If you have more than one way of doing damage (e.g. destruction magic and blades), and one is more powerful than the other, you should strive to always use it. But in that case, it would be beneficial to ditch the less powerful method and pick up different skill, say illusion. Thus, it appears to me that destruction magic is a waste of a major skill. See what I'm trying to say?

Another thing that makes alchemy awesome is that you can stack poison effects! If you use a good (or even shitty) poison on every strike on an enemy (strike, add poison, rinse, repeat), the damage adds up and does severely fatal damage! It makes fighting even the hardest of enemies easy and all you have to do is harvest nightshades and peony seeds and stuff.

I have a better method. Make a bound item spell to give you an axe a bow and a dagger for 10 seconds. Use it. It equips the axe but the bow and dagger are in your inventory. Drop them and wait for the spell to wear off. Pick them back up and now they are permanent bound weapons with 0 weight. Equip the bow and the best arrows you have. Sneak and fire a long range shot at a stationary target. Switch to the dagger before the arrow hits. You get a 6x multiplier instead of a 3x.

Alchemy is easily the most underrated skill. I overlooked it for the longest time, but now I see how it can make characters that are insanely overpowered. I have a mage that can regen 100+ Magicka a second and can one shot anything within 10 of its spell. haha. fucking insane. 720 magicka unfortified too.

i never used to use alchemy in oblivion but now i use it all the time. it's probably my favorite skill even. once you get your skill up it becomes so worth it. i love making powerful feather potions as well as restore health and magicka ones.

lets see the reason u do this is because u cant make an item with constant effect and u dont have unlimited mana. all u have to do is dupe the arrows and poisen. if u played thru storyline of oblivion right then u should be able to wait a few seconds. and this is easy because u just hit em with arrow and keep on doing that and u can get high bounty

The best poison is Spiddal stick Bone marrow (you need Shiver Isles for this and the next ingredient) Congealed putrences and Milk thistle

This poison has Damage health, Fire, Frost, Damage magicka and Paralyze on top of having 915 damage total, it paralyzes for 3 secs which basically turns the first few seconds into instant damage as the target can do anything. (add on to the poison a drain health 100 for 1 sec bow and its done :P

You think alchemy is overpowered? try custom destruction spells that do low damage with every element (and plain "damage health") over 2-3 seconds. Pretty much instantly kills anything. I once killed Umbra with it and didn't even realize until I looted the body. Pretty much everything magical in Oblivion is unfair if you know how to tweak it.

But you know what? That's one of the reasons I love Oblivion. You can really feel like a God amongst the ordinary population. With all the overpowered spells and abilities, you are practically invincible, but not by design. This feels fantastic, and few games manage to pull it off.

Fire Damage

Damage Health

Frost Damage

Paralyze

Damage Magicka

The Fire+Health+Frost dealt in all 915 damage

Paralayze lasted 3 seconds

Damage Magicka was around 1,5-2000 pts

Just get alc 100, Master retorts and atleast 48 luck :D For this poison, Luck 48 - 100 has the exact same effect. 47 or below is weaker.
