Ok. So. Amazing knife. But your not gonna find a perfect wax wood Bo staff in the woods that just happens to be fitted to your blade. It need groves for string to attach to the spear handle if the need be.

did the blade stay straight after the 2nd bending test?

@pointer802 I don't recall, we shot this quite a afew years ago - but the primary point of this test is to prove that the blade will flex and not snap. (the British Proof Test as seen with some of our swords requires the blade to return truw, but this test is all about the flex). As long as can take the abuse and it doesn't break - that is the important part when looking at a survival knife.

I think it's easier to gut fish and animals with the normal point knife.

I don't puncture the guts as much because the angle is better.

With the bowie point the spine of the knife can't go low enough.

@frontbackflip high carbon steel is always going to be more prone to rust but the blade has that black coating to help prevent it

@favi0es : depends on what you use the knife for. The bushman is a better all around knife. The true flight is a better thrower but the versatility of the bushman makes it better all around. DO NOT buy the cheap version of the bushman. After a day or two of throwing the tip of the blade just broke off.

My bushman broke when I threw it at a tree... It ricocheted right off the tree, and onto the tree right next to it, leaving me with a handle and a blade separately. I think the blade/handle transition must be a weakness. But i got a new one now, plus a CS sure flight thrower for throwing, so i don't break my new bushman too...

Well, I've actually seen blades snap like this. In all actuality, he is pretty safe when doing that. Usually it will snap more towards the base, and the vice will have clamped the blade, while the other half breaks off at the handle. I've never seen anyone get hurt when a blade broke when doing this form of torture test.

Well, it is possible but they are wearing gloves, I'd be wearing chainmail for this test.

Also, that has already happened to me with a Cold steel kukri, my hnd is nice and nerve damaged, so believe me, it is a possibility, but either way a torture test should be performed in a controlled environment.

i used one of these yesterday, very cool blade, idk how he threw it, it must be the smaller non-bowie blade bushman because the larger one is not balanced well for throwing. for about $30 + S&H it seems well worth it.
