Now no-one it seems cares about selling our family silver to "foreigners" anymore. Well all the stuff we haven't already sold or "privatised" to sub our crippling trade deficit.
brilliant, this brings back memories!! maybe this is the advert that got me hooked!I love the classic mini...maybe If bmw made there mini rust quicker, have dodgy speedo's,have wobbly rear view mirrors, and generally leak through the front windscreen id probably like them a bit more.
It was the then chairman of BL Canadian Graham Day who set about this advert.. At the time some folks thought BL didn't make Minis anymore.. This add sent sales through the roof and in some respects set about the creation of the new Mini as a brand..
Yes the salt on the winter roads would have started terminal corrosion. Just try and start them in the morning. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrrrr Wrrrr Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Sorry the BMW Mini's are brilliant. What did we get to replace the Mini the first time round -- A mini in a box the Metro ooh.
Or their sitting in someone's garage waiting to be restored. Or the number plates belonged to other cars & were just used for the adverts? More than likely since that advert got shown during Xmas 1986 & 1987 & where as the advert & the Mini were identical for both years, they changed the registration plates to suit the then current prefix.
I love my Cooper convertibe. I runs and drives like a Tiger. I named it Bull Dog.

I hate the new Mini. It's just another fat, plastic-fantastic BMW, driven by driving instructors and inverted snobs.

Aww such a sweet advert, only us Brits would design and make a car with such charm.

An example of two PROPER Minis, rather than the glass and plastic that BMW chuck out of Cowley nowadays. Mike S.

There is nothing mini about that bmw. it's as big as a ford fiesta! and they aren't smallcars anymore.
i have a mini (proper, classic, actual mini) and it's never failed to start in the morning.

According to the DVLA website, the red Mini went to the great scrapyard in the sky in 2003, and the silver one went in 1993.
