Yes US gave some planes, some jeeps on the end of WWII . What US did is bring all the SS soldiers here to US and kept them here ! How many thousands were send to fight without weapons? how many thousands died in stalingrad when stalin refused to evacuate city? how many were executed by NKVD? thats why there are 27 million russian dead.

USA help at the beginning of the war USSR on delivery of American materiel, but they also know if soviet union is defeated they will be defeated later on. City was the most difficult part on combat ( leningrad and Stalingrad ), in those war, civilian are also soldiers. Die in combat or die in captivity...
