  • Anybody else get to the point where they knew which candles had the dagger so they could avoid it? I hated accidentally replacing my throwing axe or boomerang with the triple-throw bonus with an unexpected dagger... took a million of them to kill anything...

  • Beautiful track! I feel like im in a midevil time searching for my long lost love and shes no where to be found.

  • sad but awesome!!

  • I remember this stage as the first one were the difficulty went up a considerable notch.

  • The Waterfalls of Agharta track in Castlevania Lords of Shadow took pieces of this original SNES track. Both of them are great!

  • @Fingolfin3423 I thought the same!!!!

  • @HunterOfTheNight100 I would not stoop to the level of someone throwing "your mom" comments at me. Don't expect me to "try" anything remotely similar to your comment, because it would only be an insult to my own intelligence.

  • I remember the first time playing this stage. I died so many times that it became a permanent scar on my brain. Now I can clear this stage without taking damage or dying. BECAUSE YOU CANT LET THE GAME WIN LIKE THAT!!!

  • @MarlonOtakubrother In the game, I got about 2 RECORDED deaths...because I used save state and load state on an emulator...

But, I don't remember having a game that let a die-scar in my brain...except in TinyTank (the level with those fucking dancing robot!...)

  • 3 dislikes. Them people need a right hook.

  • @HunterOfTheNight100 Because people like wordy garbage?

  • @hunterof7shadows I enjoyed this surreal trip through the thesaurus. Use big, fancy words. I like that. But you've taken beautiful sentences and boiled all the normal words out from the cracks in their lexicographical shell. These statements you're making come off as unwieldy and cliche, rather than eloquent and lucid.

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

    ?

Enjoy your marriage, good sir. >_>

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

    You're cool.

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

That's cute. You just automatically assume that I'm a guy, by asking me if I have a girlfriend. Even so, why would you find the need to ask if I have a /girl/ friend just for me to prove that I have a life?

I'd totally bet that you have a girlfriend too.

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

Or, I stopped playing because I have better things to do with my life. Do you? No, you don't.

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

Right under my first comment on the video. It has my YouTube username.

Right next to my username, what does it say?

That's how long ago I actually cared about Castlevania. >_> Idiot..

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

Admittedly, Simon is blonde in his quest, but not in the first game, he' has brown hair there, and he has redish hair in Chronicles and Judgment.

But, before you respond to this comment, think about this question first:

Who gives a shit about Simon's hair?? -____-

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

    No, you dickmunch.

He has different hair color in seemingly every game, and in Castlevania IV itself, Simon is not blonde. Oh well.

  • I love this song!

  • @hunterof7shadows if you watch you tube movie trailers entitled demons and the church and dario,s Phenomena and Suspercia and City of the Living Dead Great movies with Killer soundtracks

  • @hunterof7shadows That is true. Though, judging by the way this tune sounds, it sounds pretty somber to be pictured with a scene where zombies, demons, werewolves, and vampires are after you. I always pictured this tune as a funeral song.

  • This tune always makes me picture a grave yard at night.

  • I really enjoy most all of Super Castlevania IV's soundtrack, but over time, this has become my favorite. A really well done, melancholy song.

  • @hunterof7shadows ur gay lol

  • @luisfernando222 I thought that was rather poetic. But whatever, Youtube is full of polarized opposites. These top rated comments are a perfect example.

  • Shit gets real when you hear this.

  • 1 ppl loves dracula :D

  • When I play this level and hear this music, I feel dark, cold, dripping wet and utterly alone. This is where shit starts to get real.

  • The Music reminds me of the Dario Argento Movies

  • @luisfernando222 ur a faggot, thumbs down.

  • @hunterof7shadows

    Okay, finnnnnne. XD

He stopped replying anyways, so he's mad as hell. How sad.

  • @hunterof7shadows Reading Comprehension wasn't your strong point in English class, was it?

  • @hunterof7shadows :D Text-based RPG, much?

  • @PTMDLBTSify

    lolwut

  • constantlimit, I apologize for the massive wall that this fail troll and I are making, but he's just too much fun to make mad. XD

  • @PTMDLBTSify

  • @PTMDLBTSify

  • @PTMDLBTSify Wow.... this is the second video i find with you playing little kiddie games with some other joker. I love a good arguement, but do you have to ruin the point of the music by insulting people and their opinions? Let them have their opinion. Be the better person. We are here for the music, and seeing your immaturity below the video just ruins the mood.

  • @FenrirsDarkSeal

    Don't feed the troll.

  • @PTMDLBTSify

Well, you're not supposed to think of your sister like that.

  • @PTMDLBTSify

Well, now you're officially the worst troll ever. Go back to fat camp, your mom misses your company.

  • @PTMDLBTSify

I don't see you with any videos. Come back when you've actually scratched a piece of crap together, hm?

  • @PTMDLBTSify

Great insult, did you have to use all two years to drum it up?

  • @PTMDLBTSify i know i was just doing a Afro man reference but thank-you for the info on that also :)

  • @PTMDLBTSify You just come on here to toss around random insults don't you? I do, however, appreciate you typing out this last reply to me twice, I know you made a typo the first time around when you mistyped 'You' at the beginning, the first time around. I fear though your arguments/insults are getting a bit mixed up, I think this "skill discussion" was had with some one else. So, type what you will, I'm not fueling your bullshit any more.

  • @PTMDLBTSify

    lolwut

  • @PTMDLBTSify Well, now I'm better, I got to the clocktower before I lost all of my passwords.

  • @PTMDLBTSify I wish you made sense, you piece of trash.

  • @PTMDLBTSify

    Hai :D

  • @PTMDLBTSify that would be awesome and his weapon would be a colt 45.

  • I have never played Castlevania but I love its music. Thanks AVGN.

  • @PTMDLBTSify

No don't worry I'm chilled out. :) It's just that I was pointing out that Simon is blonde because last time I played the game, it seemed that he had brown hair, just like his NES iterations... which were more red looking btw. :)

  • @PTMDLBTSify

Congrats on telling me this a year late xD. But if you must know, I didn't mean that he's blonde in a BAD way, it's just that I've seen him with nearly every other hair color known to man, so I was surprised to see blonde that's all. Chill... :)

  • Hearing this on remade on LoS was simply amazing!

  • @PTMDLBTSify And then you'll wake up realizing that you could never kick my ass. Not even with the help of all the cheat codes from gamefaqs.com or even the help of a Game Genie. Now pick up your SNES controller and press start to continue, then David Carradine yourself.

  • @PTMDLBTSify Actually i've been playing NES through SNES all my life.

  • @PTMDLBTSify Well I'm 15 at the moment, i used to play this game when i was REALLY young so this is like a revisiting, i've finished the game now.

  • @PTMDLBTSify It's that dang green thing that keeps getting me, but i finally got past it and made it to the REAL enemy. INSTANTDEATHWHEELOFDEWM.

  • @PTMDLBTSify 1 reason.

    I CANT.

    STOP.

    DYING.

  • I used to sit on the options screen just listening to this track. Lovely.

  • I HATE THIS LEVEL.

  • Yeah I agree with Sindrom, this is a rather deeply thought provoking tune. When I hear this I imagine myself alone in some old abandoned eastern European castle, forced to hide out there because some plague or another is wiping out humanity. As I smoke whatever cigarette I can scrounge up, I contemplate the fate of whatever is left of civilization.

  • @GambleSauce fantastic visual :) A castle surrounded by dark enveloping forest no doubt,

  • Im glad they didnt put an animated water theme. I just love this one. @Sindrom11 (the high rated comment up there) describes this brilliant song flawlessly, thats exactly what every single note of this song wants to say for us. This game is unique.......Never more, my friends....no other like..... this is the only one, and thats it.

  • Castlevania lords of shadow has a hint of this song. Waterfall of Aghartia I think it was called. I love castlevania. And I want to Kinuyo yamashita as my wife... lol

  • makes me want to break out the snes and go again! yes love this game from the bottom of myheart

  • Too bad this plays on a short level. :/

  • @2745Joshadow Yeah, but the level was a bitch getting past for me.

  • @Warriorsfan0111111

That's the thing with Super Castlevania IV. It's super tough at first, but it just takes practice.

I'm sure (if you haven't already) if you just keep going at it, you'll get past it.

  • @2745Joshadow I'm at the level that plays 'rotating room'.

  • @Warriorsfan0111111

Oh, that level is interesting. I think the torture chamber might be next (I forget the order of the levels now).

If you think Super Castlevania IV is hard, THIS level will make you rage so hard. XD

  • @2745Joshadow the game gets harder each time you beat it. just dont turn off the snes.

  • @Warriorsfan0111111 thats because you suck. Just wait till you get towards the end and you will feel like a pathetic sore loser.

  • @2745Joshadow agreed this level along with level 1 is my favorite in the whole game.

  • Thing serene nocturne echoes within my mind as a ponder on a painted image of a lone vampire hunter sitting amid a serene and isolated mountain wilderness that is crawling with demons from the void u leashed by the cruel magic of Dracula. The lone wanderer sits after a day of fighting and drawing nearer unto his arch foe and ponders upon the outcome of his quest as its future appears as a vague cloud of fog before his eyes. Castlevania 4 is by far the best classic game ever made.

  • i couldn't listen to this all day and not get tired of it

  • You choose: to do a very groovy, epic, and catchy soundtrack... or this, very introspective, deep, eerie... a masterpiece.

  • it takes a true lover of music to realize that this was a great soundtrack (the OST got a lot of bad reviews... those people were deaf I'm assuming). I'm glad the composer for Lords of Shadow realized that when doing the composing for what I think is one of the best CV titles to date.

  • não dá neh pra acredita que esse jogo é de super nintendo.

    olha a qualidade desse som.

    muito bom.

    uma obra prima da konami.

  • 1 person needs their ass kicked. Possibly into the waterfall.

  • I was stoked when in Lords of Shadow I heard 'Waterfalls of Agharta' which reminded me of this classic. This soundtrack is the best of the series and of any game.

  • great comments on this page!

  • I love how the music can bring the emotion out in you.. You can almost feel Simon's current state of emotion when listen to this.. The loneliness, restlessness, hopelessness of going on this journey to kill Dracula....

Even though these games are old and in 2d.. they seem to have more magic than the newer 3d games.. So glad I was a kid in the early 90's to buy and witness games like this.

  • Verily, I too can sound intelligent and insightful by utilizing extravagant verbiage I know not the meaning of, whilst simultaneously delineating my sentences with an overabundance of punctuation marks and unnecessary length. The effect of getting my comment voted up is extraordinarily stupefying.

  • God the vibe of this song.... I still play this game all the time. Sooooo good.

  • Why is it that I find myself drunk, late at night coming to revisit these songs over and over again....? SNES Forever!

  • @DeformedConscience Followed by some Primus vids from 1989.. :>

  • How about when you die? "Oh-a-no-a-no-a-no..." hahahaha XD

  • play the tune from los and this at the same time.. sounds awesome..

  • The remake of this song in Castlevania Lords of Shadow is brilliant. I think it's called Waterfalls of Agharta.

  • @tubernery there is a remake of this in castlevania LOS?!!! Oh my God, I can't fuckin wait

  • Reminded me of Super Metroid

  • @barneybros Exactly same here, it reminds me about the red soil area - Brinstar metroid 3

  • @mercurio320 Yeah Super Metroid exactly

  • This is another favorite of mine from this game. It has a feeling of sorrow and pain, or like Axelfighter15 said, this is like "walk in and find your buddies dead" kind of music.

  • Comment removed

  • definatly the best soundtrack in the series, in fact i remember i'd die on purpose on some levels just so i could keep listening to the music

  • Yes yes when I got to the Agharta I immediately recognized this music. =D

  • this one sounds like the one in lords of shadow, when u enter city of agaharta

  • This song is incredible in "Lords of Shadow," as it is fully orchestral, yet still as sinisterly ambient.

  • @JOEmega64

Where in the game does this appear? (Ive only just bought it)

  • @PeterStoreysbutler I dont' want to be a spoiler, but I don't think I am revealing anything... it's when you get to Agharta. The title of the song on the soundtrack is called "The Waterfalls of Agharta." Now, I don't specifically remember what your environment will be like, but it's definitely after you complete the "labyrinth" portion of Agharta. Pretty sure. You'll recognize the "two-one" piano notes of SCIV's Waterfall music... my ears were peeled for that, so I heard it almost immediately.

  • @JOEmega64

Yes! I have indeed heard it and it appears at the beginning of chapter 3 too. Its an absolutely beautiful piece of music. Top draw game as well, at first wasnt sure but It gets better and better. The similarities between LOS and SCV4's layout; Village then forest then cave etc is plain to see. Great stuff. Hope to hear some more of the old tunes getting a revamp.

  • @PeterStoreysbutler Trust me, it will get better and better more than you ever thought possible. Best game of the year. And yes! I noticed that too about the SCIV layout. And you'll definitely hear at least one more...

  • The heavy drums at the beginning of this track have been replaced with melancholy strings in Lords of Shadow... and it's very impressive.

  • Check the new orchestrall version from Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Waterfalls of Agartha

  • this song basically defines the doom metal genre.

  • this theme is so relaxing i still play super castlevania 4 on my snes from time to time and it's still the best castlevania game to date i can't wait for lords of shadow i heard that this theme is in it which is awesome

  • This theme conjures such doom and dread, yet it also contains a deeply mournful beauty. Absolutely chilling.

  • old times.

  • @Aceclade That is why i think it is the best so far that i've heard, because of how well it fits.

  • Man, together with the Caverns theme this is one of my favourites of all time when the subject is Castlevania!!

  • IMO, this was the first sign that Castlevania was going towards Metroid territory. When I first played this game, this song just reminded me so much of the eerie and loneliness you get from the Metroid series.

And I still can't believe that this game was a launch game. You'd think it would have came around the time when the system was at it's peak but no. hell of a launch title.

  • This is truly sad music, but not in a bad way. :D This game will forever be in my list of all-time favorite games

  • So this is what depression sounds like.... AWESOME!!

  • Video games used to have great music in the 90's.. Now they try to hard to make action packed rock music with most games.. it's kind of annoying!

I love the loneliness and desperation this song brings out. This game will forever be a classic!

  • Castlevania and megaman games have some of the alltime best music themes.

This is better then most of the crap that passes for music these days.

  • @Sojourno Yea. The absolute shittiest video game music comes from Resistance 1 and MW2 .

  • @Sojourno megaman does have some really epic pieces, but it also has alot of rehashed music.

take some of the mm5 music, some of the pieces i didn't even remember them and i beat the game, but mm3 and 2 stand out in my memory the most.

Except maybe the willy stage in mm5 which stands out as well and the willy stage in mm2 which really stands out.

  • holy shityadju, i havent heard this in so long, and i still know what notes are coming right around the corner. brutal

  • Can't wait to listen to the Castlevania Lords of Shadow new arrangement in high quality, crappy youtube recordings sound AWESOME! =D

  • @Ahasverus92 new arrangement of wich tunes? SCIV??!!

  • @infectedkoozer rearrangement of "Waterfall" ,,, you can "listen to" it (however, very barely) in the Clocktower CVLOS "gamelab 2010" video, I don't know how it's called exactly... however, it sounds AWESOME :D --- It's also confirmed a new verison of "Simon's Theme" by the way ;)

  • super track, u can feel simon's pain with this one. cant imagine being someone going on a long journey to defeat a villian of mankind. flawless track. grat upload.

  • Love this. I always took my time on this level to keep the music going a little longer.

  • @CollectiveSin Right? This level was too short for such a good track.

  • A paradoxical tune for me, gushing with serenity as you admire the solemn trickle of the fragile Glaciers encased in the background or become overwhelmed by an immense feeling of solitude as you transverse the precarious edges while frantically keeping a close eye on any bloodsuckers from knocking you into the gaping abyss, brillantly camoflauged into the ominous green haze. Yet the responsibility of thet task ahead flickers back in a blink and you relinquish any ominous thoughts.

  • @Sindrom11 Very poetic!

  • @Shieldpaw

Thank you, pleasure to hear you enjoyed it :)

  • @Sindrom11 Well said man. I myself get more of the solitude/hopeless feeling from it then the latter

  • @Sindrom11 Very well put - i just wish they could bring this game back. Stick to basics...chilling atmosphere - brutal but beautiful - an just port all the songs in CV4 (with some modern twists) and get a studio like Visceral (who made dead space) to take on the project. It would bring hoardes of CV fans back to the franchise.

  • @Sindrom11 ohhh myyy goddd that was the best statement ever!!!!!!!

  • @Sindrom11 That's... pretty deep shit.

  • i miss these games

  • @mauporte

HaHa I got a download of the game on my Wii Sucka! NananananaH!

  • this is a clasic one of my favorites

  • ahh...i remember falling countless times before making it through this part..

  • I died on this level like 20 times, but I didn't rage once because this music mellowed me out. I can't say the same for later in the game though!

  • @Pander8874 Same here. It had such an epic, sad feeling that I couldn't help but feeling stronger because of it ... a theme of pure endurance.

  • @Aceclade true even though i only played this game once its already nostalgic what strikes me about this soundtrack is that it sounds very oldschool rpg like, for example oldschool final fantasy games on the snes, really this is one of the best videogame soundtracks ever

  • This is the only place I can find this particular soundtrack.. Stupid MP3 websites exclude this title.. but keep everything else...

  • best song to the game, and the only castlevania I liked enough to win.

  • Ditto!

  • what's the matter with you? xD.

  • a perfect song to have some sex!

  • lol

  • fuck ya

  • @jaleramos21 I completely agree.

  • Great song to just kick back, enjoy some weed and watch the horizon...

  • seriously i just got back from smoking a bowl and the first thing i wanted to do was listen to this song, stoner minds think alike i suppose :p
