Hi I would like to do all this but out of my own handwriting, not some template found on the internet. Would it work if I use an image (with my typed text) as my template instead of a regular font, and then draw out the lines like you do?

@YOZcreative I don't know. I think you will need to use using Matte or Luma transfer modes, but too do that is entirely different.

@YOZcreative Well how i would do it, I would create a new solid match the exact color of the outside of the text(the background, if you wrote your text on white sheet of paper it will be fine). Then would apply the mask not to the text but to the solid. Then i would turn off the solid, do my masking, show the solid and then drop the effect. I think that should work, but im not really sure.
