  • Guitar > Bottle Opener

  • Fuck Pepsi, all hail to Vinnie Moore !

  • lol no adverts like that anymore

  • The drummer is David Sherrill!

  • Awesome.Reminds me of Marty Mycfly playin guitar in the movies.:D

  • Sounds like Martin Sheen.

  • I just use a bottle opener.

  • The only reason the bottles of Pepsi opened was because the soda was trying to get the hell out of the room like the cat did. Anyone that plays like that should have their ass removed.

  • The sexual allusions in this commercial are great, LOL

  • AWESOME vinman!!!!

  • " New generation " XD

  • VANILLA COKE FTW!!!!

  • why don't they have soda in bottles anymore, it used to be so cool not it's just plastic.

  • good ole vinnie moore on fire

  • cheesy or not, it's still a better commercial than the one's today

  • new generation? Not no more.

  • Coke!

  • Am i the only one who noticed Elaine from Seinfeld in there?

  • its not elaine

  • I used to open up bottles this way when my finger nails were to short, twisting them off hurt...so I just grabbed an amp and guitar.

  • hahahah

  • how can i download this video?

  • THEY BOTH TASTE THE SAME

  • Put both in front of me in unmarked cups and I'll tell you which is which 10/10 times.

  • evidence of a time when heavy metal ruled the world!"!!! thnx for nothing extreemist thrash and death metal bands!

  • Why did they change the Pepsi logo in the 1990s? it still looks shit, they should bring back this logo

  • Damn, that's how they made their soda spray in the 80's? Now we need to use Mentos to get the same effect.

  • the girl at 0:10 looks pretty

  • Pubblicità del genere non ne fanno più...

  • vinnies only showed for like 2 secs....wtf...

  • That's Vinnie Moore's playing?....the guy looks like the guitar player from Honeymoon Suite Derry Grehan :)

  • That's Vinnie Moore that's playing but it is overdubbed for the film so that's not Vinnie more that you see there.

  • It is the guy from Honeymoon suite. Apparently the producers of this commercial thought his guitar playing was good, but 'HE WASN"T PRETTY ENOUGH FOR US TO ACT IN THE COMMERCIAL.'

  • The lamest thing about the entire thing is if you watch the guitarist hands in this commercial he's playing asending sixtuplets up the scale, and Vinnie is playing desending sextuplets up the scale.

  • ......T-ttabs p-ppplease?....

    Lol

  • I just got it by ear, I can do a video lesson, its not too hard.

  • Cant beat vinnie=)

  • cool!

  • Its Michael Bolton!!! wait... no its not...

  • long live pepsi cola

  • VINNIE

  • Excuse me, I would like to invite you "guitar-lovers" to view my videos and listen to the songs, many people said they're amazing! I hope you love too!

  • They should have just featured Vinnie Moore all the way. His hands and his sound were there - the rest of him should have been there, too. I would have bought more Pepsi :o)

  • They shouldve shot 3 commercials of this, one with Vinne, Yngwie and then Tony MacAlpine. The Holy Trinity of Shred. Now that wouldve sold some Pepsi!

  • paul gilbert, maybe??

  • This clip actually came from a UK PAL tape, since the ad was shot in film rather than video.

  • haha, new generation? They were in the 80's,and here we are in 2009

  • todo lo de antes era mejor xD

  • WOA!!!!!!!!!!! that was a fucking coll commercial man!!!!! I loved the 80s for being rock and metal!

    (cheesy)??? no way man

  • God that was such a cool commercial!!!I know it's cheesy but it works.

Another proof that the 80s totally rocked... Wish I had been around back then...

  • Cheesy or not, I think this commercial made me want to be a guitarist over 25 years ago. Now I am an professional musician, earning my living from making music. Thanks Pepsi! Thanks Vinnie Moore! Thanks Arlen Roth!

  • @jjuup Vinnie Moore is the man.

  • This video Rules!!! Pepsi and Heavy Metal Ruled the world in the 1980s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its not cheesy if you think so you were a total nerd in the 80s

  • @MetalGod2011 But now those nerds are billionaires.

  • @jjuup Arlen Roth was the one who created Hot Licks?

  • @rallyivan1234 Yes, I have 4x6 60min tapes of the Hot Licks series tapes and I met Arlen Roth the same day I had a clinic with Vinnie Moore. Vinnie Swept Arpeggios, but Arlen swept Vinnie with his killer blues-touch. :D I think this was in 1987, not sure, it's way back...

  • Great sound of pickups of Vinnie Moore!! Dimarzio Double whammy DP150!!!!

  • If only my guitar could do that.

  • lol you can tell the guy playing guitar had no idea what he was doing. they should have just shown vinnie, that guy looks like a fag anyway.

  • actually it's an edited version of the spot, if you look at the full version the movements fit better than in this one...

  • Fantástico... muito bom!

  • lol this was great

  • _lol..why you fuckin talk about pepsi?!that's a vinnie moore's hymn..mitico!!

  • Kewl.

  • that girl is like OMG whes playing guitar

  • I saw this when the 1985 live aid was on free tv..That is a great player named Vinnie Moore!!

  • amazing tone and and killer licks vinnie, yngwie and vaughan 3 best guitarist....

  • Whats 'cheesy' about this commercial?

  • I love 80's!! great playing Vinnie..

  • that was awesome,killer guitar sound....bravo Vinnie :)

  • back when the sugars were probably only 12 milligrams versus the 41 nowadays

  • Gotta love the 80's.

  • I can recall a (Pepsi?) ad in which a guy bets he can eat everything on the diner menu. But the last thing he has to consume is a regular soda and not the brand he drinks. He says ''the bet's off. I don't drink any other cola''. Did I dream that? I'd love to see it again so I know I didn't. Any ideas???

  • i think i saw that too

    u werent dreaming

  • Dam i just tried this!!!! And it Works AWESOME!

  • I love pepsi.

  • haha good stuff I wish my pepsi could do that!

  • Vinnie Moore!!

  • G-R-E-A-T

  • yeah vinne moore!

  • That new generation let us all down... Lazy, apathetic youth... with their constant despondency... and... I've run out of insults...

    Go, Gen X!

  • what's the age of the new generation and gen x? how old is each now? i've always wondered where it started and stopped...

  • It's really vague. I think you belong to whichever generation is prevalent upon reaching adulthood. When I was in highschool, they were calling us Gen Y'ers, but then 9-11 happened, which supposedly changed us all inside. Now we're Generation 9-11. Hooray.

  • dude you guys are all stupid

the guy is derry grehan from honeymoon suite

    he was my guitar teacher

  • dylan134 - sorry to do this to you in front of everyone, but I'm going to call BS on this (not the lessons - the player).

Since I can't post a link here, go to vinniemoore dot com, click on the Vinnie Moore logo, then in the upper right hand corner of the page click "music". The last little icon at the bottom of that page is a Pepsi graphic. Click that and Vinnie tells you about the commercial).

  • the 80's knows how to make everything even pepsi

  • is that vinnie moore?

  • No, only his hands appear in the very beginning. He told me personally.

  • Really, that kinda large!

  • Sure is Vinnie Moore! He played the whole thing at a clinic he did at the East Coast Music Mall (huge music store in Danbury CT). It's not Derry. They only used him for the image. Vinnie actually joked about "being to ugly" for the part. Great player.

  • Why youtube is not listing each "reply" under the original posts...I have no idea. These were meant to be responses - not listed here one after the other. Sorry for the stack of posts ppl.

  • that looks gross

  • Yeah todays "musicians" are lazy slobs it'd take them 50 years to do a guitar solo like that.

  • I actually had an orgasm when the pepsis exploded

  • THis is actually Derry Green from Honeymoon Suite. The commercial was made in 1986 exclusively for Much Music and ther show the power hour. Derry is the one in the commercial.

  • Vinnie Moore pwns!!!

  • how incredibly annoying and that guy looks like Michael Bolton, lol

  • Too bad they got an actor to play Vinnie Moore's part.

  • Vinnie Moore shreds!!!

  • At least VM's hands are there. That dude doesn't even come close when it comes to air guitar. THEY SHOULD HAVE USED THE REAL MACOY! Where is that 'actor' today???

VM is about to release his 2nd UFO cd AND his new solo CD. SHRED 4_EVER!!!!

  • lol sweet.

  • "00:10 into it, is that Julia Louis Dreyfus????"

Damn sure looks like it. Think she'd own up to saying she was in this though?

  • damn, that's 80's. Good stuff.

  • 00:10 into it, is that Julia Louis Dreyfus????

  • could be

  • I think it is

  • I did that once lol

  • I don't believe him.

The best part is definitely the fact that Martin Sheen is narrating.

  • dude, all the pepsis are flat now!!

  • This was played by Vinnie Moore - an incredible player who should have got more attention than Yngwie. Check out his "Mind's Eye", "Time Odyssey" and "Meltdown" albums. www.vinniemoore.com

  • it was not it was Derry Green from Honeymoon Suite.

the commercial was made in 1986 in Toronto exclusively for Much Music for there Power Hour show and it is Derry in the commercial.

  • i love this!! hell yea! i wonder who actually did guitar for that..
