While I'm not a fan of the movie, and don't like the books as much as I used to, I can see how it'd be a hole considering it's been with you all your life since you were a kid, its a tradition dying. It's better made than it is, well written but not good writing IMO but 'good' is subjective as you know from music, and being a part of our life makes it good to us.
I really didnt get into harry potter that much. I am 16 now, and I have only seen the first, and second. I liked the first one a lot when I was younger, but I just could never get into it. It just seemed to far fetched for me. But listen to what you said, I sort of regret not watching the rest. It wouldn't be the same watching them now. Like you said, you could relate to the characters because you grew up with them. So if I started watching them now, it just wouldn't be the same.
That doesn't really make any sense. How can you exactly 'lose interest'? You weren't curious in the slightest about where the story would go after the fourth one? I mean, Voldemort came back in that one, dude! That's some serious shit!
And wait a minute, didn't you say "Harry Potter got bad after the 4th one"? And now you're saying you've only seen the TRAILERS of the ones that came out afterward? Uh...you can't judge a movie by the trailer, dude. Well...sometimes, but only if the movie's really terrible lol
@GhostReconGuy I believe that the last one was highly overrated, but it was still a shit load better than all the others, how do you propose that everything after the 4th was bad. I'll agree with you on the 5th one, it definitely sucked, but I thought the next shittiest harry potter was the 4th one.
This comment's really to anyone talking about how "good" the movies actually are: To be honest, it's difficult for me to watch any HP movie from like, a critic's standpoint, because I'm so easily attached to the actual feelings of the characters, and because I'm so enveloped in the ENTIRE story, (rather than just the story of that one movie) at all times. It's much easier for me to be okay with an acting mishap, or an awkward line in the script, cuz I don't watch them that way.
@ANTIanitmetalclub This may be a hard one to answer for you, but do you agree that the last one was slightly over hyped, the the harry potter die hards were making it out as if it was a 10/10, and to be honest it just wasn't. I thought it was great, but it was over hyped to the point of people saying it was practically the best movie ever. I will however agree with you on a good portion of your video, such as the balance between fiction and reality, and being able to connect to the characters.
It may have been a bit over-hyped in terms of how good of a movie it actually was, but like I said before, I don't, actually, CAN'T watch the movies from a critic's standpoint like that. In terms of how neatly it wrapped up the story, and how entertaining it was watching one of my favorite movie trios save the day, it wasn't over-hyped one bit. From a big HP fan standpoint, it was like...the best thing ever.
