  • Your definition of redneck is someone who leaves a comment on a youtube video? You, sir, are a generalizing asshole. You've dipped as low as the people you're insulting. Sorry you couldn't take a joke. By the way, this is art. A movie IS art. It's a work of art that I did not find interesting. Sorry you thought that comment was serious. This shouldn't be on youtube unless it had a warning beforehand, because quite frankly a kid should not happen to find this and see a penis.

  • Great movie....just great. Somebody made a comment to the effect that the film is "90 minutes of plot stretched into 3 hours". Perhaps it is. But the other 90 minutes is filled with some of the most beautiful cinematography I've ever seen in any movie. Maybe i am biased because I love the Arctic, but the scenery in this film was totally breathtaking. No amount of Hollywood money or CGI could ever capture the raw, natural beauty, of the Canadian high Arctic. I absolutely love this movie!!!

  • I know the guy thats running :)

  • ice age 2000...

  • @bobtheheadman So nudity is only alright if it gets *you* off? Fuck you, guy.

  • Great Film! watch close and you'll notice there isn't a single piece of metal in the whole story/film

  • great acting

  • He's like the deaf guy off family guy.

  • igloolikmiutak.

  • The actor that portrays Puja is a HOTTIE but Puja is a BITCH!!!!

  • I just learned this (great!) movie is the 1st in a trilogy. Google "Independent Inuit Film" if you want more information. I can't wait to see the other 2 movies. If they are even a fraction as good as the 1st, they should be great films. BTW, These Inuit's really make some good movies. And they make them with minimal budget & resources, & in extremely remote (& harsh) areas. It's a shame more people don't appreciate these types of movies. Not enough CGI/3D i guess? Oh well. I like them!

  • I rented this movie about 7-8yrs ago but totally forgot the name of it. I really wanted to see it again, but all I remember was it had an Inuit name I couldn't remember. I took a chance & googled "2000's Movies about Inuit's", and a site about movies filmed in Nunavut, Canada popped up, & it was listed among others! Anyway, this is an excellent, EXTREMELY "unique" movie. The only movies that come close to being even remotely similar are "Shadow of the Wolf (1992)" & "The Snow Walker (2003)"

  • Before I decide to see the whole movie...2 questions....

    1) Is the soundtrack faithful to Inuit influences? (Did I hear Australian instruments at one point?)

    2) Is that "villain" supposed to be sympathetic? (I would guess so, based on his acting at the end of this scene.)

  • @Ondus2000 For the most part, many of the vocals you hear are actual songs, like the throat chanting, the drumming & singing, & yes you did hear a didgerrydoo...Austrailian...:D

  • I hope they paid that actor well for running in subzero temps with his cock flopping around.

  • BREATHLESS. Atanarjuat's persistence and woman's reaction made me cry like a rainstorm

  • I like this movie,I'm eskimo also. And DAMN it is so cold living life in the arctic

  • AWESOME CHASE SCENE! Maybe even better than the chase scene in the movie Point Break! I'm very happy to see these real native Americans expressing themselves on film about their ancient lifestyle, and with native language to boot :o) although these scenes here are quite savage, like the old days on Chinese central plains and Mongolian grasslands. I shall get me a DVD collection of these excellent Isuma works!

  • this movie was amazing. i saw the whole thing. it's long but once you get into it it's impossible to not see make it to the end. it's one of the best movies i've ever seen. when i first saw it i thought it was a documentary of sorts.

  • wait for the polar bear scene, wasn't scripted "you going out? nah not me, you? no way"

  • 4:28 aaaw poor lilltle kid.

    This real?

  • kiss his ass good bye

  • Lol "true legend", that's funny.

  • ... wow... he's... nude...

  • One of the best movies ever made.

  • This is a story taken from true legend.

  • i saw this movie at blockbuster and rented it, it looked interesting, then i thought the camera quality was terrible and the acting was god awful,,but when its all done u think about the actual story behing the terrible camera and acting, and the story is amazing,i think it would be PERFECT if maybe they would remake it ,,,the story is wonderful,2 thumbs up

  • What's the back story? Why is the naked man being pursued so he can be killed?

  • well i dont wanna giv much away but in a nutshell Atanarjuat marries 2 girls, one was a girl that the leader of the 3 chasers wanted to marry and the second girl was the leaders sister,he accepted it but after an arguement beteween the sister and Atanarjuat the sister then cried to her brother sayin he treats me bad,so they went to kill him and killed his brother accidently and then they chase him,,but then the sis cries cuz her and Atanarjuat made up but it was too late,

  • I guess if you're running for your life, you'll run as long as it takes to save it rather than until you're tired..

  • poor guy, freezing his nuts off.

  • its amazing, isnt it?

the movie, the way they lived back then...this is going to be an important movie for future generations.

  • Fantastic! I saw this movie a few years ago right before I went to Iglulik for work.
