • @thepackage11 Dude your a total Jackass know it all. And really you dont know SH!T !! You need to research your music history . You have alot to learn. Long Live Rock and Roll.................

  • @RSG404

    your or you're?

    Two different meanings chum.

I know you'll have a 'pop' at me (south east London slang, sorry) but you rally need to be aware that what you are writing needs to be interperated by others & not just your brain. Still I audgest a course at the school of LUX INTERIOR.

  • great song great band :D

  • fuckin awesome!!! duffy and astbury together!!! rock on dudes...

  • omg lol that soooooo fuckin 80's lol

  • PROPER CULT LINE UP JAMIE STEWART.

  • ME LIKEY

  • Great song!!!

  • this song rocks.. but i can't watch this - i can't get past Billy's hair. So ghey ahahahaha... they eff'ed up when they 'conformed' to what everyone else was doing and got off track from what they we're all about.

  • I will NEVER get tired of this song or this band!!!!

  • A lot of bands start playing agressively and go soft (hi Axl). This is the only band I can think of that started more melodic and went hard aggressive and pulled it off. True kings

  • im 24 and i really like the sound of these guys, only listened to them because of my dad always said there gigs were always rockin, guys got a cool voice, catchy riffs, would not look out of place in todays rock charts, top tune!

  • the one and only cult......wolfchild!!!!!!!!!!

  • firstly i loved the cult and saw them many times.was at the sighing of the the electric album, which was being played at the time, and remember thinking ( i hope this is not the new album) i didnt like the change to rock and instantly new i'd go off them, i got the album and played it to my horror,

  • One of the best guitar duos ever; that double axe jam is one for the ages.

  • im fuckin here so fuck off

  • the cult rulz!

  • "AWESOME" thank U. :0)

  • que gran epoca !!

  • alto video loco y alto tema

  • jammy on rythme guitar not on bass, rare merci bcp pour se post tyrm for this

  • great tune, great performance...the song translated very good from the "Love" era into the "Electric" mindset the band was in at the time...powerful!

  • yea i love how they kinda "metalized" some of their tunes from the Love album.

  • CFFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seen these guy 3 times in ATL , GA . They do the real do ..... ask her !

  • It's just style and flash. Billy used to collect SS clothing-- it's Hell's Angels stuff...

Classic line-up, thanks! Just saw them last night and my ears are still ringing-- loudest show I ever saw. And they rocked.

  • why he is always wearing a 'totenkopf'on his hats??(ss logo)

  • Thank you for posting this, yer Gold.

  • great song , pity Ian's vocals were pretty worn by then.

  • Ian's vocals are not worn, he just screws the songs, as usual. This Nazi thing about the band is pretty disgusting, too. It's just show off!

  • He was probably rip roaring drunk! I love him anyway! His voice is still spectacular now in 2008!

  • have to disagree his voice is a former shell of the past,he just yaps thought the song, no tone just yapping, what a shame because they are my fav group, but quit in your prime!!!!
