  • is this a 12 0r 24 valve?

  • @MrCardini 12v

  • @1982yota about how much did u spend doing a diesel conversion? do you have any other videos of this truck or of the build?

  • @MrCardini I only have 3 vids of this truck. Actually I didnt spend a dime on the conversion because only worked at the shop it was built at and its not mine lol. But all BS aside a conversion varies in price. Mainly depends on what motor you choose, trans, what kind of upgrades you want, things like that. If you can find a whole donor truck that would be best as you have 90% of the parts. Also depends what vehicle its going into. 1973-87 chevy trucks are without a doubt the easiest

  • @1982yota ok. haha ohh, yeah i've been dabating the 12 or 24v? (any input on that??) yeah i've been looking for a 90's dodge as a doner but i dont have enough money yet for a new pickup. see i have a 72 k20 chevy truck, so im guessing mine would be pretty easy too.

  • @MrCardini if you can find a 94-98.5 12v that would be your best bet as they are the best out of the bunch. You can build more power for less than the 24v or newer engines and they simpler and easier to work on and way more reliable. Price wise 24v engines well probably be about 1k more unless you find a deal. You truck would be a perfect candidate for a 5.9 swap

  • @1982yota alright well thanks, now i know what to look for.. hey do you perhaps know a website that has a list of what you need to do a cummins conversion on an old chevy like mine? i've seen them for fords and some chevys but never a 72 chevy.

  • @MrCardini 4btswaps.com is a good site. Has alot of info and has a 6bt section. Become a member because you cant view pics otherwise.

  • @1982yota thanks

  • how many inches of lift are on this? and how big are the wheels and tires

  • @Hysjulien69 15 total inches of lift. 44" Boggers on 16" wheels.

  • soooooo how can i get one of these?

  • Love the tires on this truck

  • yeeeeah saskatchewan

  • Sorry if i'm asking the same thing someone else did... but what transmission are u running and how do you like it? i am planning on putting a 12 valve in place of a v10 and i want a tranny i wont have problems with

  • @chevyv8HD its a Th400 built by Extreme Automatic. Its spragless, has a billet valve body, high stall converter, trans, etc, etc. Its more for racing and not for the street. I guess tranny choice depends on how much HP your engine has and what you plan to do with your truck IE sled pull, mud bogger, daily driver, etc. Ford and allsion autos are great, although both require custom tuning and controller to work with the truck and engine. dodge trans are good too but have to built up a bit first

  • @chevyv8HD well the plan is probably a moderate lift and 35s, maybe pull a boat or something now and then. i kind of also want a manual but a tough automatic would be fine. working with a small budget here so building one up isn't really an option (lol), which ford ones are any good? and are the allisons out of the newer chevs the only ones i could get ahold of used?

  • @chevyv8HD if you decide to go to manual you will save quiet a bit over an auto. an NV4500 or 5600 would be a great choice. If i recall the 4R110 is pretty good and the 5R110 are good too but take a while to tune properly and work well with the truck. Any allison from a duramax will be fine, the newer the better because as the dmax improved thru the years so did the allison.

  • @1982yota oh ok, well i've heared of the nv4500s being descent. so hopefully i will shoot for that! thanks for the info and again, that's a badass truck in the video lol very nice.

  • @chevyv8HD good luck on the build. Got any more questions feel free to ask.

  • @boss wanted to drive it to the city for a few days, so we made it as street legal as possible to help keep the cops off his back.

  • mud flaps kill it.

  • oh ok.

  • oh.

    extra leafs.

  • @1988diesel nope just new skyjacker leafs front and back.

  • oh.

  • does it have the 1 ton suspension,or the stock 3/4 ton suspension?

  • @1988diesel

    12" 3/4 ton suspension

  • how come it wasnt in the mud fling this year?

  • @1998moto myself and another youtuber (hickerbilly86) built this truck and no longer work at the smoke em diesel. Your guess is as good as mine as to why it was at moose jaw this year.

  • AWESOME

  • Did you have enough room between the grill and firewall without fabbing anything? What about the motor mounts what did you do to them?

  • I like how you ran the exhaust outside of the frame.

  • @Jishory thanks, I did it that way because 4" is tight between the trans, t-case and frame rails. Plus it keeps heat away from trans and it looks badass lol.

  • r u in jersey?

  • @steveandant nope, the great white north.

  • @1982yota

oh okay becasue i see u have the mud flaps n fender flares.. lift laws...

  • @1982 you ever run in to bob and doug mackenzie there? lol just kidding eh!

  • @sconnly86 lame!

  • I Want this truck! You gonna sell it?

  • @marocr3w I would for sure but its not mine. Its my old bosses truck. I just built it.

  • @1982yota What kind of cummins is in it? 5.9?

  • @marocr3w yup 5.9

  • Oh my god, it's soooooo flat out there. I'd get bored as hell.

  • Tires are worth more than the chassis xD

  • ya cant post hp #'s with out a mod list ... what cha running

  • @jdutton100 140hp sticks, big turbo (cant remember what size i think 62mm), fass fuel system, maxed out and gutted P7100, head studs, NOS and meth injection, cant remember all the mods.

  • That is BADASS!!! I've always loved the square body chevy's and its even better with a cummer

  • thats what i need to do with my chevy...i have a 6.2L detroit and my friend and i are planning on swapping our engines out for cummins

  • where did u get those bumpers? and love the cummins in tht. pretty bad ass. i want 1 in my 85 chevy k20.

  • "I just saw the smoke annd i jizzed in my pants"

  • what front bumper is that? road armor or whatever thats called? And what gen cummins is in there?

  • gotta love it

  • just lose the white walls and the gay flares and shes pretty sick

  • you should put it up for sale...

  • Damn!! I just got a chubby watching this video. I love chevy's, but this thing is just fucking sick!!

  • whats the horsepower

  • @a7g1000 somewhere around 600-650HP range. Its never been on a dyno so its a rough guess.

  • Thats what i want my 79 K20 to look like.

  • what brand of lift kit are you using?

  • @1988diesel hmmm not sure, i'll get make to you on that.

  • @1982yota

I like your "LEGAL" height rear bumper! LOL

    Great job by the way!

  • Saw ya guys out at Pilot Butte what a sick unit! Got a YJ myself, come see ya guys when I find a 4BT to dump in er :)

  • @MrSpock7777777 A 4BT Jeep would a interesting project for sure not to mention cool as hell!!

  • Nice ass stacks. I got a single on mine but seeing your video....ya im getting duals. Keep it up

  • Beautiful rig friend. Smart move by going with a cummins. Check mine

  • @PaleHROse Thanks, The original plan was to use a twin turbo 454, but the 5.9 makes more reliable, useable power the gasser so we used it instead.

  • @1982yota pERFECT CHOICE i bet the beast hauls ass cause the truck is light
