  • one of the best movements. this went surprisingly quickly though, im much used to this being at a slower tempo

  • Stunningly beautiful!

  • I'm singing Requiem with my chior this Friday. I don't have any solos though =(! As calarch78 mentioned acoustics, my chior performed Requiem in Belgium at the Antwerp Cathederal. A 5 second echo, just under St. Pauls =O!

  • We just did one in Adelaide's St. Peters church. Quite slower than this, great tempo for the wet acoustic of that church. Us tenors and basses were belting out our Hosanna like mad, it sounded really glorious =P

  • Wow... I swear you can see the conductor's underpants @ 1:46... lol... and I agree the tempo is a bit lively for such a wet acoustic.

  • Beautiful acoustical sound, but the tempo is a bit too fast for much for my taste. This is a beautiful section of the requiem and the strings are already playing double-time compared to the choral melody and this tempo rushes the phrasing. Doesn't give the listener a chance to really soak in the phrasing, Which is lovely by the way.

  • Beautifully sung with excellent tempo.

Church acoustics add to the overall beautiful effect of this lovely piece from Faure.

    Thanks for this post!

  • Marvelous acoustics in that church, the reverberation sounds terrific!
