I broke my 5th metatarsal n fracture my 4th n broke my little toe i didnt go to the hospital but carried on walkin on it all i have have is a bone sticking out my little toe which noone can see and slight pain if someone stands on it
Yikes, bad luck! Yes, I went right back to standing practice once I could bear weight. As soon as I came off crutches I did standing practice but avoided anything where I was on the ball of the foot or pushing off the ball of the foot, DR's orders. Up to the 8 week point I avoided flow classes and just did static standing poses. While on crutches I did yoga every day (no standing!) I went to a rolfer right after getting the ok...I had lots of tightness after not walking for so long. Good luck!
this is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much for posting. I broke my 5th metatarsal camping, just around the time I started to have a regular daily yoga practice. I soo need this!
Thank you so much for your responce! I have been reading online and came to the same conclusion. I went to a sport DR too, so think I will call him on Mon to ask sooner about surgery. I was on my way to Anna Forrest when this happened big bummer! So you were back to standing practice about 8 weeks after? All your partner videos are amazing! Thank you again!
this is a very inspiring video, thank you so much! I am not sure if you check here anymore, but I have a few questions. I was doing hot or power flow classes daily for over 2 years and got a Jones Fracture exactly 1 week ago. How long did it take to recover and return to full practice? How did you decide on surgery? I go back to the Dr next week and plan to ask about surgery. I am anxious for recovery!! Thank you for the video!
Sorry to hear about your fracture! When I had mine, I went to a sports doctor. He recommended surgery because he said for an active person, there would be a good chance of re-breaking in the future without it. Also with the surgery I would be able to swim and move my foot during the recovery, even when I couldn't bear weight. I was non-weightbearing for 6 weeks, then in a boot for another 2. When on crutches I swam regularly and stretched the foot. Good luck with your recovery!
I Have done the same with 4 screw, I have put nearly a stone on in weight, I used to practice yoga and miss it so much..................my mat is back out thanks to this video
i am on the same probllem now... im going to be in a cast and on crutches for at least 3 months.... and doctor says it still might not heal by then and ill need a 3 inch screw... fuck you jones fracture
I am sitting here for 1 week with a walking cast on my right foot. Broke my 5th metatarsal last Friday.I am going out of my mind can't drive but worse not exercising!! I am going to carefully try now. You are an inspiration!!!!
I feel so lucky to have found this video as I have broken my lisfranc bone and it is week one after the operation... It is tough not being able to do yoga.....or so i thought.......yipee. gotta go ................
I'm sitting here in a splint on my right foot right now (my right 5th metatarsal). Ugh... If I had to break my foot I wish it was my right. It's going to suck not being able to drive.
I was at camp and we played this game at like 12:00 with tables and stuff in the middle of a field and gaint spotlights and you run from ppl try to get to the top of a hill and i didnt see this table and jumped over it at the last second and landed on a kid...breaking my foot and breaaking his ribs...now 2 years later i cant even play sports its terrible
It would have been nice to know about this when I broke my foot a few years ago! I was really depressed by the forced inactivity. Anyway, hope you are all healed.
Clayton is the guy in the background. I was standing on his hands trying an acrobatic-inspired pose when I lost my balance and fell, landing on the outside of my foot and causing the break.
i notice how your foot flexes and bends a little ..
i cant do that .. im suprised you can ..
when i do that i feel pain and im always afraid that the pressure being put in the bone by the tendons will injure it ..
my toes have become weak too for some reason ..
the upward flex is strong as usual .. but downward flex has become weak .. i think its because for the last 18 days i havent flexed them AT ALL downward cuz it hurt the most ..
Gosh dammit Bro, I'm sorry to hear that. I have a broken 5th right now on week 2, its sux and pretty depressing. I have no insurance either I went to E.R. and doctor gave me a splint and told me to see fa,mily doc in 2 days for cast but I couldnt go cuz no insurance.I just bought an aircast instead I hope my foot will be okay. Worse pain I ever felt when I broke it. Damn that hurt and its swollen and bruised like crazy.Let me know how you come out. Peace Bro!
LordSpanky-sorry to hear that, that sucks you should just have them do an x ray it would be some money but you dont want the problem to complicate later down the road. take it from me my buddy has to have his bone broken in 3 spots to fix it. best of luck to you, i hope all goes well
you think this is bad? i broke my 1st,2nd,3rd and 4rth metatarsel! so bloodly painful

Yoga is beautiful. With the music, this almost looks like a performance I could watch in a theater. Like a dance... It's graceful and lovely..
I hope you have recovered and everything =)

btw .. i dropped a 110 lb block of ceramic tiles on my foot while working for a contractor .. it didnt fall flat on my foot .. it hit edge first ..
i knew i fucked my foot up good .. but i didnt realize how bad it was until that night ..
i got up to pee .. and tried getting out of bed and collaped on the ground ..
i had to hop the the bathroom ..and my foot was hurting so bad i was shaking all over ..
when i turned on the light my foot was all bruised and swollen ..
