The 9th ward was terrible before a hurricane ever came close. The only thing Katrina did was tear a lot of them apart more and make celebrities notice and find something to attach their name to.
I lost my home following Hurricane Katrina and am trying to rebuild. Thanks for coming to New Orleans, taking videos and posting. Most of all thank you for your concern/assistance in helping New Orleans rebuild. Many older/infirmed people would be lost without the assistance of volunteers to help gut their houses.
Looks like you might be on Robertson or where it turns in to Claiborne. I know I'm going to sound like an a-hole here... but what a lot of people don't understand is 9th ward was gutted, run down, 3rd world country before the flood. I see all the time on the news some celeb will be standing in front of a building saying "this is so horrible" and... I know that building, and it looks the same.
Entertained? Try disheartened by the enormous quantity of work that remains to be done, and regret that I am only one person with a limited amount of time to help with it.
One thing I have failed to mention is that the reason I was there taking videos to share with other people is that I was working with Common Ground, gutting houses. I'm sorry if this gives you the wrong impression.
Perfect example of why most people shouldn't pretend to be filmographers. Whats that irritating noise throughout the
video ?!?!?

I appreciate you're concern for the great city of New Orleans, but that ain't lakeview. You're on the wrong side of town.

Haha, sorry. I couldn't really remember where it was we were except for it was near the lake. Thanks for pointing that out!
