  • dat ass

  • So she just ran a 10.49... Smashed the world record by .3 seconds and doesn't seem to be surprised???

  • most white folks feel the need to dope to compete. Can it just be that florence griffith- joyner was a negro women, negro people are more athletic than any other race.

  • A white folks... stop talkin about the dope... there are plenty of white Olympians that doped so shutup

  • no era el viento era la manode eteroides q tomaban , ninguna mujer ha podido hacer esa marca despues de ella, it wasn`t the wind!, was a big steroids hand, no one cuould runn of this way

  • Even if she was doped she still didn't run 10.49. These times are so manufactured and manipulated. If she was doped her body looks natural and refined. No where near the masculine cuts you see today. Those must have been some weak steroids.

  • Damn Flo is good... She didn't try hard to beat them.

  • @1031Fannie Its never been proven and her records still stands. Even doped up Marion Jones couldn't bee those records RIP FLOJO..

  • She doesn't look like being on steroids at all.

Very little upper bod muscle mass and not the "cut" defined look either.

She would be the smallest in the whole lineup today even at lower levels.

Not that these things should be seen as proof of anything, but she could just as well really be the best female sprinter of all time by a big margin.

Still, isn't this the race where the cirucuimstances are questioned?

I mean, the wind measurements, timing of the start to the perfect wind and so on.

  • @MrModulator The mass would be present in which muscles she worked. Her lower body is very defined cause, I mean she has a really nice butt.

  • look at her stride!! and her knee lift!! enuff said.

  • flo jo was hot . r.i.p.

  • Shut the fuck up about people taking drugs. Athletes at this level take whatever advantage they can. It's easy for fat, lazy idiots to sit at home and put down athletes they see on t.v. and the internet, but when it's your livelihood and the careers of all the trainers and sponsors at stake you're gonna try to be the best no matter what. Every athlete at this level will take whatever advantage they can get- growth hormone, steroids, amphetamines etc. They all run the risk of getting caugt.

  • cuanta droga tenia esa mujer en su cabeza

  • what a bunch of bullshit talk somebody ...baby crying lewis had a record down couse he did positive and always press + sponsor cover him up...but here there are a lot of armchair experts....and just for the smart ones, do you think a regular guy whitout suplements will stand training like 5 hr per day??? look pictures of every one befor "get seris" on sport and after...

  • Lo que hacen los esteroides,,, señor Carl Lewis tampoco estaba tan limpio. Las marcas de 400 metros para damas son un completo laboratorio.

  • Interesting that on the same year Ben Johnson was caught during the Olympic Games in Seoul... maybe some new drug was going on?

  • I certainly remember that missing pant leg running outfit!

  • lol anyone who runs thatt time would be going apeshit at the end, she was hardly excited, lol

  • Silke Gladisch

  • juiced up

  • Stop hatin on Flo Jo aka best 100m runner ever . Damn the woman is dead cant yall respect her memory? SMH

  • The most under-whelming commentary ever

  • I love Flo-Jo but her results were always suspected, although never proven, to be tainted by steriod or other drug use.

  • This time was wind assisted, the world record is 10.61 in Seul with regular wind.

  • THIS probably isn't even the quickest time anyway. Just watch Silke Gladisch on the opening leg of the current 4 x 100 m relay WR. Her 100 is (probably) quicker and she was running around a bend.

  • WR are ALL meaningless to begin with. As from generation to generation they don't even race on the same surface, not even mentioning footwear. I'd bet if you put Bolt on the same Berlin track and with the same shoes as Owens from 1936, there would probably be very little in it at the end. I'd even be willing to bet that Bolt would lose, as the more slippery surface wouldn't suit his massive frame at all.

  • @HotChixAndMusic shut up !!!! you make no sense!!

  • @HotChixAndMusic you are sooooo sadly wrong...bolt would still win especially considering that 100 meters is longer than 100 yards now if you were to give owens all of the benefits we have today and had them race in 2012 it would be a good race

  • @HotChixAndMusic I don't think Bolt would go from running a 9.5 to a 10.2 on Berlins surface. I've ran on a aspahualt surface in highschool with spikeless shoes and my times were only about .2 seconds slower than when I ran on a brand new rubber track. And that track was alot worse to run on than the Berlin track Owens ran on. I gaurantee Bolt could still run a 9.7 on that on that track, theres absolutely no way Owens beats Bolt unless less Bolt trips and falls on his face LOL.

  • @DDeCouto

Now Bolt is not so fast. More strict controls and a new way to detect human growth hormone....

  • @ondaverdeblu He times have taken a hit because he had a long layoff. Trust me, he'll be back to running 9.7's in no time.

  • Flo Jo would have been great.Had she a long record of superb runs.Unfortunately she had only one season that was so stupendous that is 1988.After that nothing.I am not saying that she used PED's but considering that she retired just when drug testing started to become much more stringent-I'm suspicious to say the least.

  • @crackergurl22, I agree, "Flo Jo was and still is the best" cheater as regards time. However she is also the worst/dumbest because she paid for it with her life. No 10.49 or her 200m record is worth THAT.

  • every record has gone but this one still stands i cant say she doped but it looks like she has been

  • if you look closely at 1:36 one of her bollocks pops out

  • Flo Jo had a great sense of style. The single leg suit was awesome.

  • FLo jo Fata she set this record was approached to be tested and she denied the request and retired, then her untimely death

  • good god,its diana ross meets wonder woman ! flojo was born to run.Sure, she was probably doped up to the eyeballs, but shes an example of a naturally gifted super quick sprinter, who took drugs at the end of her career, with mind blowing results.

  • Many in track and field suspected her of using drugs and if you saw the transformation her body underwent to where she started looking like the incredible hulk, you will see why.

  • That was the day when my parents married (16.07.1988)

  • i was there in indy watching...extremely hot that day...when 10.49 was displayed wethought the heat had messed up the electronic timer...too fast to believe...still the record...

  • Cheat!

  • (cont)

    2) It makes the scandal of Lewis vs Johnson even more unsavoury - both doped, one got caught and hounded out of the sport. We'll never know the whole truth, but I discount anything the "legend" Carl Lewis did in athletics. The 1988 race as a whole is tarnished.

    3) How could anyone fancy Flo-Jo? You'd have to be into some serious specialist interests to find her attractive. To me, she looks like a young boy with long nails and hair with a bit of lipstick on.

    RIP Flo-Jo. Very sad.

  • I've been scooting around the Youtube sprinting videos today, and the only women who look more masculine than Flo-Jo are the various East German "women" of the 70s/80s. A couple things:

    1) She was obviously doping. I'll point you to pictures before 1987 and after 1988 of her physique. I don't blame her, I blame the American authorities who were desperate to win in the first USA vs Eastern Block Olympics in 12 years. She was duped, and paid the ultimate price - an early death.

  • the enthusiasm of the comentator is just electrifying...

  • The man who won this race was very good.

  • What about that outfit!! Mmmmm.......mmmmmm!!!

    Flo Jo forever!!

  • I respect flo-Jo as a runner, myself, she set goals for me, also she kept her feminine look as she ran. Weather she was on drugs or not doesn't matter to me. The records were set, no trace was found, let her r.i.p. You all are ridiculous. If you want the records erased then BEAT THEM...

  • This is one of the most obvious abuses of hormones in sprinting history. It's sad how naive and clueless people are outside the bodybuilding community about these drugs. With hormones, you can do anything... gain 10lbs of muscle in a month, look like a man, run 10% faster than before...

  • Guy who posted below me is an idiot! Of course she was on drugs dipstick!!!

  • DRUG ADDICT!!

  • lol 10.79 to 10.49 ... and she is almost happy! Doping doping doping !!

  • Anabolic nothing else cheater

  • these records must be eliminated from charts,

    its a disgrace

  • Flo Jo- On JUICE!!! didn't get caught... Marion Jones Ben Johnson got caught.

  • Will any woman even come close to this record, it's nearly 25 years old.

  • @matrixyoda she was on drugs

  • She was not on drugs. No, her record will never be beaten. She had a special gift. People who are on steroids still can NOT beat her record, lol. HATERS!

  • It would be a lot easier to assasinate her and blame drugs, than to run 10.49 seconds. Talentless COWARDS!

  • The comments about this deceased woman are sickening. KARMA will get you all. Flo Jo was blessed. Decades later, her record STILL can NOT be beaten. I really doubt she was on steroids.

  • @truthfulexposure I agree with you totally. Especially about the Karma. 10.49 is obviously just an amazing time for womens 100 metres.

  • A lot of jealous people could have been as dangerous to her life as the "alleged" drugs she took or did not take. I think that the former was more likely the cause of her death to create the "illusion" of the latter. THEORY

  • You are all jelous because she was strong ... She is simply the best and there were NO dope because any analysis results ....

  • @melixa88

All right!Nothing was found.Florence was innocent.May God bless her soul!

  • dope...does a body good, till your middle aged and then you fucking DIE!!

  • Michael Phelps must have been doped up too? How can anyone one win 8 gold medals in one olympic?

  • this record should not stand cuz she was dope up

  • @ICU24Now Never proven let her rest in peace!!

  • @ICU24Now prove it!

  • @ICU24Now - None of ANY world records should stand because of doping. Javelin and Pole Vault being exceptions perhaps. But every track record is, or does someone seriously believe Usain Bolt is clean? We simply need to forget about all that if we ever want to enjoy any records again.

  • @ICU24Now and how many of today's 100m finalists do you think are NOT?

  • @ICU24Now Prove it or shut it up! lol

  • @leeantony there is nothing to be proved, it's obvious!

  • @NikosAndrianos but sadly, it has to be more than "obvious" before anything is done.

  • @leeantony its a well known fact she was doping lol. idiots these days

  • @guyzmatt21 It is a well know opinion. Opinions are not facts.

  • @ICU24Now Thats what many believe but sorry to say she was never proven to have taken any drugs, but to be honest many was using and never got caught but no matter what there was no proof she was using.

  • @ICU24Now So I guess everyone who has set a world record at something is a dope up?? -_-

  • @ICU24Now The 10.61 that she ran in the final to beat such luminaries as Evelyn Ashford & Gwen Torrence, both 2nd & 3rd respectively @ 10.81 & 10.91, ought to be the official WR. This 10.49 was wind-assisted, in my opinion. Nobody will ever be able to prove if Flojo was ever on steroids. No test ever busted her. Conventional wisdom says perhaps. However, conjecture does not an argument make. Therefore, let the "doped up" allegations die. The world has more pressing issues.

  • THe WIND GAUGE ready 0m per sec. I see plenty evidence of windy conditions in the stadium- the starters flag is blowing, the number on the back of the runners in the block is lifting up and flo-jo hair is blowing in the wind as she walks back after finishing the race. This race is a FARCE

  • That record is such bollocks, firstly how can you beat the record by that much and it was so obvious she was on steroids because of change in physique and her pbs that season

  • theres a reason shes dead!

  • she had ass too damn

  • She was sexxy man. RIP..

  • That was not a record, not only was she a cheater but the wind was recorded at zero mls. per sec. The wind was so strong that it was lifting the numbers on the back of the runners jersey just before the start of the race. LOOK AND SEE!!!

  • @bgee4 u are so right

  • She passed away due to epilepsy and a brain condition if you can read. The autopsy cleared her of drug use. You people are just plain stupid. But this is America, what else is new?

  • She was a cheater no matter how much you all want to deny it.

  • Wow, it was so easy, really like a jog in the park.

  • i can't believe all these haters! she was the best that's it you can't change it and talking shit about her won't make you great!

  • cheat biggest ever

  • RIP Dear FloJo, you were so inspiring.

  • @philosoma9 its called running thru the line.

  • What on Earth is she wearing???!

  • so doped that she had to stop her legs at the 120m line

  • Carmelita Jeter is the (true) world's fastest woman :-)

  • Flo jo was and still is the BEST

  • @crackergurl22 She's dead and drugs is the reason why.

  • why do folks leave it down to drugs...get outta here! she might have been just an amazing runner. it does happen people lol. fuck sake

  • @kvocalist she was an amazing runner, she suffered grand mal seizures, that's the only "drugs" she took...

  • @ADUBgurl5 wow thanx for clearing that up...so she was prone to seizures or did she just pass away due to one?

  • @kvocalist yea she had one in her sleep she ended up face down on her pillow and she died from suffecation

  • @kvocalist She passed away due to drug abuse. Stop making stupid excuses. A cheater is a cheater and she got what she deserved.

  • @Midnightrambler3760 lolllllll how do you that????? tell me

  • @Midnightrambler3760 lolllllll how do you know that???? tell me

  • @kvocalist It is so obvious, open your eyes.

She blows a record away and a few years later dead as a door nail. You do the math.

In those days they used steroids completely irresponsibly. They know so much more about them nowadays. She took enough steroids to kill a horse and in the end she dropped dead.

How many people who are not cheating are robbed of medals and endorsement deals?

    She got what she deserved.

  • how do women pull panties out they ass all day and continue to touch others? LOL

  • And don't forget that MANLY JAW....damn. She was sportin a 3 o'clock shadow too. S T E R O I D S!!!! Then she dies young???? Hmmmmmmm........yeah. Cheaters never win.

  • She is kinda hot and she has a great ass, but when it comes to the race she is definately on drugs. Marion Jones who was talented and on the roids wasnt even close to Flo Jo records, and women with modern facilities, training grounds, food diet programs and more developed stuff arent even close. Lots of roids were used during the 80:s and Flo was for 100% one of them. I still tap that ass tho, even if she was a cheater, she´s a sexy cheater;)

  • shes my hero i respect that woman

  • Comment removed

  • That's disrespectful man

  • the most obvious world record that isnt a world record for so many reasons.

  • dirty fukin cheat..remember it very well. rest in peace you drug head

  • drugs

  • simply....the best!

  • @pio2u2 simple... the drugs!

  • Anybody who has anything to say about drugs...either you break it or shut up cause as long as their is money to be made off the abuse of athletes, they will always be cheating in sports. GTFO my face.

  • I hope one day, women will get under the 10s limit

  • @raoulhery they will never in a million years reach 10 seconds even if drugs were legal. We are very close now to what humans are capable of,look how much records have slowed down over the decades. If genetic engineering was legalised then possibly things would be different

  • God, when will somebody break this record?

  • Usen drogas ustedes y hagan lo que ella hizo.

  • First i'm like damn look at that lead.

Now i'm like DAMN look at the ass.

  • (((HEY blkhauck))) --- And don't forget that MANLY JAW....damn. She was sportin a 3 o'clock shadow too. REEEAL SEXY....(HAHAHA)

    S T E R O I D S!!!! Then she dies young???? Hmmmmmmm........yeah. Cheaters never win.

  • Doped all the way down to her balls.

  • The IAAF and IOC overlooked certain Western athletes (meaning attractive young American females) who were obviously juiced because of the rampant use of PEH's and masking agents by Eastern bloc athletes, especially masculine-looking females (witness Kratochvilova, Koch, etc.). Believe it or not this was a strategy intended to discourage drug use by Eastern bloc sponsored athletes by leveling the playing field. I shit you not!

  • @Karmartia I second that !

  • @Karmartia I've heard a ton of different theories about drug use from the 80's. For instance, I've heard FloJo was told to not do anything spectacular in the Olympic 4x4 and to retire in 89 in order for her not to be ratted on for drug use. I don't know where I heard this, so I can't go around repeating it as fact. What proof do you have of the IAAF and IOC overlooking certain athletes?

  • she picked her wedgie like a guy, she was cool!

  • she was hot

  • Flo smoked all them bitches

  • Flo smoked all them bitches

  • super fine ass.

  • i love florence grittith joyner shes one of my favourite athletes ;) yeaah flo - jo !

  • 10.49 yeah right she was a drug colt

  • Remember the world long jump record stood for 30 years. Every so often a stand out emerges. And Flo Jo Times changed over a 3 year period after she started working with Al Joiner. Who had worded with several Female stand outs during that time. Including his sister.

  • @phantomopp FloJo wasn't trained by Al. Her coach until after these trials, was Bobby Kersee. No one can attribute FloJo's remarkable performances in 88 to Al. I doubt he knew enough to get a female athlete to run the type of times flojo ran.

  • @CHEETAH69 you are so right....it had to be drugs. She stated that she consulted Ben Johnson after he broke the world record in '87. Im sure he told her.."The only way to be number 1 is to take steroids."

  • @atlfine Well then somewhere in his explanation, he clearly told FloJo how to get away with it and forgot himself.

  • @CHEETAH69 lol, she was just lucky and he wasnt

  • @atlfine to be honest, though I am a HUGE fan of flojo, I actually heard that she WAS caught. I was told that she was instructed to NOT do anything "extraordinary" in the 4x400 and then was to retire the following year. I remember seeing that relay and thinking "Why is she jogging?" When I heard this rumor years later, it seemed to make sense. She ran 21.3 for goodness sake! Surely she could have run a 47.4 in the 400.

I have no proof of this, of course. But it does make one think.

  • @CHEETAH69 I also heard that she was caught, but she supposedly promised to retire after the olympics if she was not found out. Have you seen the TRUE TO ME videos by Diane Williams on youtube?

  • grow balls?

  • holy juice batman!

  • Slag!!

  • she was so doped that if you ran behind her and breathe her wake, you could ran under 10 seconds if you're a guy and under 11 if you're a girl.

  • @turboreattore it has never been proved thats she was dopped so stop telling shit! respect her memory!

  • @turboreattore : SO WHAT? WHAT ABOUT KRATCHOVILOVA & MARITA KOCH?

  • @Standardfrank nothing to say, they were doped like horses too, but everybody in the world knows that were doped, very few persons say the obvious thing miss Griffith was doped too. By the waymiss koch and miss kratochvilova are still alive, miss griffith is dead at the age of 39, probably she exagerated a little with drugs, don't you think?

  • @turboreattore : miss griffith is dead at the age of 39, probably she exagerated a little with drugs, don't you think? = THE CAUSE Of Flo-Jo's Death Is Based On TRAUMATIC-ENERGY-LOSS...That Is How Death Is CAUSED With Pathogens Eating & Consuming The RED-BLOOD-CELLS From The Deceased From The Inside Out! Whether She Was Steroid-Infected Or Not...She Was UNHEALTHY & Highly Acidic!

As For The DRUG-TESTING-AUTHORITIES=COMPLETE-BASTARDS! For They Never Reveal The Real Findings Of Testing!

  • @Standardfrank hey man if you wanna believe a girl can go from 11.10 to 10.49 in two season without drugs, you can do it,it's a free country. Probably you know that since 1988 no girls in the world ran the 100m under 10.64 despite techonlogical improvements in shoes, track and training. I repeat if you wanna believe in flying donkeys, you're free to do it.

  • @turboreattore : I repeat if you wanna believe in flying donkeys, you're free to do it = ~i-AM Not In The BE-LIE-F(theft)/-Business Believing/Be-LEAVING Facts Off The Table That You Don't Have Other Than You Are CLAIMING With Your FEELINGS She Was A Steroid-Abuser Because Other Women Did Not Hit 10.49!

By Your LOGIC...Usain Bolt Must Be Full Of It! Again, The TESTING-AUTHORITIES ARE BASTARDS!

Do You Know What You Can Find Out Using A DARK-FIELD-MICROSCOPE 4-a BLOOD-TEST?

    Flying-Donkies?

  • @Standardfrank exactly, to me not only Bolt, but also a number of athlete are doped. Let's think about Marion Jones, we knew that she was doped 5 or 6 year later. Let's talk about Carl Lewis, time ago a guy who worked in the US track and field medical staff said that in the 80's Lewis was found positive in a number of controls by the american federation. Then he disappeared. Another bright example is the female long jump, in the 80's with 6.90m you were out of the podium, now you win easily

  • @turboreattore : THEORY!

  • @turboreattore :

~1. Drugs DOES Not INCREASE Intelligence For Running Faster.

~2. Steroids Does INDUCE CONCENTRATION That Motivates Hard-Training.

If So, You Would Achieve Synchronisation, Balance & Leverage With Symmetry Of Movement Through An Injection! Try It On Yourself, Then Post The Results For The Witnessing!

  • Flo Jo still got ya'll butt hurt lmao.

  • This is an example of why nearly every womens WR should be scrapped and started over again. The 100m and 200m records make a mockery of Athletics. The 400m and 800m records are probably worse however.

  • Cut and Paste from wikipedia....Well at least you do your reserch.

  • after all,,,thanou with personal best 10.83...was a big dopping issue????

  • @mickman7768 if you was any smarter you would know drugs don't help you run faster.. only fuck you up it's clearly that in the video she looks well, you can't break records high off drugs, you can't focus, she can't help how fast she is, Marion jones is another story she did cheat with steriods, Flo jo didn't.... so get it right

  • @mickman7768 oh please. it was bad that she did that but you know there were other cheaters not from america.

  • @mickman7768 jelaous ,why you hate so much ?

  • @mickman7768 fukk you man...

  • @mickman7768 thats right only Americans are drug cheats.. Open your eyes and broaden ur focus AMERICANS are not the only people who have ever cheated using drugs in T&F.

  • @mickman7768 and seeing that ur a Brit u cant even talk so many British athletes have been caught most.. Dwain chambers and a once world record holder in the 100 Linford Cristie. Look at your own country b4 u start pointing fingers
