It's possible that their builders left here and left a clue on Mars on the way out, leaving it for us to find later on. I honestly don't know. I know that independant sources in Japan substantiated it throughout the late 90's. There are obvious artificial structures on Mars, and Richard Hoagland presents a very interesting picture in "dark mission". I recommend you read it and then decide the possibility of a government like the US sharing any information with the public

The pyramids were built with internal passageways. It's proven that they did it normally. Perhaps an even greater mystery is the structure in Ireland, Knowth. It's older than the pyramids, and more complex. It's not as big, but just as awe inspiring.

The thing is, when you look at the star systems, you can't see passed the outerflash of the heliosphere. It's not impossible that a lot of those stars are actually solar systems, but we can't see inside them because the light is too bright. Space travel over long distances is not impossible, it depends how the universe works. Impossible is a stupid word.
