The more I hear this song the more I like it. This is a masterpiece. Wish the music composers were bright enough to realize the greater talent of Suman and had given all of Lata's songs from 1954 (when suman started playback singing) to Suman. They should also have added range to their tunes, which were usually of low to medium range so that Lata could sing them). Indian music would have been much better with Suman.

Suman has sung this song better than Lata could ever. Just note the range at which she starts and stays throughout the melody, the voice is more pleasant than Lata's. If Lata tries to sing at this range, which she won't because she can't, Lata's voice will become shrill. lata herself said that music composers accommodated her by changing the tune. People who call Lata the greatest are falling for the propaganda.
