  • you are really good! i wanna sign this song at church with a couple of my friends and this really helps .Do you think u can sign " light up the sky by the afters" if you have time?

    God bless!

  • thank you for doing this video.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I'm getting married in a few weeks and wanted to honor God with this song. I thought instead of just listening to it, my fiance and I would sign it. Thank you so much for your teaching! Just what I needed!

  • Just wanted to say thank you so much for this video! I'm the music director at my church's Vacation Bible School and every year I do a song in sign language. Usually I've just been able to piece together a song by going to the ASL dictionary but this time I picked "How Great Thou Art" and I was having a really hard time learning it. I found your video and it helps so much! So thanks!

  • kt, I have signed a few songs for my church, and had a good teacher helping and explaining things along the way which was very helpful in learning the correct way to sign. It is my objective to sign properly in the case that a deaf or hard of hearing person is sitting in the congregation. Your tutorial is extremely helpful! I have been watching your videos for about a year now and have used some of your interpretations for the songs I have done. Hope to see more in the future!

  • THANKS A LOT MAN. I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR KINDNESS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY.

  • Very helpful! Thank you! I'm learning ASL for babies, actually, so I can help our grandkids and babies of my friends how to communicate when they're preverbal. I also sing gospel. I love the idea of being able to share my faith and minister in ASL, too. How great that I can teach the little ones the words "God" and "Christ" so early!

  • THANK YOU for taking the time to slow that down and teach it to us piece by piece i really appreciate that and if it helps you sign really well and i understand all of your words unlike other people who try to make it up and act like they know what their doing and again thank you and GOD bless

    :)

  • Good overall job; "lots of wonder" can also be signed in an even more ASL way by signing "wow" (With the open claw by your mouth.) + "consider". I can tell you're trying to fit English phrases to ASL signs and that's great. But what about "then sings my soul"? The soul isn't literally singing... Can you think of better signs to fit that concept? You've clearly had teachers who stress the importance of concepts. Continue to practice and learn from certified teachers and you'll pick it up well.

  • This is great! A friend and I are planning to sign a song for church, and this is just perfect!

  • Wonderful lesson. Thanks.

I am taking lessons since Dec. 2009. Love this language very much.

We use the royal sign or the banner, but we begin at the shoulder,

crossing in front of our body and then toward the heavens.

Thanks for your effort in this beautiful language to teach others.

    Ms Lois

  • Thanks so much for sharing! You did a great job of teaching! I plan on using this 4 a drama @ my church. Lord Bless you!

  • Thanks for posting this... God has blessed you with the ability to sign... Keep up the great work... God bless you

  • Great gift of teaching and bring this out to the public. More people need to learn to communicate with the Deaf Culture. Your videos let them know they can.

  • I really liked this video. I'm trying to teach myself sign language, so it's really nice to have some how-tos on good Christian songs. It only took two times through watching it and I was able to sign along with your other version. This was very helpful and thank you for posting it.

  • I would suggest that if you really want to learn ASL and not just "mime" or "motions" to look for somewhere to take a class. Sadly, you can learn sign language from a book or even a video. Learning a song is maybe one thing but If you really wanna learn the language then you need a class. B/c there is a lot to it as far as grammar and everything else. Continue on ur search to learn and glorify God in it! God Bless!

  • i do have a friend that happens to be an asl interpreter, so whenever i see her, i ask her questions about the grammar/syntax and new signs, and she signs to me as she talks to me, so that helps too. it's a nice way to learn new signs - seeing them as i hear them

  • You don't have good relate to deaf people in church. You use them and Sign language for grandstand.

  • ok...U r extremely rude! How can you make all these accusations about me? U don't know who i am or how i perseve deaf ppl! I have much respect and love for deaf ppl. One my closest friends deaf. U don't know my sign skill level either! i study for 6 years now. I know still need improve...i don't deny but i am lot better than u say i am. I accept CONSTRUCTIVE criticism but you are just being rude and hateful. so plz if nothing nice say then u leave me alone. I don't understand y u subcribe to ...

  • ...videos anyway if u don't like me. I wish you the best and hope God blesses you! but if u not say anything nice, or constructive or encouraging and just bash me for no reason...then plz leave me alone! thank you. God Bless! and take care!!

  • Your sign hurts my eye. Most lousy signer.

  • @stephenjk if you dont like the way he signs then why are you watching this video? i think he's a great sign interpreter although i'm deaf i use an implant cochlear and i dont sign but i know some LSM (Language signs in Mexico) and i want to learn ASL . you are unappreciative. God bless.

  • thank you for you support but don't allow the ignorant comments bother you either. My skin is too think to allow those things to bother me...if he wishes to have those feelings then we will just ignore him and go on with our life glorifying God how he asks us to. thank you for your support!

  • Thank you soooo much! What a great teacher you are! I was going to teach myself to sign and dance to this song at the same time and you just made it soooo much easier! Thanks again, and God Bless!

  • Thank you for this tutorial. Our family is learning to sign so I really appreciated the explanations in your video.

We look forward to more "How To" Praise/Worship in Asl :-)
