I agree with you on that. But, Blanche and Sophia are my faves. Rose is "so so"; she's okay (sort of), but those St. Olaf stories drive me crazy, even though they are funny. But the stories are just ridiculous, because of the hard to pronounce names and the "freakiness" of the people that Rose knew in that town. The stories that Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia tell really make a point, while Rose's stories make almost NO sense.
