  • Mario Lanza's soaringly beautiful, crystal clear interpretive singing makes "Deep In My Heart, Dear" forever enshrined in the rose of our collective hearts. His is a talent only given to us once for all eternity. Just listen to his solo version posted by stoltapaura, as well as his duet version with Elizabeth Doubleday, also posted by stoltapaura, if you disbelieve me.

  • Edmund Purdom WAS the perfect lead for The Student Prince. Never mind that I am a Fast and furious Mario Lanza fan! Purdom was soooo handsome, and his acting and lip-syncing were fantastic. I won't be among those who cry for what "might have been." But, thank you Mario for the beautiful music! I know the Edmund Purdom did a few big screen epics, but spent most of his mature years in Italy. He died in 2009, in his 80's, and still a handsome man!

  • @catlec39 I agree! I LOVE Mario Lanza and this movie soundtrack provides him with some of the best things he ever recorded. However, Edmund Purdom is the BEST leading man to play Prince Karl! Fantastic! I don't think Mario could have played the role as well. This is a fantastic film! It can't get much better than Ann Blyth as the leading lady. :o)

  • Two great looking movie stars. I love them both. They were perfect screen partner. I love Student Prince. I love all the songs in this movie. Edmund Purdom did great lipsyncing. Thanks to Turner Classic for replaying this great musical at least once a year. I miss all the great musical of yesteryears. Thanks for uploading this video.
