I truly am sorry to hear about loss of limbs or even a death from trying to have fun. AND does ANYONE read the owners manual and the safety handbook that comes with a new unit? Every time I have tipped my Rhino over it has been due to my own error. I play around like the guy in this video and will probably do the same thing. Like I said earlier -I do not like to see or hear about injuries/death,but do we redesign everything because inexperienced people do not follow safety guidelines?
You are lucky you were not injured in the rollover. My 18 year old daughter died in 2006 when the Rhino she drove rolled and crushed her. There are a lot of other Rhino accidents where people are killed or severely injured. I hope everyone else who drives a Rhino understands the risks and the meaning of the word "accident" because no matter how safely they may drive, an accident may happen when they least expect it.
Yes, she was wearing a seatbelt but not a helmet. One problem is the Rhino is not equipped with doors so passengers or their arms/legs may be partially ejected during a rollover. The placement of the rollbar makes it very easy for someone to be injured when the vehicle rolls. Please do a Google search for "Rhino" "Accidents" to read about all the injuries. To say that it is "hard if you know how to drive one" is to not recognize accidents may happen even to the best of drivers.
Dude, I'm really sorry for your loss, but you don't need to spam every video about Rhino's. It's a dangerous sport. People know that before going into it. If you don't know how to operate a vehicle safely, you shouldn't get behind the controls. It's common sense. And the new ones come with doors.
I am glad you acknowledged it is a dangerous sport but, unfortunately, not everybody knows that. Otherwise, parents would not allow 10 year old or minor aged children to drive them. Too, not every Rhino is equipped with doors. I spoke to a Wisconsin Sheriff's Department that received a free Rhino who was not aware of the rollover damages until I wrote to him. I do not think all people who view these Rhino crash videas are aware of the dangers and if I can help avoid one person avoid injury ...
Well I agree with you 100%, but if I were in your position, I would fight with Yamaha to put helmet warning labels on the production Rhino's, as well as make 5 point harnesses mandatory. I always wear my helmet driving mine, but the seat belts are a joke. Both of those issues lie with Yamaha, and the dealers should instruct the buyers on proper safety, just like they do when I bought my dirt bike.
Accidents may happen. My 18 year old daughter died a year ago while driving a Rhino. She was wearing seat belts but not a helmet. One problem is the lack of doors so when rolling, a rider may be partially ejected even if wearing a seatbelt. The placement of the rollbar in those cases may result in an injury to the head or spine, as in my daughter's case. If you Google Rhino accidents, you will read about many people who have died or been seriously injured in a rollover due to the absence of door
