We watch this every year as this is a "must-do-item" in the first day of chinese new year, they come to my auntie's and her neighbour's house every year, and they play more dancing if we give them bigger red pocket :D I have watched this already (for my good start of this dragon year)
@lkl00063 oh nah i celebrate chinese new year so i know lol i mean how do u get to be one of those lion dancers??? ive always wanted to be one each year they came to my moms store x)
@DestinySky16 Traditionally in China, to be a lion dancer means practicing kung fu so your best chance is to start taking kung fu and hope that the shifu also practices lion dancning. In america you just ask to join the club or you get invited in.
@DestinySky16 If you're some type of Asian i.e. Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, etc. and you go to a Buddhist temple or some type of martial arts they may have a lion dance team. I'm Vietnamese and I go to a temple and they were asking if any kids wanted to lion dance. So that's how I joined.
This is the only Lion Dance that I've seen that just says "Lion" all over it. Well done... but... the second person in the body didn't seem to do that well... I've been in a lion myself, if you count it was for Story of The Nutcracker ballet in Chinese Tea. o_o
I've been having a hard time distinguishing between Jow Ga and Zhoujia styles, and this one looks like a mix. Which one is which anyway?? I've always thought Jow Ga was bouncier while Zhoujia consisted of sliding and side to side movement.
@CheckSatori I'm proud to be Viet even though a lot of people say our lions suck I'm good at lion danceing

This is lion has nice colour combinations.
From my understanding Jow Ga and Zhoujia means the same, as Jow Ga is prounouce in Mandarian while the latter is in Cantonese.
The lion in this case is rightfully both Jow Ga and Zhoujia.
Hope this clears your doubts.
Cheers!!
