@SteveSpecP1 Automotive supply stores carry high temperature primer and paint specifically for these types of appications. I used the highest temp paint I could find. Yes I painted the headlight, and again - there is special paint available for plastics. I don't remember the brands.

I just bought a 1986 200x a week ago and am in love with it. Had a 70 before. I'm going to restore a 70 first, a lot of them around here cheap. Then Either this winter or next winter, i'm gonna tear down my 200 and make it look like yours, i love the blue and white.

Only the headlight housing since it is only available in OEM red. The rest of the plastic is still available aftermarket from Meier in red, white, or black.

@97dodge1 the dimesions of the 250r or 350x motor will require modding the frame. if you dont mind making a hybrid you could fit a 200 blaster motor with less fab work and make more power than the original motor.

I have in mind a 87 I believe or idk but the front lights look like two squares and I'm not sure but I'm thinking it's a 350x cuz it's fucking huge as fuck. Great restore... You are going to have to cut the back of the front fender because your getting no air flow on the cylinder. I had to go that to the 200x I had.

So many of you have said that it was in such great shape to begin with...for the last time, it left oil all over the place, plastic was missing huge pieces, half of the controls didn't work, rust all over the bike including inside the tank which also had a big dent in it...had original rims all bent up, it barely ran. I am telling you guys it was a piece of shit before I got my hands on it. Stay tuned for a new video soon which will show my next restoration project before I start.

It looked good from a distance, pictures always make them look better than in person. It had most of the original parts when I got it, but it was in really poor shape mechanically, it barely ran and leaked oil, clutch slipped, tank was solid rust etc...
