  • this is the real handgun pistol i was waiting for best of the best

  • what a pair of fat douches. any cunt can try and look pro these days. nice camouflage trousers by the way, shit lips.

  • This is a great gun. Mine is a tack driver and has never failed.

  • retarded. I agree, bogus testing. The jackhammer part? absolutely bogus.

  • but will it blend?

  • Please stop saying "firepower tv"

  • i got that gun its the shit. the best gun ive ever shot. i got night sights and a rubber grip with a flashlight!!!!! ill upload asap

  • If a gun is corrosion resistant - i.e. passes navy salt water criteria (and has for decades) - it isn't going to matter if you bury a weapon 2 years or 2 days. It'll amount to the same thing.

  • these test are nothing. a guy buried his glock 21 for 2 years and did a 500 rd test and is preformed flawlessly. and then he took a plane and dropped the gun out of the plane at 600 ft and it still worked. dont get me wrong, Sig's are good guns, but i still prefer glocks.

  • @HALOFREAK9715

id love to see some proof of this. because i find that hard to believe

  • @spoon420x Google "Glock 21 Torture Test" and here on youtube there is video proof of it. Glocks are fucking genius they go bang every time

  • Horrible testing. I think even a Hi-Point could pass those...

  • I have to agree that the "testing" was the equivalent of dropping it in the dirt a few times. Lots of drama by using a chopper (could have thrown it a hundred feet) CAT (wide foot print of the track distributed the weight) and the concrete point attachment barely pushed the firearm into the grass. Put all the weight of that arm on the pistol next time and shoot it- then maybe I still won't buy one.

  • These guys are super gay. Reminds me of Ace and Gary.

  • Since when is grass "Near solid concrete"? They barely pushed the gun into the grass with the ram! What a bogus video!!

  • @buddiiee they dropped 1 in ice and 1 not in ice fucktard

  • Is that dude at the end a cyborg? I don't want these crazy robots to have firearms!

  • Gotta love that P226! Best handgun designed since the 1911

  • This is the most pointless tests iv'e ever seen

  • wish you would've run the test on another gun simultaneously

  • sweet head cam

  • why NAVY SEALs us it

  • 1:06

AAH!! You got me cringing... :-(

  • The "r"; where is the "r"???

  • @mogeroithe the p226r only means it has an accessory rail whereas they could be dropping p226 elites. they don't need the r because it could be a different model and why have an acessory rail for something you're going to destroy?

  • its reliable, but it would be more impressive if they did this all with the same gun

  • bold guy just pisses me off looking at him

  • Can someone do this with an H&K USP!????

  • GOOOOOOOOOO SIG!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wouldn't call those tests at all. More like all show.

-The ice protects the gun in that fall.

-Dragging a gun freely on gravel... does that even qualify as a test? Oh, it got dirty a little, but no more banged up as if it was shipped.

-30 ton tractor doesn't mean jack when the gun will just sink into the ground. Try that tractor test on pavement then talk to me.

-Same with the jack hammer. It was a slow push too (nothing hammered or "crushed")

    -Some water and soap, wow...

    BTW, I own a P226.

  • @MrThomasPalmer I completely agree with you dude!!!

  • Please do this with a High Point.

  • I didn't know Sig had an infomercial

  • glocks turn ...

  • best vid ever!

  • i want the p220 because you know... 45 is obviously the best.

  • Interesting and yet useless test. SIG can't even pass the AFT service reliability test (tests that S&W M&P and Glock passed with flying colors).

  • @supermaucat ive heard that before too.

  • @supermaucat Where do you get your info on that?

Is there a website or vid on it?

It sounds like something I'd enjoy reading, maybe help me in my next gun purchase.

    Thanks,

    Nick

  • @NickPech Search for this phrase on your fav search engine:

"ATF has rejected the Sig P250 as Unreliable"

Here's a summary: "11 of the 20 test shooters experienced stoppages with Sig Sauer's handguns--in some cases, as many as 10 stoppages."

In other words, Sig's a piece of crap.

  • @supermaucat dumb shit this video is the torture test of the sig p226, not the p250, which is a completely different (and experimental) design. In other words, the ATF's rejection of the p250 in no way reflects the reliability of the p226 design. Which has been around since the 80s. And is well known as (next to the Glock) one of the most reliable pistol designs in the world.

  • @migmachata Glock isn't #1

  • @supermaucat I disagree. The Sig P250 is not a successful design, but the P-series (220, 226, 229) are undeniably some of the most RELIABLE handguns ever built. Ask ATF, USSS, FAM, SAS, ad nauseum. Most new pistols having growing pains. That should not be an indictment of the entire company. Glock 36s had magazine problems; S&W M&Ps have had trigger return spring problems; HK USP's have had some issues with the safety/decockers, but that doesn't mean those makers don't put out fine guns.

  • near concrete solid ground? IT WAS ON THE FUCKING GRASS YOU DUMBASSES!!

  • 5 rounds? Really?

  • good gun, but some really bogus testing.

  • they should have beat up one of the Sigs and gave the other one to me :D

  • This video was chopped up into segments... nothing clear, or chronological. Nothing really live. I therefore come to the following conclusion:

"We should doubt your truthfulness, but still believe in sig"

  • pcking up a 226 in a few days!!! bring it on zombies..

  • If you're going through hell, going to war, and saving the world from zombies consecutively, you'll want a Sig!

  • Most realistic torture tests are mud sand water freezing and possibly drop. But who the he'll is going to get thier gun ran over by a truck? No one! You keep it safe and with you.

  • It's a SIG!

  • the question is not will it shoot the question is,will it blend?

  • i dont quite understand you people...nothing is ever good enough, is it? keep in mind as well as a sig is made it is still just metal, and metal can be broken and warped, if that is what your true intent is...these tests arent designed to break the gun without a shadow of doubt, doing that would be pointless because no gun would pass...their designed to be harsh, and stressful on the weapon, but there is a chance of survival...which it did survive.

  • @annihilationnegitive i mean...seriously...no handgun would survive being set on concrete, and having steel tracks, with 30+ tons of weight, driven over it. if you really wanted to just destroy it...strap 50 pounds of high explosive to it, drop it in lava, freeze it in liquid nitrogen for 15 mins then drop it from 1000 feet up, onto a steel plate, which has another 30 pounds of high explosives rigged to go off on impact...while at the same time 10 .50 caliber browning 1919s rain hell on it...

  • @annihilationnegitive

That sounds awesome! Lets do it dude!

I don't care if the gun passes or not WHAT A SPECTACLE!!!

  • @annihilationnegitive i mean really...is that practical at all? no weapon could ever survive something like that...so you come up with practical tests...

    so just quit bitching...

  • the CAT may weigh a lot, but keep in mind that the weight is evenly distributed over two tracks, each with a large surface contact area. so the actual pressure on the gun was not as great, especially given that it was on grass. still, i'm not gonna dispute the toughness of a Sig - the average user's gun will never see that kind of punishment

  • concrete solid ground my fuckin' ass

  • That are great and all but really a lot of firearms could pass these test. Really if you want to prove a weapon is reliable shoot it with no cleaning or lube for a while and see how it runs.

As far as how tough the frame is it's an alloy frame, really a steel framed gun would probably hold up even better against the crushing and drop test.

  • @oldannyboy37 *These. My apologies, I went back and changed a sentence and forgot to correct that.

  • There is a guy on youtube who says sigs are all crap. He says the finish is ruined just after a few months. He says everyone in his department has that prob... Could anyone confirm that? By the way... I dont believe a word of wath he says...

  • If you want to test whether the gun can be crushed, put it on cement or something else solid when you bulldoze over it, not on the grass.

  • I love my 229...so will anyone that walks through my door uninvited :-)

    Peace

  • gay

  • fake ass test on soft dirt near concrete hard grass! CONCRETE HARD GRASS!!!! dumb fat bald prick.... PASSED. this is a joke. sigs magazines are notorious for jamming, torture test that... THEY CAN'T EVEN SPELL TORTURE CORRECTLY ON THEIR HEAD LINE... Tortue!!! Ha ha ha... fucking MOOOORONS!!!!

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles i heared about sigs being reliable over all. I dont know why some of u post that shit here... Why the hell do the navy seals use it? Cuz they can afford a gun that jams? Think about it

  • cute airsoft vest and blue camo.

  • Glock and Sig are both nice pistols. They both take a beating and keep firing. You do have to watch all the Glock torture tests before you judge. Contracts are irrelevant. Keep in mind that a the second largest factor to reliability, for law enforcement and military, is cost. In that regard, Glock has a huge advantage. Sigs are just so damn expensive. I like them both, but the Glock is a better value for your buck. The Sig is a work of art, and priced accordingly. Just my opinion. Peace.

  • but...they never shoot the damn guns!

  • @scilonthreat whatch the end og the vid

  • what does the magazine have to do with it?????

  • Fantastic gun

  • Haha BS

  • throw a grenade at it and see what happens

  • glock could have done this easy....

  • @Blk05titan26 Untell you dropped it out of the bird....

  • @Blk05titan26 yeah....untell you froze it and dropped it out of a chopper haha

  • @Blk05titan26 nah, a glock woulda blew up in the guys hands

  • @lexmark136 watch the glock torture testing before makeing a statement like that

  • @Blk05titan26 Untill you put the magazine in

  • sigs are the best

  • your podcast link is down and i would love to have this video to go back to back with my p226

  • Look at it close ... It's not a P226 ??

    It's a P225/P6

  • another reason to get a sig sauer =)

  • since when is grass and dirt "near concrete"

  • Awesome video, but a almost cried seeing that Sig dropped from the chopper... but I was happy again to see that it was ok and ready to take more abuse.

    Got Sig?

  • strange discussion, there are maybe 10 pistols in the world who fit for military duty, the small difference these guns have do not make diffrens,

keep it clean and they will work, this discussion is more a fight like...my hockey team is better than yours. And if u are in the army and they have glock like in my country u must accept it. You maybe dont like it, its ugly it dont fit your hand but it will work.

  • tis sad that this isnt the service weapon for all of our military right now.

    as they say,

"always remember that your weapon is made by the lowest bidder"

  • The Sig is in use by some of the military. The SEALs have them and most of the military federal agents do such as Air Force OSI, Army CID etc.

Going back to the military trials, only the Sig and Beretta passed. Both were proven to be outstanding firearms and still are to this day.

  • notice that I said ALL of our military. im well aware that its used by the SEALS, but i just wish that we could make this the sidearm for all of the military. But seeing as our government cheaped out and went with the beretta, I dont think that will happen. I'm not denying that the beretta is a good weapon, but it just isnt the same as a SIG or say an HK

  • I get what you are saying, I think there is simply way too much brand worship amongst gun owners. Beretta has performed just fine in the military, and does to this day. The biggest problem with the Berettas in the military today, is the purchase of aftermarket mags that sometimes suck.

  • What's realy "Freaky" Is I saw this very gun for sale in thier store afterwards..

    Of course it sold Too!!

I still think a Glock is more rugged but the Glock is useing SIGs breach block technology, as are many others out there.

I like SIGs & bought my first one from Keislers way back when..

Wes if you ever need another "Sidekick" to tear stuff up let me know..

All this stated from a Guy who "Has" Fired guns, had lots of Sex, leave my house whenever I damn well please & Have lots of guns.. Hk

  • These tests are stupid and completely useless. Why torture test it in soft dirt and then call it near concrete hard? Dragging it makes no difference as it's light, and made to take a beating. Dropping it give the same pressure as shooting it... a REAL torture test is shooting a 1,000 rounds... which NOBODY has done on video with a SIG, guns shoot... not get dragged or frozen, it's like pouring barbecue on it and then shooting it, pointless and this is NOT a torture test, it's just kids playing.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles

I would rather have the extra weight and rigid steel frame for quicker and more accurate follow up shots. The sig also has a 4.5 inch barrel, vs the Glocks 4 inch barrel. The SIG also has a better trigger. The Glock has a triple action trigger, (quad action if you include the firing) and its polymer, making it mushy and not as clean as the SA SIG. Glock sights need to be replaced with steel sights because polymer will wear down if you holster and draw it enough.

  • Cocksmoker,a ll Glocks have different size, my G-21 has a 4.7' barrel dumbass (just by that i could tell your a dumbass). And none land on 4' exactly. You are on a bitching spree, "Glocks are better, cause more cops got them" Ha ha, Glock sights come on target with arms extended, SIG don't FACT, Glock has less parts, FACT, Glock has 3.5- 5.5 trigger pull FACT, Glocks have a Tenifer finish stronger than SIG's, FACT, Glock "Safe Action" is better than manual safety, you just got shitted on slut.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles Glocks arn't as accurate as SIGS. Glocks are plastic. Glocks sights wear fast. Glocks slide release is too small. Glocks explode. Aiming a gun doesn't come natural, it comes with practice, so you're wrong. Their are more accidental discharges with Glocks than any other handgun. Glock trigger is mushy and has an unclean double action break. But hey, it won't rust. SIG has more parts because it has MORE FEATURES, making it a BETTER HANDGUN.
  • @12GaugeLosAngeles

Metal vs metal is much smoother than polymer vs polymer, which is why the SIGs trigger is smoother, and that means BETTER ACCURACY.

Glocks chambered in 45 and 40 are known to kB when using +P loads. This doesnt happen in 9mm Glocks because the 9mm cartridge is naturally high pressure, meaning the base of the casing is stronger. 40 and 45 do not have strong enough cases to fire +P loads from an unsupported chamber.

I bet steel doesn't crack like plastic does.

  • Glock rides on a steel rail, with the steel slide dipped in Tenifer, which has been proven to be stronger than a piece of SIG, you lost that... even high points meet SAMMI specs, lost again... wow, google will dick slap you if you type it in, and Glock has way more cotracts than sig cause SA/DA guns have been proven to be less effective in combat, sorry.. you got a crappy outdated gun that no army wants... sell it, get a glock and an education so people on youtube stop pwning you... PWNED!!!!!!!

  • Glock has had issues with their (partial) steel slide rail breaking off from the plastic frame. The slide rail on the Glock is rediculously small. Glock is looser, thats why its more reliable, but i'll be damned if my SIG doesn't go bang when i want it to.

Glock has more contracts because it CHEAPER and LIGHTER.

DOUBLE ACTION guns have been prooven to be less effective in combat, they have a long heavy trigger pull, decreasing speed and accuracy.

  • Glocks and Beretta have contracts with Army's, SIG don't..funny how Glocks are all over the word cause they have actually been battle proven, it has been sadly proven that soldiers and cops have been killed off duty and in battle with their guns on safety cause the fact the safety, the double action hammer, the snags, the half cock, all has led to accidental deaths cause of unintentional misfires, it's too complex to fine tune in battle, sorry...no army has SIG's, FACT. Look it up, Glocks rule.

  • Well to name two, Dansk and British military issue SIG as their standard sidearm.

    Its also used by military units in;

    Ireland

    Iran

    Japan and

    Luxembourg

Glock has never passed any military trials accept the Austrian Army, if i recall correctly.

Why did the SEALs switch from Beretta, to SIG?

Why do the SAS use SIG?

You need to start constructing a reasonable argument and start making sense because im not going to argue with a child.

  • They don't even issue Berettas anymore. Soldiers and Marines only get Carbines, you have to have a special MOS or be an officer to be issued a handgun.

Beretta has a double action trigger pull with a trigger travel of 1.32 inches. Not to mention, they break constantly and have bad reliability. It is also inexcusably massive for a 9mm. Border patrol even dumped the Beretta!

  • SEALs abandoned the Mark 23 because it was too large, now they're using SIG, again. Almost my entire family is military, and I'm going to be an 8404, and I can assure you Marines don't get issued a handgun unless they have a special MOS or are an officer.

Beretta has a trigger pull of 1.32 inches. Do you know how long that is? That makes it slow to rapid fire and harder to keep the barrel on track while you pull the trigger.

  • As far as the "cheap recoil spring" comment goes, all handguns need their springs changed after a few thousand rounds. Its only a spring tempered coil of steel, and it does wear.

When not changed, it will put additional stress on the frame of the gun.

Failing to maintain a recoil spring on a polymer gun would proove to be more catastophic than steel, because polymer cracks easier.

  • SEALs use Sig P226 in 9mm.

  • Not true... Beretta is standard issue to all Army and Marine units unless prohibited by the nature of the MOS

  • And by the way, I am a Glock fan, but I just like to argue with idiots like you that think they know it all because they Googled a firearm.

  • Law enforcement agencies use Glock more than anything else, because police officers don't have to use their gun that often, and Glocks are cheaper.

I wonder why the SEALs use SIG? Is it because they're cheaper than Glocks? I wonder why an elite team that can use ANY handgun, chooses SIG. Is it because Glocks are better?

"Glock has way more cotracts than sig"

LE Officers are forced to use Glocks (because its cheaper), but SEALs are not forced to use SIG. Which one holds more weight?

  • I think its funny the way you say SIG is a Glock knock off, when the SIG isn't polymer and has been around longer than Glock.

SIGs have a good finish and rarely rust. If you fail to maintain your weapon to the point where a SIG will rust and malfunction, you, sir, do not wipe your ass after shitting.

Marines are NOT issued Glocks. Thats a fact, look it up. I would love for you to show me a picture of a Marine with a Glock.

  • When you say contracts what are you talking about? Because world wide sig has more contracts than glock. If you are talking US LE glock does have more contracts but if you haven't noticed in the past few years more and more of the market share is being taken up by many different manufacturers. Also striker fired pistols aren't used by a whole lot of countries most sidearms are SA/DA because of the proven reliability. Stop just making shit up.

  • more info to slap against your face, ever heard of double action only? that's what most Glock variants like XD's have, it's a half cock and lock moron, what the FUCK is a quad action? You really are making SIG look worst by bringing in botch comments with zero merit. And Sig's a DA/SA single and double action, you just got schooled again bitch, and again... Glocks sights NEED to be replace from too much holster drawing, what shit hole did you crawl out of..."Glocks break if shot" Little queer.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles

Quad action is what happens when you pull the trigger on a Glock, 4 actions happen, it has 3 safeties and including the droping of the striker which adds up to 4. I thought you knew how to count.

Yes, the SIG is a SA/DA, meaning if you cock the hammer or rack the slide, its single action. Thats what the / means, and/or.

Glock sights protrude and are POLYMER, many glock sights get replaced with steel sights because they wear on holsters. Plastic vs plastic.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles

And the way you replied to my message which did not verbally offend you in any way, prooves you have never fired a gun, never had sex, never leave your house, and obsess over something that you can't have, guns. Plain and simple.

  • This gun is an EQUAL to a Glock in quality, different functions and the SIG's DA/SA action but overall, both end up in the same 9.5 overall in excellence in all aspects of combat... but SIG is like Colt, they want more money for what they know is an unfair price, Google remington vs colt war, Colt the owner of the company was known to be ruthless in pricing, same with Sig, H&K and 1911's of good make. If you look at how much Glock charges overall... who wins? Sig's are great gun, bad owners.

  • Good gun,but it's like 300.00 more than a glock. Impressive non the less.

  • Try these same "bullshit" tests with ANY 1911 and they would ALL FAIL. Nuf said.

  • I dunno aboutll of them. I think there might be one or 2 that would pass. Could be wrong though.

  • Sigs are great guns, but the torture is an embarrassment to the gun. Dropping with ice reduces the impact. Running over mushy grass and Dragged..nothing special

  • Glock still kicking ass hahaha!!!

  • Never trusty ANYONE wearing blue camo

  • Except if they are female with glitter on.

  • Hahaha! No.

  • I wouldn't have a heart to torture a Sig that way... in fact, any firearm I own. You know, in real life your gun probably never will be exposed to a test like that, so why torture it and ruin the gun's finish??

  • 1:14 is a LIE! They didn't do shit but touch it lightly and push it into the thick and plush grass. Sigs are awesome but this video is very flawed.

  • Your a tard.....put your hand under it.

  • also...running the tractor over the gun on solid concrete..i don't know if you guys were paying attention but the gun was clearly on grass with dirt.....liars!

  • He actually said - 'concrete hard ground' not concrete.

Still a load of bullshit though!

  • @bc5620

they said "near concrete solid ground", dumbass.

  • @bc5620 I think if it was solid concrete then gun would have busted

  • @bc5620

LOL, he said "near concrete solid" Kinda like concrete, but not quite.

    Also, it's soil. :)

  • I don't understand...how's putting 226 in a block of ice increase the torture? if anything the block of ice obsorbed the impact of the fall...what a crock of s***

  • Ice makes things extremely brittle..yes the ice did cushion the fall but they did drop it once with it and once with out it i think...

  • I bought my Sig p226 over 12 yrs ago, and it still rocks !!!!! The rod and springs are in excellent condition. SIGARMS RULE !!!!

  • if they ran over the 226 on concrete, SNAP!

  • Now fire 3000 rounds without a jam.

  • These are lame tests. So they drop the gun out of a heli and then function test....big deal! Why aren't they actually shooting rounds through the weapons after each test? Then at the end they only shoot one of the many guns they are testing.....why not shoot all of them? This is lame and is just a wanna be Glock test.

  • This is just a preview. they did do all the same things a glock has done and more. (by more I mean dropped out of a helo, but that is like the worlds tallest building adding a pole at the top to beat the other). Both are incredible pistols and if you are better at shooting one over the other and it just fits in your hand better, then great.

  • If you really think a hoe-ram pushing a gun in the ground is "lame", then you are nuts.

  • Coming from "tacticaltupperware" Youre not biased are you?! Ill take my 229 up against any Glock any day. Im not bashing Glock, I have nothing against them, I just prefer Sig...or something that feels like it was made for a human hand.

  • Look, Im just saying that this is sensationalism T.V. I am not a Sig hater, I have owned several over the years and they are solid. I am just saying that if you are going to do a torture test then you need to fire the weapon after each revolution.

  • You cant just do a bunch of stuff to a gun and then fire it last. What if they are using a different weapon for the tests vs. the one they test fire? We will never know because they fire the guns last after a million edits and cuts. This clip is really for entertainment and should not be considered a true torture test. Look for adcosteve's Glock torture test to see what a true torture test should look like.

  • I love my Sig 229. I would say it is a top notch tactical side arm. I just can't get into plastic guns like Glocks and XDs. I've fired them and was not impressed at all. I will stick to my Sig and my Kimber.

  • Run them over on concrete, actually turn the industrial jackhammer on and do that on concrete. This is so lame. And the guys pants are retarded.

  • agreed, dooing these tests on grass shows nothing and i laughed when he said nearly as hard as concreat

  • ahh? i can do the same with my 400 $ cz75

  • It's also weird that thre would be Blackwater SIGs when Blackwater issues Glock 17's to their guys. Have you seen the new Glock 22's or the Glock 21 SF? Any opinions? I know you're a SIG guy and most SIG guys hate most other guns lol. Glocks are a love it or hate it gun. Just curious.

  • GLOCKs aren't bad guns, I just don't like their grip angle, or how light they are. I also think GLOCKs aren't as reliable in other calibers as they are in 9mm.

How do you like those CT lasergrips? I don't believe lasers are too pratical, but I actually REALLY like how they look on the SIGs, and I like that they say "SIG SAUER" on them. How do they feel compared to the standard grips the gun comes with, or the hogue rubber grips?

  • My big problem with the Glock is the factory trigger. It's very clunky. It's also a top heavy gun, so I lose my sight picture easier cause the gun snaps up instead of back like a SIG. The CTrace grips have a little more "grip" than the standard ones. IMO they're just as ergonomic, although they do add a tiny amount of width to the gun. It's barely noticeable though. Same great SIG feel. I've never used hogue rubber grips, so I dunno about that. The CT grips are the best grips aroun I think

  • I disagree with the claim that freezing it in ice then dropping it is more torture then simply dropping it from the helicopter.

The ice is actually cushioning the fall, spreading the impact over a larger surface

  • .... The USP I liked a lot but it felt like a plastic brick. For ME my favorite pistol is the 226 because it fits like a glove in my hands, great accuracy, sights line right up, and the most dependable. Your opinion of your pistol is your choice there are no right or wrong answers.

  • It's all about preference. I was looking at either getting a Glock, HK USP, P99, or a Sig 226. After firing all of them and feeling the grip I went with the 226 for 600 in a new earth tone with a matte black slide. Out of all of them, to me if fit the best in my hand and had the smoothest slide and trigger. I wanted to like the glock but it just didn't feel right in my hands. I wanted the p99 because of the awesome look it had but the trigger put felt very poor....

  • Sig is just a overpriced glock with a different safety.

  • Let me settle this GLOCK vs. SIG debate. Ask yourself this, which gun is in the holster of the U.S. NAVY SEALs and the British 22nd SAS?

    The answer: SIG

By the way, if you listen to the arguments that GLOCK fanboys make as to why GLOCK is superior to HK and SIG, it always comes down to price. Face it, GLOCK is the "value" brand.

  • seals also use m4s. armalites jam all the time and are underpowered pieces of shit. just because its used by so and so doesnt mean its the best.

glock is the best all around bang for buck. fuck external hammer system pistols. ever try to draw a sig, hk or colt 1911 from a concealed article of clothing? it totally gets caught up. ive never had my glock get caught because its designed for concealment and ease of removing from holster. there are videos proving glock is better than hk on youtube.

  • Its not only the SEALs, but also the SAS.

Units like the above can get their hands on basically any weapon they chose, and for decades they've chosen the "to hell and back reliability" of the SIG, and that DOES say a lot.

"glock is the best all around bang for buck."

You just proved my point. For GLOCK fans its all about the price. Screw the cost, if its a weapon I'm going to bet my life on, the cost is irrelevant. The SIG could cost 10k and it would still be a better purchase.

  • exactly! i would only trust my life with the best as well (as do the elite special forces). beretta and sig sauer were two of the last competing pistols for the military contract (before they signed the m9 not too long ago, maybe several years). the beretta was choosen solely because it was less expensive and the military would get a deal because of the fatories. sig sauer performed better and was the better pistols according to the reviews, but the m9 beat the p226 in cost.

  • Not only that, but the SIG came out on top as the new pistol for the Department of Homeland Security. The USCG are now carrying SIGs, as well as ICE special agents and Federal Air Marshals. They all have the new P229s in DAK chambered in .40S&W, except for the Air Marshals which use .357SIG. GLOCK failed to meet ICE's test requirements.

Moreover, if you look at all the local PDs that actually have higher budgets, they're usually carrying SIGs.

  • elsamurai, don't forget that the SEALS never really adopted the Mark 23 SOCOM and 9/10 SEALS stayed with the Sig 226

  • That's because the SOCOM pistol was too large for most of them. Either way, the P226 is the best pistol ever created.

  • I agree. The 226 is my favorite pistol I've ever owned. As soon as I felt it, I knew it was the best gun I ever laid hands on. It just FELT RIGHT. Hard to explain in words. I also love the 229. I have a 226 in 9mm and a 229 w/ Crimson Trace is 40 S&W. I like it better than my USP compact, my Glock 22, 19, and even my Kimber Custom TLE/RL. Just curious? Have you ever fired a SOCOM? They have crazy match grade accurac, but are just too big? WHAT WERE they THINKING with that one?

  • No, I haven't fired the MK.23 before, even though I'd love to. It is indeed supposed to posses match grade accuracy, and rated to handle +P+ .45 ACP ammo. It is indeed an "offensive" pistol.

Yeah, I've seen the new blackwater sigs...don't like them though. I wouldn't buy anything with the blackwater logo on it because I hate those piece of shit mercenaries.

You should put a video up of your two sigs. I especially want to see your 229, as that's the model I plan on getting soon.

  • I'll try and get a vid up. I just have the plain all black DA/SA 226 and 229. The 229 has Crimson Trace though. I like ita little better than the 229 cause I have smaller hands. It definately feels the same as a 226 though, nd same accuracy and reliability. I wanted the Blackwater Sig just cause of the 20 round mags honestly. My buddy works for Triple Canopy and they are a much more proffesional company than Blackwater. I don't have a problem with PMC's in general, but Blackwater I do.

  • Bwater runs by the SEAL ethos, which IMHO is a more run-and-gun, blow shit up ethos. Shoot first, ask questions later. Triple Canopy was started b Delta guys, who IMHO are quieter proffesionals who think and plan things out first. They're very smart, and are not hesitant to pull the trigger, yet they aren't eager to. To me Triple Canopy instills this in their operators. Bwater never did and they were linked to so many scandals. I do think good contractors help keep our boys alive over there.
