  • The Atari 2600 version looked and sounded better than the Intellivision version IMO.

  • wait tht says 1986 4 the last one. other than that , great vid!

  • omfg i can't believe that was the first donkey kong

  • isn't there any more donkey kong video games after that???

  • Great vid yet you forgot the one for Gameboy

  • Excellent video! :D

  • The audio of Atario 7800 version sounds like garbage.

  • Atari 2600: Eat those cookies, Mario!

  • Why is donkey kong green and looks like a big smilyface with legs? On the intelevision mario isn't even mario! He looks like he is the pitfall guy with a blue shirt on!

  • NES and arcade versions are the best ones.

  • The sound effects of the Atari 2600 version have been used waaaay too much in movies/TV series when someone is playing a videogame.

  • No C64 version?

  • intellivision WOULD be a better version if they had JUST tinkered with the colors life pauline skin and hair marios outfit color donkey kongs face and the barrels brown and the fireballs ORANGE

  • lol. the beginning of the video donkey kong says: "how high can you get?" HA! bannana are his drugs i guess!

  • It's sad that Coleco made the Intellivision-Version awful so that their Colecovision system's version could be seen as amazing compared to it and atari. They made the Intv-version bad on purpose.

The Intv was so much more capable in doing way more than what that version shows.

  • the Atari 2600's Dk's sound effects are now counted as generic video game sound effects in movies and t.v. shows.

  • This is a great concept for a video and nicely edited. I subbed!

  • the atari version is fun...but the sound effects make me want to drown kittens

  • Well, I used to think the 2600 version was the worst... until I played the Intellivision version. The 2600 version may look and sound like crap on a stick, but at least the game control "feels" responsive like the arcade game. The Intellivision version feels like you're underwater, and sounds at least as annoying.

  • when i watch the atari 2600 version i feel like eating honey combs! another great video keep up the good work!

  • The Atari 8-bit had some interesting little tricks to it that I don't think the arcade had. Some weird ways to score, like jumping NEAR barrels. I loved doing that. Too bad it couldn't be included :)

  • Yeah, if I strayed out of early consoles and tried to do every iteration of Donkey Kong available, even at 30 sec a clip I'd be over the 10 minute YT cap, heh.

  • The jumping near barrels worked on the Coin-Op version as well as in the Colecovision version if my memory is correct. Never remember iit working on the 2600 though. Ill have to try it later. Ill get back to you. =)

  • Oh, and I own a copy of every version in this video. lol

  • One of my all time favs. Great video. Thx.

  • Not a problem.
