Question about balls

I use a double yellow which they say is the 'professional' grade. But it seems that the balls used in the above video are much bouncier and faster than mine. Can someone tell me why this is?

@jedfriedman Jonathan Power (in green) hit a top spin shot that made the ball die at the front of the court.

Squash at a high level is full of deception, making the opponent think you're going to hit one shot but fooling him with a different one.

The top spin drop actually looks like Powers was going to hit a straight drive (ie a shot to the back of the court) but in fact died at the front.

He's opponent Matthews had no chance.

Hey! Propably You'll say i'm silly, but i have doubts about ball they're playing :x

I'm playing squash since january 2010 and even with hot ball (Dunlop Pro or even Competition) i can't make it bounce like that. When somebody aims just above the tin and make powerful stroke then ball is down in 0,5sec :x

@DoggyDoggyStyle, OK, my mistake! I had some real training and started in amateur tournament, IT IS DUNLOP PRO (or another dwo yellow dots ball). I've improved my technique and now i know - pro ball can be VERY warm and then REAL SQUASH is starting ;)

@DoggyDoggyStyle, hey, it's all about swing and stroke technique. You don't need super extra power and Pudzianowski muscles to play "a good lenght". Get a lesson with a trainer or oppress experienced player until he help You ;) It's small step for a player, one giant leap for the game :D

My best match against one player (2,5yrs in squash) was 3-1 to him, now i can win 3-0 almost every single match ;)

@captainLAGER, hey, they're just wiping up their sweat out of hands. Wet hands causes bad grip etc I prefer to use a wristbands to prevent getting sweat from all over arms to my hand and wipe my hand of my t-shirt :P

I think the temperature could well be an important factor here.

The courts i play in are freeeeezing! concrete walls too... Not a nice warm glass box. But heck, i can't complain, for the tiny membership i pay for my gym and the squash is inclusive.

Absolutely fallen in love with the sport. Me and my old man just thought we'd give it a go one day and haven't looked back since. Tough old game!

Couldn't agree more about Beachill - he seems to hold forever and then execute the perfect shot. Perhaps slightly under-rated amongst nicol, power, palmer, shabana etc... Certainly never really spoken about the way thoese other guys are.

he did it on purpose. het hits the ball with the back of the rackets so it looks like a normal lenght en the balls get such a spin dat it will come out slow of the wall. very hard to play shot.

The better you get in squash, you're reflexes are quicker especially at their level & Peter Nicol just wanted to be safe as there was still a chance he could hit John White as he was pulling out of the way. Gotta remember also Peter is left handed so being on his forearm shot it woulda hurt like hell if John copped one in the backside =).

I think it was because Nicol was chasing the ball with his back to the front wall and White was on the floor right in front of him when he started going to the corner, so he stopped cause he wasn't sure where White was. Also, possibility of getting a stroke (a point) out of it, and also refrain from hitting White!
