People like you give fishing a really bad name. The more you touch the fish, the more slime coating you remove which decreases it's chance of survival when you finally release it. As much as you handled this carp, and as long as you had it out of water, it most definitely died within a few days. It would have been more humane to have just killed it instantly. The fish was returned in good condition and came to no harm. The fish has since been caught again on several occasions so clearly the fish has not been affected in any way. Thank you.
